Simon Says: Fun in the Sun

Happy Wednesday crafty friends! I have been MIA over the last week as I have been away for work! But I am back and my vacation starts next week! Can't wait!

It's time for a fun new Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge but first have you seen the Summer Kids Challenge going on now! The theme is Anything Goes with Sparkle! Click the link above or the logo below for more details!

Encourage your younger loved ones to enter for a chance to win one of three grab bags! This challenge is such fun!

Now for this week, Simon Says: Fun in the Sun! The design team is featuring Mama Elephant, you don't have to but we would sure love seeing them!

Come join in on the fun, you have the chance of winning a $50 gift card to the fantastic Simon Says Stamp store!

If any of you follow my blog you know that I am a huge pet person especially dogs! I love dogs especially my two goofs! So I chose to go with the Little Dog Agenda stamp set and all the fun "summer activity" dogs.

I started by stamping my puppies on Neena 80lbs cardstock with Lawn Fawn Jet Black Ink for Copic coloring. I chose the dogs with the beach ball, popcorn, beer (lol), activity flag or beach flag, and the skateboarder. I had to fussy cut them once I was done with the coloring (always buy the dies people! lol)

Once my images we complete and cut I die cut another piece of Neena 80lbs with the Mama Elephant Cloud Nine frame die (one of my favorite die sets). I created my own circle stencil by die-cutting a piece of acetate. I ink blended with Hero Arts Bubble Gum, Soft Apricot, Soft Vanilla, Green Apple, Soft Pool and Orchid inks for my rainbow circles. They are die and/or hybrid inks but they can be ink blended beautiful if you remove some of the excess before bringing the ink to the paper. If you are interested in trying this I highly recommend videos on YouTube by Laura Bassen. She rocks this technique!

I placed all of my puppies on the coordinating circles and chose the Mama Elephant Occasional Labels for my series of fun sentiments. I love this stamp set, it has every sentiment you may need and extra fun ones and I love the effect the stamped in black ink on white paper.

I finished off my card with some Nuvo Crystal Drops in rainbow colors and some Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear sequins. All of the products used are listed and linked below!

Rainbow Background

Happy hump day crafty friends! I fell in love with the Simon Says Stamp Cosmos 6x6 Cling Background and finally had some time to play with it.

I really wanted to use my Copics on these beautiful flowers! Once I stamped it out using MFT Hybrid Kraft colored ink I decided it screamed rainbow! Before coloring, I die cut my stamped panel using my Avery Elle Wonky Stitched Rectangle die (probably my most used die). I used two shades per color family with my markers and started on the upper left flower. This was a nice relaxing project, coloring is so good for the soul!

Once I completed my coloring process, I used my B00 and colored in the white spots in the background. I wanted a simple sentiment so I used the Sending (one of my favorite older SSS wafer dies) and die cut three from Neena 80lbs card stock to add a little dimension. I decided to pair my sentiment with a Mama Elephant Occasional Labels to add the Hugs.

Thanks for taking the time!

Winter Rainbow with Mama Elephant

Happy Monday crafty friends! Snowy Sunday yesterday so I had time to spend in my craft room :)

My project today was inspired by Laura Bassen, I just love her graphic style especially with her rainbows :)  So I decided to try my luck with this project and I am so happy with the way it turned out.

I used the stitched rain drop from the new Mama Elephant Cloud Nine die set and die cut a variety of colors from both Lawn Fawn and My Favorite Things card stock. I found the centre point of my panel and started placing the rain drops from the centre on the entire panel and I cut the excess off with my Tonic paper trimmer. I then die cut my Mama Elephant Birthday Script die from a fun foam, StickIt and Neena 80 lbs sandwich.

For the happy I used the Happy Birthday from the Occasional Labels set and cut the birthday and simply added white gel pen to complete the white frame. I placed my panel on a Neena 110 lbs card base and that was it.

Thanks so much for taking the time!
