Simon Says: Spring Mood Board

Hello crafty friends! It's Wednesday and that means it's time for a new Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge!

This week Simon Says: Spring Mood Board! The design team is featuring always fabulous Simon Says Stamp brand Exclusives!  It isn't a requirement to use them but if you have them we would love to see them!

My super talented teammate Karin created this beautiful board for us to use as inspiration!

Come join in on the fun, you have the chance of winning a $50 gift card to the fantastic Simon Says Stamp store!

I chose the super fun Rain Boots Planter die for my card and paired it with one of my favourite large cling background stamps by Simon Says Stamp - the Reverse Polka.  I started by die-cutting and colouring my rain boots with my Copic markers and that gave me my color palette for the rest of the design.

Once I was finished coloring, I decided to die cut the tops of the boots with some ivory felt and added them to the die-cut.

I stamped my background using Simon Says Stamp Mint Ink and then die cut the panel using the Oval Chain Link MFT frame.  I also die cut the frame three times with Neena cardstock to layer the frame for dimension.

I took one of the inner pieces of Neena and colored the bottom with browns for the dirt and some greens for the grass blades. I then used some B family Copic markers for the sky (all colors listed below)

I die cut my Simon Says Stamp Thankful die from both Lavender and Harvest Gold cardstocks and I embossed the "For You" in yellow embossing powder. I put all of my elements together including inlay of my background pieces into the Chain Link die.

To finish off, I added some Studio Katia Chunk Glitter Butterflies to the sky!

Simon Says Stamp - Mirror hearts into a Butterfly!

Happy Monday crafty friends! Sharing a Simon Says Stamp brand exclusive card today!

So I am in love with this detailed heart from the Ornate Love set that was in the last Simon Says Stamp "You Are Loved" release.  I originally wanted to do a mirror heart card, but when my husband saw it he said "what a beautiful butterfly" lol so that's what it became :)

I started by finding the centre of my Bristol Smooth paper panel and placing my stamp aligned to the centre of the cardstock in my Misti and stamped the heart. I flipped the panel and stamped it a second time using Versafine Onyx Black in so that I could use my Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers.

Once that was done, I die cut a large butterfly with a die from my stash using Tonic black glitter paper and cut the centre of the butterfly and glued it to the panel.  I chose the fantastic Hello Beautiful Gorgeous dies from Simon Says Stamp and die cut it from both White and Black glitter specialty cardstock both by Tonic and glued it to the panel a little offset so the black would frame the white.

I then used one of the Lawn Fawn Stitched Border dies above and below the panel and trimmed it. I added some Sunny Studio paper in the background and finished off with some Studio Katia Chunky Butterfly Glitter and Sequins.

Simon Says: Something New

Happy New Year! It's Wednesday and that means it's time for a new Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge!

This week Simon Says: Something New! The design team is featuring Simon Says Stamp Brand Exclusive products, it isn't a requirement to use them but if you have them we would love to see them!

Come join in on the fun, you have the chance of winning a $50 gift card to the fantastic Simon Says Stamp store!

For my something new, I chose the fantastic Large Storybook Otter die and the Poinsettia Background Cling stamp.  I received these right before the holidays began and I couldn't wait to use them! My theme ringing in the New Year because it's, well, new!

I die cut all of my otter elements from felt pieces I had left over in my stash and put him together and added some black pen to highlight his whiskers and mouth. Once that was done, it gave me my color palette!

I took a piece of Lawn Fawn Chocolate Bar cardstock and cut it to 5.5 x 4.25 and embossed the Poinsettia background with shimmer embossing powder for a tone on tone effect.

I glued my otter to the card panel at a slight angle and cut off the excess on the bottom. I then die cut a series of balloons from Simon Says Stamp Glitter paper and some gold Tonic paper and a Lawn Fawn heart also from Tonic paper.  I embossed the Happy New Year from the Simon Says Stamp Critter Sweaters set in Chocolate embossing powder on the gold balloon and the 2019 in white on the heart.

Once that was done, I added some accessories from Honey Bee that I colored with my Faber Castel Polychromos on Kraft. I put everything together and added some Lawn Trimmings to the balloons!

Story Book Puppy Tag :)

Happy Thanksgiving to those celebrating today! We celebrate ours here in Canada in early October, although we may make a small turkey this weekend because I am seeing all of these amazing pictures everywhere I am in the mood now!

Today I am sharing a large size tag that I made using the amazing Simon Says Stamp Large Storybook dies! This is the puppy face and I just love him :)  I die cut all of my elements twice from Neena 110lbs cardstock first, including the face but for that I did selective die-cutting so that it would be a solid baking piece for both the front and back of the tag.

I then die cut all of the front elements once more from multiple colors of wool felt.

I glued all of my pieces together, and I am so happy with the way it turned out.  I then used the Lawn Fawn Woodland Critters add-on to die cut the Santas hat elements including the holly and berries. I placed that on his head with a mix of wet glue and foam tape in the middle.

To finish off, I added a Lawn Fawn heart to the hugging arms and a pompom from my stash for the Santa's hat.  I added Nuvo Glaze to his eyes and nose and once that dried I added some white detail with my gel pen.

For the sentiment, I used the Simon Says Stamp Tiny Words Christmas and I stamped it on a Tiny Tag Creative Cut from Mama Elephant.

Simon Says is having a 30% off sale today only on their exclusive brand products, you can pick up these storybook dies at a discount until 11:59 tonight!
