Fall flower with color inspiration!

Happy Wednesday! I am over at A Blog Named Hero this morning sharing a fall flower inspired by the beautiful color palette for the current challenge!

Look at the gorgeous fall colors on this photo! Such fun to work with because it got me out of my comfort zone!

I decided to use a stamp set by Hero Arts that I love and haven't used in a while - Marianne's Flowers!

I die cut my panel using the Rounded Rectangle dies (they have become a staple in my stash). I then used my stamp positioner and stamped my flower using Copic friendly ink. I used RV99, RV69, RV66, RV63 for the plum color and YR09, YR04 and YR00 for the orange. I used YG's for the leaves as they have a brownish base - YG99, YG93 and YG91.

I then used the Crossing Waves Stencil with Seedless Preserves Distress Ink using a very light hand and I did not need to re-ink my blending tool.

I then used the Wonderful Stamp and Cut with some specialty plum paper and stamped the You Are from the same set.  I finished off the card with a scattering of complimentary sequin colors and added white gel detail.

You still have time to join in on the challenge!
Thanks so much for taking the time!

50th Wedding Anniversary

Just popping in to share a card that my Mom asked me to make for family friends that are celebrating the big 50th wedding anniversary!

Gold is the colour for a 50th anniversary and I wanted to keep the card classy so I opted to gold emboss my flowers that are from Hero Arts Marianne's Flowers stamp set.  I really didn't need watercolour paper but I just love the texture, so to stamp my flowers I used my Misti to be able to get good coverage with the Versafine ink. I then decided to add a little shading with my Copics to the flowers to give them a little dimension and life.  The die cut sentiment is by Simon Says stamp that I cut twice, once in black and the second time with gold paper. I glues the two with Stick It (offset to see the shadow).  The smaller sentiment is from Avery Elle and I simply gold embossed it. Finished it all off with some Pretty Pink Posh sequins in gold and a little twine on the flower to the far left.

Thanks for taking the time!

Hero Arts Marianne's Flowers

I was so excited to get my hands on this new stamp set by Hero Arts! I really love their new release and this set is one of my favourites!

I am not one to use purple often but I decided to experiment. The lines on this flower inspired me to break out my Copics (V12, V04, V06 and V09 - Flower YG21, YG25 and YG17 leaves) and just colour! I liked the way it turned out and I didn't want to take away from the flower so I die cut my Simon Says Stamp Thanks sentiment from the panel itself and added four extra layers in black to give it height and to offset the original "thanks" . I finished it off with my favourite Pretty Pink Posh sequins.

Thanks for taking the time!
