Mama Elephant Rainbow Birds!

Happy Tuesday! Sharing a fun Mama Elephant rainbow inspired card today! We have been seeing a mix of freezing rain and snow here in Montréal and I was in dire need of a happy colourful project :)

This card was inspired by Julie Ebersole, she created a similar background last week and I simply could not resist. It just made me happy! I decided to pair mine with the fantastic newly released Mama Elephant Happy Birthday die and the cute birds from he Mama Elephant wreath stamp set from their last release.

I started by stamping my stripes using my stamp positioner in rainbow order on 3/4 of the panel. I realized that once I was done with my stamping that I was slightly off so I used my Honey Bee die to cut the panel giving the illusion that all is straight.

I die cut my Happy Birthday die from a Neena 80lbs, fun foam and Stick It sandwich for dimension and added it to the panel.  I then stamped and coloured my birds and flowers with Copics, used the accompanying dies and placed them on the panel.

To finish off I added a secondary sentiment on Black Licorice cardstock and some Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins!

Simon Says Stamp Fresh Bloom Release!

Happy Thursday! Today is the newest Simon Says Stamp Brand Exclusive Release - Fresh Bloom!

Super excited for this release as I am dying for signs of spring!!! This promises to be a gorgeous release :)

I played with the new Tiny Words Faith for this card. I just loved the "you were meant to shine" sentiment.  I also needed a Birthday card for a very dear friend and this was just the perfect sentiment to pair with Simon Says Stamp Big Friend wafer die.

I started by stamping my Beautiful Flowers stamp on a piece of Neena 110lbs cardstock that was 5.5 x 8.5 because I didn't know at what angle I wanted to die cut the panel. I used Simon's fog ink to stamp it because I decided to re-stamp it after I colored it in with my Copics with some Versamark Ink and emboss it with Rose Gold embossing powder.

Once all the coloring and embossing was complete, I die cut it using a Stitched Rectangle die and die-cutting it again using my thin frame by Simon Says Stamp so that I could inlay a piece of Tonic Blushed Rose specialty paper. I was really happy with the way it turned out.

I then added my sentiments and some Rose Gold sequins and Hearts by Pretty Pink Posh to finish off my card!

Thanks so much for taking the time, head on over to Simon Says Stamp to check out the newest release! Products used are listed and linked below at no extra cost to you!

Sending you a Paper Hug!

Happy Monday! I am sharing a Paper Hug today featuring this fabulous die by The Stamp Market :) I am in love with this stamp and die set!!!

I started by taking a piece of Tim Holtz watercolor paper and playing with my Avery Elle watercolors in rainbow order :)

Since they are in fantastic little bottles, I simply put a drop to paper and used my distress sprayer to spread the color. I repeated this about three times for each color and then added some Antique Bronze Distress Paint and spread that with water as well.

Once it was damp, I placed the panel under a pile of stamping blocks to flatten it and prepared my Paper Hug die that I cut from a Fun Foam, Stick It and Tonic Black Glitter sandwich.

I also used my Rose Gold Embossing Powder for the secondary sentiment which should have gone on the top but it looked better at the bottom, lol.

I embossed my panel with a We R Memory Keepers 3D Embossing  Folder and put everything together on the card base.

To finish off I added some Pretty Pink Posh Rose Gold sequins that match the Antique Bronze paint and my embossing powder beautifully.

Simon Says: Clean and Simple!

Good morning crafty friends! It's Wednesday and that means it's time for a new Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge!

This week Simon Says: Clean and Simple! The design team is featuring Hero Arts products, it isn't a requirement to use them but if you have them we would love to see them!

Come join in on the fun, you have the chance of winning a $50 gift card to the fantastic Simon Says Stamp store!

I love making Clean and Simple cards! I have been re-visiting the Hero Arts Layering Stamps lately, when I first purchased them I seemed to have a hard time layering them properly. But as they say practice makes perfect and a stamp positioner is always a winning product to own!

I used my Layering Koi for this project and chose to go with a bottle green color and some navy. It's always good to have cards ready that could go for masculine or feminine recipients!

I started by stamping my Koi fish and used the accompanying die, I die cut my Neena 80lbs panel with one of the Rounded Rectangle dies. I used the Crossing Waves Stencil and ink blended on a portion of the panel.

I used the Hand Drawn Messages and stamped my sentiments. I foam mounted my Koi fish and added a sprinkling of Sparkling Clear Sequins by Pretty Pink Posh and some Nuvo Glitter drops to the centres!

Simon Says: Anything Goes featuring Wild Rose Studio

It's Wednesday crafty friends and that means it's time for a new Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge!

This week Simon Says: Anything Goes! The design team is featuring Wild Rose Studio products, it isn't a requirement to use them but if you have them we would love to see them!

Come join in on the fun, you have the chance of winning a $50 gift card to the fantastic Simon Says Stamp store!

I chose the sweet Penguin with Heart stamp set by Wild Rose for my card today. I just love the illustration of their stamps and this guy is no exception!  The stamp itself has a heart balloon but I really wanted to use the Pretty Pink Posh Winter Sparkle shaker mix and it ended up being my color inspiration for this card. A mix of iridescent sequins in blues and purples with some snowflakes, it really is a beautiful mix. So I picked a Lawn Fawn outside in Stitched Heart die for my shaker window that acted as the balloon.

I stamped my penguin on a piece of Neena 80lbs card panel using my Misti and re-stamped on masking paper so that I could do my background ink blending.  After he was masked, I added a piece of PostIt tape to the bottom and blended some Wilted Violet and Shaded Lilac Distress inks with a light hand. The colors were chosen based on the sequin mix but I do love non-traditional colors for the holidays.

I added some water with my distress sprayer for the droplets. While that dried I die cut the insert heart and used the same ink colors.  I went back and coloured in my penguin once that was done, I die cut the heart "balloon".

I added a few embossed snowflakes around the background and added some White Blizzard Nuvo Glitter drops to the centres.

Once that was all dry, I addd my snow marker to the bottom and dried it to "puff" it up with my heat tool and embossed my sentiment on the heart.  I added my sequins to the centre of the heart and put the top panel on the base using 3m Foam tape so the sequins could shake.

To finish off the card, I added bells and twine from my stash to the ballon base.

Simon Says: Anything Goes featuring Simon's brand exclusives!

Happy Wednesday crafty friends that means it's time for a new Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge!

This week Simon Says: Anything Goes! The design team is featuring Simon Says Stamp Exclusive brand products, it isn't a requirement to use them but if you have them we would love to see them!

Come join in on the fun, you have the chance of winning a $50 gift card to the fantastic Simon Says Stamp store!

I just had to use this gorgeous Sketched Flower by Simon Says Stamp. I am in LOVE with that stamp set.  I used my Misti Stamping Tool to stamp my flower and colored in the flowers with my Faber Castel Polychromos (another love of mine!) This was such a relaxing process and I simply adore those pencils.

Once I was done coloring I put my Neena Desert Storm piece back in my Misti and stamped my flower again with Versamerk ink and embossed my gold powder. I love the effect of gold embossing powder on Kraft. I then die cut my panel using the Mama Elephant Cloud Nine frame die.  I chose a sentiment from the MFT Woodland Creatures set and stamped it on a Lawn Fawn Banner die cut from Black Licorice cardstock.

Once that was complete I used foam tape for my sentiment banner and then glued my panel to a card base.  To finish off the card I added some Pretty Pink Posh gold sequins in both 4 and 6 mm.

I added some gel pen detail to my background and that was it. I am super happy with the way it turned out and this one is in the mail to a dear friend.

Hello Fall with Hello Bluebird!

Happy Sunday! I am not sure when it happened but I woke up one day this week put my dogs out and bam, I realized it was fall! Don't get me wrong I love fall, I actually think it's my favorite season. The only problem with it is that winter in next! LOL!

So, I was inspired to make a fall themed card using the sweet Hello Bluebird Moose and Friends stamp set along with the Tropical Foliage dies (yes, I know, they are tropical leaves but I wanted to use them anyway!) I used my Distress Oxide Inks on a piece of Bristol to make my fall colors and I die cut my tropical leaves from that panel.

I stamped and colored my images with my Copic Sketch markers and added some white gel pen for added detail. Once that was all done I die cut my Neena 80lbs panel using my favoured Avery Elle Wonky Stitched Rectangle die.

Before adhering my leaves and images, I added some Salty Ocean Oxide Ink in the centre and sprayed some water using my Distress Sprayer. Once that was dry I stamped my sentiment (collaboration set with Simon Says and Neat and Tangled from last years STAMPtember).

I put everything together and added some Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling clear sequins!
Thanks for taking the time, all of these products can be found at Simon Says Stamp!

Simon Says: Red, White and/or Blue

Happy Wednesday crafty friends and Happy 4th of July to my American friends! It's time for a new Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge but first have you seen the Summer Kids Challenge going on now! The theme is Anything Goes with Sparkle! Click the link above or the logo below for more details!

Encourage your younger loved ones to enter for a chance to win one of three grab bags! This challenge is such fun!

Now for this weeks Simon Says: Red, White and/or Blue fitting for the date :)

Come join in on the fun, you have the chance of winning a $50 gift card to the fantastic Simon Says Stamp store!

These are colors that I do not often use, I love it when a challenge takes me way out of my comfort zone.

I started with my More Spring Flowers set and colored them with my Copics in reds and greys to mimic a white flower. I used the accompanying dies and decided on a navy background panel.

I wanted the background to have a little more life to is so I decided on the Simon Says Stamp Deco Diamonds 6x6 background stamp with some sparkle embossing powder. When I placed my flowers to the panel I decided I needed something to "ground" the flowers so I chose the Neat and Tangled Punchinella die and die cut a piece of Neena 80lbs cardstock. I really like the effect.

I put all of my elements together and opted for this great sentiment from the Simon Says Stamp Spring Flower Burst set. I die cut the stitched banner by Pretty Pink Posh from some Tonic scarlet matt speciality paper and I white embossed the sentiment. To finish off I added some Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear sequins in a mix of sizes.  All of the products are linked and listed below!
