Happy Wednesday crafty friends that means it's time for a new Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge!

Come join in on the fun, you have the chance of winning a $50 gift card to the fantastic Simon Says Stamp store!

I used the fantastic Otter Friends stamps and dies for my project today, I mean, just look at those faces :)  I started by stamping all of my images from the set on Neena 80lbs cardstock and used my Copic markers in the E7 family.  I find the taupe/brown works great for Otters. I also colored the little fish from the same set.

I die cut all of my elements and inked another Neena panel lightly with Salty Ocean Distress Ink and the MFT Wave Stencil and then sprayed a little water on the ink for more texture.

Once that was complete and set aside to dry, I picked this beautiful Tonic paper and die cut it using a Mama Elephant frame die I also die cut my background piece with the same die for the centre piece to fit in perfectly.

I stamped my sentiment on the base panel and I place my background piece and added my sequins on top. I then added my acetate and foam tape to my frame and put my card together!

A Blog Named Hero - Fall Color Palette!

Happy Monday crafty friends! It's the 15th of the month and that means it's time for a fun new A Blog Named Hero Challenge!
This month we are playing with a gorgeous color palette!

I love fall, it's my favorite season. The colors, the sweaters to ward off the chill it is simply fantastic.

I used some of my favorite newer Hero Arts products for my card - the Bold Blossoms for Coloring stand alone flowers and background stamp! I love the modern lines of these flowers so much.

I started by stamping my background stamp on Strathmore Bristol smooth cardstock using Versamark ink and gold embossing powder.  I heat set my powder and proceeded to ink blend Seedless Preserves, Rusty Hinge and Ripe Persimmon Distress Inks on the background. Once that was complete I used my Distress Sprayer for some added texture. I also wiped off any excess ink on the gold embossing to make it shine.

I used my Copic markers for the flowers using RV99, RV69, RV66 and RV63 for the plum color and YR09, YR04 and YR00 for the orange.

I die cut the flowers and foam mounted them on the accompanying flower on the background. I then die cut my Hello from the Hero Arts Hello Stamp and Cut in both plum and gold specialty cardstock. I offset them and glued them to the panel.  To finish off my project, I used a mix of Nuvo Drops in matching colors and added white gel pen highlights.

Thanks so much for taking the time! Go check out the challenge

Simon Says: Anything But a Card!

Happy Wednesday crafty friends that means it's time for a new Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge!

This week Simon Says: Anything But a Card! The design team is featuring My Favorite Things products, it isn't a requirement to use them but if you have them we would love to see them!

Come join in on the fun, you have the chance of winning a $50 gift card to the fantastic Simon Says Stamp store!

I had to use these sweet Halloween critters from the MFT Frightfully Sweet stamp set, I have been wanting to color these guys since I picked up this set last month. I die cut three tags with Neena 80lbs cardstock using the the Simon Says Stamp tag die. I then place my tags in my Mini Misti and stamped my images with Lawn Fawn Jet Black ink safe for Copic coloring.  Once that was complete I used Mowed Lawn, Ripe Persimmon and Wilted Violet Distress Inks to ink the edges of my tags in coordinating colors.

I then die cut three more tags out of Simon Says Stamp Glitter paper in the same color families to add to the back and offset the white tag.

I used the smaller tag from the same Simon Says stamp die set and die cut regular cardstock so that I could white emboss my "Boo!" sentiment and add it to the top of the tag with some Lawn Trimmings twine. These are going to be fantastic to add to Halloween treat bags!

Simon Says Stamp Fun and Festive Release!

Happy Simon Says Stamp Exclusive Brand Product release day! So excited for the Fun and Festive release :)

I got to play with the Tiny Words Christmas stamp set for my project.

I decided to used most of the sentiments in the set on my panel. I used Lawn Fawn Vanilla Malt card stock and stamped the entire panel in Versamark Ink and then added gold embossing powder. I also used the fantastic heart from the Tiny Words Christmas set to give a little punch of color to my panel with Lawn Fawn Lobster ink.

Once that was complete I trimmed my panel to angle it on the card base (also Vanilla Malt cardstock).  I stamped the background using Delicata Gold ink and Lawn Fawn Lobster ink, I felt the card base needed a little something.

To top off my card I die cut the Simon Says Stamp Holiday Poinsettia (older Simon's release) from some Tonic Red Mirror Cardstock (mat) and I also die cut the smallest tag from the Simon Says Stamp Fanciful Tags.

I stamped another sentiment from the new Tiny Words Christmas stamp set and embossed it with Ranger Red Glitter Embossing powder. Stamped the heart from the Tiny Words Christmas stamp set once again and added to the centre of my Poinsettia.

To finish off the card, I used gold sequins.

Thanks for taking the time and go check out the fantastic new release!

Simon Says: Let's Get Ready for Christmas!

Happy Wednesday crafty friends that means it's time for a new Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge!

This week Simon Says: Let's Get Ready for Christmas! The design team is featuring Clearly Besotted products, it isn't a requirement to use them but if you have them we would love to see them!

Come join in on the fun, you have the chance of winning a $50 gift card to the fantastic Simon Says Stamp store!

I had such fun making this scene with masking!  I started by stamping my trees in the middle of the panel and cutting a mask out to then stamp my mountains (both border stamps are from the Clearly Besotted Scene It stamp set).  I then stamped my mice from the Clearly Besotted On Thin Ice stamp set.

I colored all of my elements with Copic markers including the sky in my B2 family of markers. I used Cool Greys for the mountains and added glitter to the mountain tops. I used the YG6 family for my trees.

I used some PostIt tape to mark my "ice line" and used a light touch of Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide Ink. I then colored in my mice with the Warm Greys and a mix of my "R" family for the red and some "G" family for the greens.

Once my scene was complete I added my Snow Marker and heated it with my heat tool and added white dot detail for my falling snow and some fun pompoms from my stash on their hats!

Fall Blooms with CAS-ual Friday's Stamps

Happy Tuesday! I had a little time to play in my craft room last weekend and I decided to play with one of my favorite CAS-ual Friday's stamp sets.

I used the Peaceful Garden stamps and dies for these two more fall inspired cards. I think both of these would make good either sympathy or support cards. I always have a hard time with these types of cards but it's always good to have some on-hand.  I stamped my flowers and leaves in three different inks in the blue and green families around the edges of my panel (Neena 80lbs).

I then used the Hero Arts Crossing Waves stencil with some Stormy Sky Distess Ink. I lightly added my ink to give a faint ombré type effect.

To finish off the panel I stamped my sentiment and added a mix of Pretty Pink Posh sequins and some Nuvo drops.

I did much of the same for the second card only changed out my colors and used the accompanying Peaceful Garden dies to pop up my flowers.

I used the same stencil but with Abandoned Coral Distress Ink and the panel was die cut with a Hero Arts Rounded Rectangle die.

I finished this one off with some Neat & Tangled sequins.

Thanks for taking the time, products listed and linked below!

Simon Says: Anything Goes featuring Hero Arts

Happy Wednesday crafty friends that means it's time for a new Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge!

Come join in on the fun, you have the chance of winning a $50 gift card to the fantastic Simon Says Stamp store!

Also, don't forget that this is the best month of the year - it's the last week of STAMPtember! Go check out  all of the fantastic Simon Says Stamp exclusive brand products and the wonderful collaboration products that are still available :)

I decided on the fantastic Polar Greetings set by Hero Arts for my card. I just love these bears and there isn't much coloring involved just some simple shading with my Copic "C" or Cool Grey set. I also used the red Copics for their accessories (listed and linked below). I then die cut my bears and their  accessories.

I cut a piece of Bristol cardstock and ink blended my sky with Black Soot, Blueprint Sketch, and Wilted Violet Distress Oxide then used my Distress Sprayer to add some texture.

I backed the night sky with some Simon Says Stamp White Glitter paper and I also die cut my mountains (Mama Elephant) with the same glitter paper and the snow caps are Tonic specialty paper. I put all of my elements together on the card base and die cut the new Hero Arts Fancy Dies Cut Out Season die with Tonic red glitter paper.

To finish off the card I added some of my snow marker and used my heat tool to puff it up and a mix of the new Hero Arts Berry and Icicle sequin mixes.
