Spring Flowers!

Happy Friday crafty friends! I am looking forward to this four-day weekend! Hoping to be able to do some crafting!  Today, I am sharing a floral card featuring products by Gina K. Designs.

One of my Sisters-in-Law asked me to make her a bridal shower card using the theme Butterflies and Flowers. I thought these two Gina K. sets would be perfect.

I started with a piece of Tim Holtz watercolor paper and stamped my flowers and butterflies (with my stamp positioner) using my Gina K light coloured Amalgam ink to try my hand at no-line Tombow Marker coloring. I am trying to stretch my comfort zone and practice with other mediums.

Once the images were colored, I knew where I wanted to add my sentiment. I placed my panel back in my stamping tool and stamped it in Versafine Onyx Black ink. I was really happy with the way it turned out. I took a coordinating envelop and stamped the same flowers on the flap.

I glued the panel on my Neena 100lbs card base and finished off the card with some iridescent Studio Katia sequins and some white gel pen detail.

Simon Says: Fun in the Sun

Happy Wednesday crafty friends! I have been MIA over the last week as I have been away for work! But I am back and my vacation starts next week! Can't wait!

It's time for a fun new Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge but first have you seen the Summer Kids Challenge going on now! The theme is Anything Goes with Sparkle! Click the link above or the logo below for more details!

Encourage your younger loved ones to enter for a chance to win one of three grab bags! This challenge is such fun!

Now for this week, Simon Says: Fun in the Sun! The design team is featuring Mama Elephant, you don't have to but we would sure love seeing them!

Come join in on the fun, you have the chance of winning a $50 gift card to the fantastic Simon Says Stamp store!

If any of you follow my blog you know that I am a huge pet person especially dogs! I love dogs especially my two goofs! So I chose to go with the Little Dog Agenda stamp set and all the fun "summer activity" dogs.

I started by stamping my puppies on Neena 80lbs cardstock with Lawn Fawn Jet Black Ink for Copic coloring. I chose the dogs with the beach ball, popcorn, beer (lol), activity flag or beach flag, and the skateboarder. I had to fussy cut them once I was done with the coloring (always buy the dies people! lol)

Once my images we complete and cut I die cut another piece of Neena 80lbs with the Mama Elephant Cloud Nine frame die (one of my favorite die sets). I created my own circle stencil by die-cutting a piece of acetate. I ink blended with Hero Arts Bubble Gum, Soft Apricot, Soft Vanilla, Green Apple, Soft Pool and Orchid inks for my rainbow circles. They are die and/or hybrid inks but they can be ink blended beautiful if you remove some of the excess before bringing the ink to the paper. If you are interested in trying this I highly recommend videos on YouTube by Laura Bassen. She rocks this technique!

I placed all of my puppies on the coordinating circles and chose the Mama Elephant Occasional Labels for my series of fun sentiments. I love this stamp set, it has every sentiment you may need and extra fun ones and I love the effect the stamped in black ink on white paper.

I finished off my card with some Nuvo Crystal Drops in rainbow colors and some Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear sequins. All of the products used are listed and linked below!

Party Like a Flock Star!

Happy Friday crafty friends! My post today features the fantastic new Toucan Do It stamps and dies by My Favorite Things. I mean seriously leg-warmers? Too sweet!

I started with my base panel and some Salty Ocean Distress Oxide Ink in the middle of the panel in an oval formation with my ink blending tool. I then sprayed the area with my Distress sprayer for texture and since it is a Neena 80lbs panel the effect is faint.

I then used the new Heffy Doodle Unbeleafable stencil and selectively blended certain leaves from the full stencil on the sides and top and bottom with a mix of Cracked Pistachio and Lucky Clover Distress Oxide Inks.

I stamped my leaves from the Toucan Do It stamp set with the same Cracked Pistachio and Lucky Clover Oxide Inks with the "rock and roll" technique to avoid harsh lines (Distress Oxide Inks stamp like a dream!)

I stamped my bird with Lawn Fawn Jet Black Ink (my go-to Copic friendly ink). I started with the rainbow feathers and the bandana. I then colored the bird and beak. I used the accompanying Die-Namics. I used Nuvo white embossing powder and Lawn Fawn Black cardstock for the sentiment.

I flat glued the leaves to the panel and used foam tape for the bird and the sentiment stripes. I added white Gellyroller accents to the eye, nose and bandana once that was dry I went over the beak and eye with Nuvo Crystal Glaze. I also added some pink Stickles to the bandana and the leg warmers.

I finished everything off with some Sparkling Clear sequins by Pretty Pink Posh. All of the products used are listed and linked below!

Thanks for taking the time have a great weekend! It's a long weekend here in Canada to celebrate Canada Day!

For the Boys featuring Lawn Fawn!

Happy hump day! That also means time for a new Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge! This week we are all about the boys featuring Lawn Fawn!

The inspiration for this card was my new Nuvo mousse. I had never tried it and just picked up my first colors. I took my Simon Says Stamp Falling Stars Stencil and used a mix of Aquamarine and Spring Green mousse. Love the stuff I must say! I put my Neena 80 lbs panel aside to dry and decided on the fantastic Critters Ever After set by Lawn Fawn for my feature images.

I love the whimsical feel of this stamp set, I colored in the images with my Copics and added some Diamond Stickles to parts of the dragon and Nuvo Crystal Glaze to the castle windows and door knobs.

For my sentiment I chose to use the new Lawn Fawn Happy Birthday Line die with some teal glitter paper. Once my mousse was dry, I placed the sentiment and then the images on the card base.

I wanted to add a few more stars so I used the small star cluster dies from the Lawn Fawn Stitched Stars dies that were in the latest release in matching colored card stock.

All of the products used are listed and linked below!

Thanks for taking the time and join in the fun at the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge!

Altenew Washi

Happy Monday! I hope you had an Easter weekend filled with family and friends! I love the Easter long-weekend four days to re-charge and re-connect. Also, lots of time set aside in my craft room!

I picked-up the new Altenew washi tapes last week and let me tell you they have my little heart! We celebrated one of my cousin's birthdays over the weekend and I had to use one of the washi's on it.

The starting point was obviously the washi, and I love that this role has color options. I didn't get further than the blue and pink option, not sure if there are more but such a great idea. I knew I wanted  the tape on the bottom, so I took my card base and placed the washi.

I then stamped my Altenew Painted flowers (probably my favourite set by them) in some Catherine Pooler inks, It's a Boy and Something Borrowed to match the blue on the tape. I die cut the flowers and took another piece of Neena Solar White 80lbs, sized the frame and used a Lawn Fawn Stitched Border die.

I am thrilled that more companies are releasing great French sentiment die cuts (my entire family is French-speaking) I die cut the Bonne Fete from a StickIt, Fun foam and gold card stock sandwich. I placed my flowers around the sentiment to make sure I liked the placement and then glued everything down. I finished off with some new Studio Katia iridescent sequins and some Nuvo Glitter pen on the flowers.

Thanks so much for taking the time!

CAS-ual Friday's Winter Blues!

Happy Friday crafty friends! Friday means time for another CAS-ual Friday's Challenge! This week it's all about the winter blues!

For my project, I decided on lots o' snow hills for my background using an older stencil and some Distress Oxide Ink in Salty Ocean all on Neena Solar White (80lbs) card stock.  I then used my Distress Sprayer to give the added effect of snow.

I then die cut my Funky Flakes (my favourite go-to snowflakes in my stash) from MFT glitter paper in blue and  silver. Once I glued the flakes together I chose the fantastic Joyeux Noel from the Noel Fri-dies. This is also a go-to die for me as my family is mostly french canadian and good french sentiments are very difficult to find. For the sentiment I used silver mirror paper from Tonic in a fun foam and StickIt sandwich. I put my elements on the card base and to finish off my project, I used mix of sequins in blues and sparkling clear.

Join us at the CAS-ual Fridays Challenge blog for the chance to win $25 worth of CAS-ual Fridays Stamps and, drum roll please... Michelle with double the prize if you use CAS-ual Fridays stamps!

Thanks so much for taking the time!

Campfire Critters Birthday!

Happy Friday crafty friends! Hope you have a nice weekend in store! We are supposed to see very hot summer temperatures in Montreal :)

The project I am sharing today is made with stamps that are illustrated by Nicole Tamarin and manufactured by Art Gone Wild.  Both are new to me but boy, did I fall in love with these Critters.  Both sets that I used are made to be used with Chibitronics lights of which I have yet to purchase so my project does not incorporate the lighting.

This is a one layer with lots o' masking... I started by stamping my front images (porcupine, racoon and fire) with Lawn Fawn Jet Black Ink (my new favourite Copic friendly ink) with my Misti Stamp tool. I stamped them again on full sticky post-it notes. I fussy cut my masks then stamped my bear and cut and masked him.

I then placed post-it tape along the bottom to mask the future ground. I used a mix of Squeezed Lemonade, Picked Raspberry and Wilted Violet to create the sky even though I used Neena Solar White card stock to use my Copics I find that if you blend enough Distress Inks rock just as much on Neena. I switched my post-it tape to mask the top and used Antique Linen and Gathered Twigs for my ground.

I removed my masks and coloured my images. By the time I finished colouring, I was able to use VersaMark Ink to emboss the sentiment in white and then the fireworks in gold.

To finish off the card, I used my gold Gellyroller for the Bears fireworks and some white Gellyroller for some added shading on the bear and the racoon. Some Glossy Accents on the fire, eyes and noses and finally some Copic C7 to ground the bottom of all the images.

Thanks for taking the time!

Waffle Flower Treasure!

Happy hump day! I needed a boy birthday card for one of my nephews and I thought this Tiger and Lily set by Waffle Flower was perfect! I believe this set has been out for about a year, but I was finally able to get my hands on it through Butterfly Reflections Ink!

I die cut two bases of Neena Solar White card stock and one out of Tim Holtz watercolour paper using the second largest Lawn Fawn Stitched Rectangle. One for my base, one for my "sand" and the watercolour is for my waves.

I stamped my images on Neena Solar White to be able to Copic color them.  I used the accompanying Tiger and Lily dies then added some dot detail and white gell pen for highlights.  For my card base I die cut some Lawn Fawn clouds out of full sticky post it notes for masking and used Tumbled Glass Distress Ink for the sky.  I used the "wave" die from the Tiger and Lily set on watercolour card stock and used Salty Ocean, Peacock Feathers and Mermaid Lagoon Distress Inks and spritzed them with my Distress Sprayer for a water droplet effect.

For the sand, I used a Lawn Fawn Stitched Hillside Border and added Antique Linen and Gathered Twigs Distress Inks and the accompanying markers for detail.

I then put the card together and topped it all off with sequins by Tailored Expressions!

Thanks for taking the time!

MFT - Miss You

Quiet holiday here in Quebec! Feels good to have the first of two long-weekends! Spent the morning organizing my craft room/office and I finished off this card featuring My Favorite Things products.

I finally received my backorder die-cuts from MFT for the Snuggle Bunnies set, I just love this set. While I was at my local craft store Scrapbook Centrale I also picked up the MFT Peek-a-Boo Wonky Window dies and the Written in Watercolor sentiments.  I offset and stamped the Miss You twice, once in Versafine Black then clear embossed and repeated again with VersaMark and clear embossed. I saw Jennifer McGuire do this in a video and I simply love the effect it gives. I then used Shaded Lilac and Cracked Pistachio Distress Inks on my smaller inside panel then sprayed with my Distress Sprayer. The Paper is Neena 80lbs so the droplet effect is more subtle then on watercolour paper. I took the same distress colours and used the Diagonal Stripe stencil also by MFT for the larger top Neena panel. I the created my shaker and added a mix of Black, Violet and Turquoise splotches on the top left of the card.  I stamped and Copic coloured my bunny and placed him on top of the shaker.  Finished off with a mix of sequins and some twine!

Thanks for taking the time!
Have a great weekend!

No-line Copics and Prismacolor!

This stamp is an oldie but a goodie! One of my favourite flower stamps ever from the Blooming Garden stamps set. I was practicing some no-line colouring and I am really happy with the way it turned out!

I was inspired by a YouTube tutorial by the amazing Sandy Allnock! I used the Avery Elle Stitched Wonky Frame die for both my Neena cardstock and my vellum top. I took my one inch post-it tape to mask the sides and top and bottom. I stamped my poppies with the Misti in both MFT Cherry Red (flowers) and Gumdrop Green (stems). I used R89, R39, R37 and R14 for the flowers and G29, G19 and G07 for the greenery.  The blue is my go to Distress Ink Tumbled Glass, I took off my masks and used a little white gell pen on the areas that bleed slightly.  The sentiment is from Hero Arts It's Your Day. I glued the four corners of the vellum, I felt is gave the final card a little somethin', somethin'!

Thanks os much for taking the time!
