STAMPtember!!!

Woot! Happy Sunday! I am happy to be with you this morning to celebrate STAMPtember! Simon Says Stamp's month long celebration and amazing new products! I am happy to be a part of this fun STAMPtember Party! Go check the Simon's Says Stamp Blog for the list of blogs participating is this fun release party. You may find some surprises along the way!

I was super excited when I received this Labrador die! I decided to make her look like my very fair Golden whom I keep shaved so she looks exactly like the image on the card!

I die cut the dog from some felt that was in my stash, I felt the texture was perfect for a dog. For the eyes and nose, I used Lawn Fawn Chocolate Bar paper. I also used Lawn Fawn Vanilla Malt paper as my card base and label for the add-on sentiment.

I used my Simon Says Stamp Pawesome die and part of the sentiment from the accompanying stamp set from an older Simon's release. I chose Kraft paper for the die cut sentiment as it complemented the color palette and I blended a bit of Gathered Twigs Distress Ink to the top.

I put all of my elements on the plaid panel and finished off with some gems, sequins and hearts. I also added glossy accents to the eyes and nose and once that dried I added some white gel pen detail. All of the products used are listed and linked below.

Come join the party!

Simon Says: Anything Goes featuring Stampendous!

Happy Wednesday crafty friends that means it's time for a new Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge!

This week Simon Says: Anything Goes! The design team is featuring Stampendous products, you don't have to use them but if you have them we would love to see them!

Come join in on the fun, you have the chance of winning a $50 gift card to the fantastic Simon Says Stamp store!

For my project this week, I could not resist the Stampendous Sloth Cling stamp set. I am in love with Sloths and Otters, I can't get enough of them! I also (probably due to green being my favorite color) love a good jungle theme!

I started by trimming my Neena 80lbs card panel to 4 x 5.25 and stamping my sloth using my stamp positioning tool. Once he was stamped on my panel, I looked through my stash for "filler" leaves and/or vines. I decided to go with he Mama Elephant Swinging Borders and the Hello Bluebird Jungle Littles to fill in my greenery.

Once the stamping was complete, I colored all of my images with my Copic markers. I decided once again, to add some clouds (yes, after coloring all of my images) with my trusty MFT Stencil Cloud and Salty Ocean Distress Ink. Once that was complete I decided the panel was missing a little something so I took my Simon Says Stamp Craft Frame Dies from the This is the Life release and die cut my panel with the thin frame die. I also used the same die to die cut some Tonic gold mirror cardstock (entirely inspired my Nichol Spohr).

I placed all of my frames on my card base and pieced them together. To finish off I used my Birch Press Hugs die with black glitter paper and a Lawn Fawn accompanying sentiment from the Hang In there stamp set. I then added some black and white gel pen detail to my Sloth!

Wonderful Flowers!

Happy Friday crafty friends! Kim with you this morning inspired by the current challenge theme Sparkle and Shine!
I really wanted to use the Sunburst Bold Prints background stamp on this project, I love the design of this stamp. I decided to go with a tone on tone background in colors that make me feel like summer!
I used Pale Tomato Shadow Ink for the tone on tone look and decided to use Kraft paper as the card base to offset the look. That inspired my choice of colored pencils for the Blossoms for Coloring all, also stamped on Kraft paper. I chose a mix of pinks and corals for the flowers and some yellows for the flower centres. I used my white colored pencil for highlights. I love the look of colored pencils on Kraft!
I then placed my colored flowers and leaves back in my stamp positioner and stamped them with Versamark ink and used some gold sparkle embossing powder on top. I love the effect! I die cut my flowers with the accompanying dies.
I then used the twine that was in the Hero Arts July card kit (If my memory serves) to unify the Kraft look. I popped-up my flowers and leaves with foam tape over the twine and added some glossy accents to the centres.
Once I was happy with the flower placement, I chose my sentiments. All from the Hero Arts Wonderful Stamp and Cut set. For the Wonderful die, I sandwiched some StickIt, Fun Foam and gold glitter paper to give it dimension. I simply stamped the accompanying sentiments on Kraft paper with some Hero Arts black die ink. I really liked the way this project turned out.

You still have time to join in on the fun at the challenge!
Thanks for taking the time!

Simon Says: Food and/or Drink

Happy Wednesday crafty friends that means it's time for a new Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge!

This week Simon Says: Food and/or Drink! The design team is featuring Neat & Tangled products, you don't have to use them but if you have them we would love to see them!

Come join in on the fun, you have the chance of winning a $50 gift card to the fantastic Simon Says Stamp store!

I decided to use the adorable Baking For Christmas set by Neat & Tangled for two reasons 1) it is too cute and 2) I have't done a critter scene in a while. I started by stamping my images on a piece of Neena 80lbs cardsctock and colored the critters and other elements with my Copic markers and die cut them with the accompanying dies.

I took another piece of Neena 80lbs cardstock and stamped the tree in the background from an Avery Elle stamp set and colored it in. I went over the panel with my MFT small stencil cloud and some Salty Ocean Distress Ink. Once that was complete I die cut the panel with my Mama Elephant Cloud Nine die as well as some Lawn Fawn Cilantro cardstock.

I then used my Lawn Fawn grassy borders and cut the bottom and the top of the panel to layer my grass. I place my images and decided the bear needed a place to be anchored so I used a tree stump from a Lawn Fawn set.

I place all of my images on the panel and started gluing them with a  mix of foam tape and tape runner to offer different dimension.

I stamped the sentiment from the same Neat & Tangled set on a Pretty Pink Posh label die and placed it on the card with foam tape. I finished off the card with some Studio Katia Iridescent Bubbles.

Simon Says Stamp August Card Kit

Happy Friday! I am at the tail end of a months vacation which included 10 wonderful days in South Carolina and Virginia and a massive home renovation... eek! lol.  I haven't been posting as regularly as I like to do but life goes back to normal on Monday so I should be back on a regular post schedule!

In all of this going on I finally had the time to play with my Simon Says Stamp August Card Kit! I was so excited to break it open!

I struggle with pattern paper usually but these Bo Bunny ones are so wonderful! I also picked-up this new Tonic mirror cardstock and the color is simply gorgeous so I chose my Copic colors based on the Midnight Plum color.

I die cut the pattern paper and the mirror cardstock with an MFT die (all supplies listed and linked below) and inserted the replacement pieces from the original pattern paper. I colored my images and the background on the flower piece. I put all of my elements on the card base and then I added my Simon Says Stamp Hugs die and the friend banner.

To finish this one off I stamped the hearts from the Mandy's Flowers stamp set and various gems.

For this card I based all of my design on the beautiful floral paper from the kit.  I also used an older Memory Box stencil to frame the flower pot. I trimmed the panel with a Lawn Fawn Stitched border die. Stamped my sentiments from the kit stamp set and put everything together. I finished this one off with some iridescent sequins.

Thanks so much for taking the time! The kit is sold out but you can purchase all of the items separately!

Thanks so much for taking the time!

Simon Says: Back to School with Penny Black

Happy Wednesday crafty friends that means it's time for a new Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge!

This week Simon Says: Back to School! The design team is featuring Penny Black products, you don't have to use them but if you have them we would love to see them!

Come join in on the fun, you have the chance of winning a $50 gift card to the fantastic Simon Says Stamp store!

So, I struggled with this theme and the whole part of a challenge is to get out of your comfort zone! Luckily I have plenty of Penny Black products but very few back to school items. So, I though why not make one for my niece in high school!

I chose the Hello Gorgeous set by Penny Black and decided to add the Mama Elephant Bookworm set with the pile of books and apple. Once I decided on my images I used my Copics to color them in and used the accompanying dies with the exception of the girl. There are no dies for this PB set so I fussy cut the image.  I chose the Lawn Fawn Quilted Backdrop in white to layer on top of a Kraft card base. I liked the way that looked so I opted for a Kraft top panel die cut from another Lawn Fawn Stitched Scallop rectangle cut on the top and one of the sides to fit in the upper left hand corner.

I place all of my images on top and then stamped the sentiments all from Penny Black sets.

I added some gel detail and various gems to finish off my project!

A Blog Named Hero - Sparkle and Shine!

Happy Wednesday! It's the 15th of the month and therefore time for a new A Blog Named Hero Challenge! This month we are all about the Sparkle and Shine!

I just picked-up a few of the new Hero Arts Christmas stamp sets and I just had to use the new Christmas Mice set!!! Too cute :)

I decided to pair my mouse with the new Christmas word die also by Hero Arts. I placed the die on my rounded rectangle die cut and the stamp to position everything properly.  I took the panel and used my stamp platform and picked up my mouse. I double stamped him in Copic friendly ink took the panel out and colored him in.

I then placed my die once more to position the Merry sentiment form an older Hero Arts set and went back to my platform and stamped the accompanying sentiment in Hero Arts Fresh Lawn ink.
Once that was done I grabbed a large stripped stencil and used my Versamark Ink around my stamped images and used the Hero Arts Sparkle Embossing powder.

I do like the sparkle effect it gave and proceeded to place my "Christmas" die cut. I finished everything off with some white gel pen detail and some sequins! Go check out the challenge

Thanks for taking the time!
