Simon Says: Animal Antics

Hello crafty friends! It's Wednesday and that means it's time for a new Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge!

This week Simon Says: Animal Antics! The design team is featuring amazing Hello Bluebird products!  It isn't a requirement to use them but if you have them we would love to see them!

Come join in on the fun, you have the chance of winning a $50 gift card to the fantastic Simon Says Stamp store!

I have been practicing my no-line coloring lately and have been having fun with it! I used my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers for this fun scene featuring the Hello Bluebird Moose and Friends stamp set.

I used the Gina K. Amalgam Ink for the first time on this project and I was super happy with the result. I stamped all of my images on Strathmore Bristol Smooth cardstock, colored my images and die cut all of my elements.

I also used Bristol for my base panel and stamped my Hooray sentiment from the same stamp set and colored it in rainbow order. I then used my MFT Mini Cloud and Grass stencils with Salty Ocean and a mix of Mowed Lawn and Lucky Clover Distress Inks. I find it easier to stencil after the initial coloring and simply avoid the colored area.

I placed all of my images on the base panel using a mix of foam tape and glue and added some gel pen detail. I made a mistake on my Moose (typical of me, lol) so I decided to give him some googly eyes instead of starting over. I find there is always a way to save my images!

I added my "champagne" colored Spica pen to add strings to my sentiment balloon and gold embossed my secondary sentiment. I die cut that sentiment using the new Mama Elephant strip dies and used foam tape to add that to the card.

To finish off the card, I added some hearts and the new Nuvo Dream Drops (LOVE these)!

Hello Fall with Hello Bluebird!

Happy Sunday! I am not sure when it happened but I woke up one day this week put my dogs out and bam, I realized it was fall! Don't get me wrong I love fall, I actually think it's my favorite season. The only problem with it is that winter in next! LOL!

So, I was inspired to make a fall themed card using the sweet Hello Bluebird Moose and Friends stamp set along with the Tropical Foliage dies (yes, I know, they are tropical leaves but I wanted to use them anyway!) I used my Distress Oxide Inks on a piece of Bristol to make my fall colors and I die cut my tropical leaves from that panel.

I stamped and colored my images with my Copic Sketch markers and added some white gel pen for added detail. Once that was all done I die cut my Neena 80lbs panel using my favoured Avery Elle Wonky Stitched Rectangle die.

Before adhering my leaves and images, I added some Salty Ocean Oxide Ink in the centre and sprayed some water using my Distress Sprayer. Once that was dry I stamped my sentiment (collaboration set with Simon Says and Neat and Tangled from last years STAMPtember).

I put everything together and added some Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling clear sequins!
Thanks for taking the time, all of these products can be found at Simon Says Stamp!

Spring flowers with Hello Bluebird stamps!

Happy hump day crafty friends! I woke up this morning to a snowfall and I felt like crying, lol. So I am sharing spring inspired flowers today :)

I ordered a series of Hello Bluebird stamps from Butterfly Reflections Ink. It's a new company and I have to say the whimsical critters and fun designs from this company have my heart going pitter patter. I decided to help jump start spring (at least physiologically) and use these beautiful flowers from the Send Flowers set.

I decided to make my own background and used the beautiful Catherine Pooler Inks in It's a Girl, Party Dress, Peach Bellini, Polished, Tiara, Sweet Sixteen, Pixie Dust, Mint to be, All that Jazz, Melon Ice and Lime Rickey. I love these inks so much, there is no need to use a stamp positioner because I never need to double stamp!

Once all my flowers were stamped I went in with the small dot from the same stamp set and added a few in Midnight black. I then stamped the Hello Friend sentiment from the same set and an additional sentiment from the Spring Script set that actually says I Miss Your but I masked the "r". I then added some of the beautiful new Studio Katia Iridescent bubbles.

Many of my dearest friends live at a distance so I can never have enough of these types of cards. But this one is going in the mail this week to help cheer someone up that may have the late winter blues!

Thanks for taking the time!

Hello Bluebird!

Happy hump day! As many of you crafters, I have been dying to play with Hello Bluebird stamps!  I was able to get one set from Butterfly Reflections and I couldn't wait to play!

For those of you that follow my blog or Instagram know I love a good critter and Hello Bluebird does not disappoint! The dies for this set were unavailable when I ordered so I decided to build a jungle theme with some masking. The way I laid out my images made the masking limited so I really didn't mind doing it and there is something about building a scene direct to paper as opposed to die cutting everything.

This set is called Jungle Littles and look at their adorable faces! Once I stamped the background scene I used my Copics to color them in and add dot detail to all three "littles". I also stamped and masked a bunch of leaves on the bottom and colored them in as well.  Once all my coloring was done, I used my MFT small cloud stencil with Salty Ocean Oxide Ink and colored the sky. I die cut the Bayou Backdrop by Lawn fawn to place on top for my jungle scene I though it was nice mix.

Once I finished my images and placed the frame on top I felt it was missing some color and dimension so I added hearts on the panel and I colored more leaves and the flower from the Jungle Littles set. I fussy cut the images and placed them around the frame and on the bottom of my project. I put the panel on a card base and that was it! I have since been able to order another set and matching dies for this set and the new one! Can't wait to receive them!

Thanks for taking the time,
Kim
