Friendship cards

Happy Friday crafty friends! I was scheduled to go to Alberta for work this weekend and I have to say I am beyond happy that I no longer have to go! Yay, craft room time! I have been making a lot of friendship cards lately for a few reasons: I need to start sending more happy mail and this time of year can be depressing for many and this is such a nice way to uplift someone's spirits :)

I am entering this one in the Simon Says Stamp Flickr Challenge #89 - Friendship Theme.

I started with a snowflake set by Create a Smile - Snowflake Whispers (these are beautiful snowflakes) and I stamped them with Delicata Pink Shimmer Ink and to add some Copic detail with RV52 and RV55 (may as well have pink snowflakes!) I then embossed the snowflakes with Hero Arts Sparkle embossing powder. Hard to see in the pictures, but such a pretty effect. I then die cut a heart from some pattern vellum that was in my stash. I don't usually explore with different or competing patterns but I though this was a sweet look.

I took my favorite Simon Says Stamp Hello die and die cut it from a StickIt, black fun foam and black card stock sandwich and I white embossed the Sweet Friend from the Simon Says Stamp Forever Friends stamp set. I then found some thick pink twine in my stash wound it on the card base and used clear foam tape to mount my heart and added my sentiments. I also used Glossy Accents on the the hello for shiny dimension.

And, of course to top off the project I used Pretty Pink Posh Rose Gold sequins and some pink gems by Studio Katia on top.

Thanks so much for taking the time your comments make my day!

Simon Says Stamp Fall Flickr Challenge #82!

Happy Monday crafty friends! Hope you enjoyed your weekend, I sure did - didn't have to work so I did find some crafty me time!

I made this one for the current Simon Says Stamp Flickr Challenge #82! All about fall!

I had such fun using the exclusive to Simon Says Stamp Neat & Tangled Hello Pumpkin set! I started by die cutting my base panel from a Lawn Fawn Inside Out Stitched Scalloped rectangle die and placed my images so that I could stamp the leaves in the sky and the caramel apple on the base. I stamped and cut masks for the images that were directly stamped on the card base and used my Distress Oxide in Salty Ocean for the sky (I masked off my ground first). I then switched the mask and used a mix of Antique Linen and Gathered Twigs Distress Inks for the ground. I then sprayed the sky only with my Distress Sprayer for texture.

I stamped my images from the Hello Pumpkin set and used my Copics to color them in bold fall colours (I do love fall) and used the accompanying dies.  I decided on the Simon Says Stamp Painted Hello die for my sentiment in Black card stock along with the Sweet Friend from the Forever Friends stamp set.

I put my card together and added some of the Studio Katia sequins (I love this mix).  Thanks for taking the time!

Simon Says Stamp Stamptember release!

Happy Monday crafty friends! As probably most crafters, I have indulged in the Simon Says Stamp Stamptember madness, lol. Made this project to enter in the current Simon Says Stamp Flickr Challenge - Embossing.

I used the new Forever Friends set for this one, if you follow my blog you will know that I am a sucker for critters of any kind.  I thought this set was so sweet. The frame is from Mama Elephant which was die cut from Neena Solar White 80lbs card stock.  I then masked my background and stamped these older Hero Arts trees with my Distress Oxide Inks. Once they dried I used the traditional Salty Ocean Distress Ink for my sky. I then reversed the mask to ink my ground with Antique Linen and Gathered Twigs Distress Inks.

I stamped my images and coloured them with my Copic markers, I fussy cut them. While I was placing my images I felt it needed a little something so I stamped the tree stump from a Lawn Fawn set and fussy cut that as well. I found it set up the scene so much better.

I used a sentiment from the same SSS stamp set and gold embossed it on black card stock, the banner die is also from Lawn Fawn. To finish the project I added my favourite hearts from the CAS-ual Friday's Fun-Fetti Fri-dies.

Have a great week and thanks for taking the time!
