Simon Says Stamp Watercolour!

I love long weekends! I was lucky enough to have a four-day weekend for Easter! Grey and rainy in Montreal today (at least it isn't snow!). So, I am having fun playing in my craft room/office. I have been facing my fear of watercolour lately and as they say practice makes, well practice! Lol

I used my Gansai Kuretake watercolour set for the background (no. 34, no. 44, no. 42 for colour and no. 20 and no. 90 for the splatter) on Canson watercolour paper. I then die cut the Simon Says Stamp Wishing sentiment from black cardstock and the butterfly (SSS Butterfly Drift die) from vellum. I added some Martha Stewart hearts and some Pretty Pink Posh sparkling clear sequins.

Thanks for taking the time!

Sending Hugs

Nice long Easter weekend! Enjoying some quiet time before a mega line-up of family suppers! I had some fun with my Zig Clean Color Brush Pens and Mama Elephant Freestyle Florals! I am in dire need of signs of spring!

I started with Strathmore Bristol paper. I die cut my panel using my favourite Wonky Stitched Frame die by Avery Elle. I used my Misti to stamp my florals on both the panel and masks. I masked the original front flower to stamp the other two then masked those to stamp the leaves. I coloured my images with my Zigs, I just love the blending these pens offer! To finish off the card I die cut a Simon Says Stamp "Sending" die (one of my favourites) and an SSS "hugs" stamp. I scattered some Pretty Pink Posh sequins and some Martha Stewart hearts.

Happy long weekend to all!

Thanks for taking the time,
Kim

Fairy Fun with Lawn Fawn!

I am just in love with the Fairy Friends set by Lawn Fawn! I mentioned in a previous post that it wasn't in my original plan to purchase this one and it has become one of my favourites from their last release!   I don't usually work primary colours but for some reason I did with this one - but I like the way it turned out. The only thing my husband pointed out is the sentiment is Have a Magical Day and it is a night scene... lol!

For my background I used Distress Inks and my mini ink blending tools with Mermaid Lagoon, Blueprint Sketch, Chipped Sapphire and a little Black Soot for the sky.  I used a mix of Twisted Citron, Mowed Lawn and Lucky Clover for the grass and the Mowed Lawn Distress Marker for the few blades of grass. I put my panel aside to dry and stamped my images from the Fairy Friends stamp set and coloured them with Copics, added sparkle with a Gellyroller on the fairy's wings and the shadow areas on the lamp post and window.  I die cut the fence with the Lawn Fawn die, trimmed the bottom for scale and shaded lightly with Pumice Stone Ditress Ink. Once the panel was dry I glued my images and stamped the "fairy dust" in Delicata Gold and coloured it in with the same Star Dust Gellyroller pen. I added some stars with my white Gellyroller and Glossy Accents for the light on the post and the window on the house/hut to finish it off!

Happy long Easter Weekend!

Easter!

Happy Easter! I can't believe it is already time for Easter, maybe it's earlier than usual... I simply fell in love with this Penny Black Elegance slapstick cling Calla Lilly. I figured my parents' Easter Card should be made from a stamp called elegance!

I die cut my rectangle (Wonky Stitched Frame die by Avery Elle) from Bristol paper because I wanted to use my Zig Clean Brush Pens. I stamped the Calla with my Misti stamp tool for the angle, I then used some light grey Zig pens to define the white of the Calla Lily with my water pen. Added a little yellow in the centres and brown in the middle. I then coloured the stems and leaves and used a light mint green for the surround of the bouquet. The sentiment is an older one and I am not sure what company. I finished it off with a mix of Pretty Pink Posh sequins and Martha Stewart yellow flat hearts.

Thanks for taking the time!

My Favourite Things!

I have been so busy at work over the last few weeks, lots of travel to Québec City which has me missing my creative break time! That's why I haven't posted this week. It is a little cold here today so I am taking the time to enjoy my craft space and relax :) I finally got my little hands on this My Favourite Things Adorable Elephants set, yay!

I pulled out my Distress Inks for this one and watercolored all the images. I took a cue from the uber talented Nichol Magouirk for the background.  I die cut my rectangle from Canson Watercolor cardstock then cut a circle with the MFT pierced circle dies. For the grass effect I used Lucky Clover, Mowed Lawn and Twisted Citron then used Blueprint Sketch, Mermaid Lagoon and Tumbled Glass for the sky with my ink blending tools. I sprayed the panels with my Distress Sprayer waited about 30 seconds and removed the excess water which left the droplets.  I stamped all my images on Canson with Versafine Black ink and watercolored all the images with Distress Inks: Pumice Stone and Hickory Smoke for the elephant, Picked Raspberry, Peacock Feathers and Wilted Violet for the butterflies, balloons and flowers.  I used a white gell pen for a little details.

Happy Sunday and thanks for taking the time!

Lawn Fawn Fairy Fun!

When I picked up my new Lawn Fawn products, I wasn't going to buy the Fairies! Can't figure out why... I love this set! I had fun mixing three different Lawn Fawn sets for this one.

I started with Tim Holtz watercolor paper and a mix of Spun Sugar, Picked Raspberry, Squeezed Lemonade, Fossilized Amber, Milled Lavender and Wilted Violet Distress Inks for my colour splotches. I then stamp and coloured my fairies in Copics with colours that matched my Distress choices. For the purple fairy I used V12, V04, V06 and V09. The pink is RV10, RV13 and RV13 and finally for the yellow I used Y11, Y21 and Y32.  I topped the wings and some of the hair with fairy dust by using my Clear Star Gelly Roll pen by Sakura. The brushes and paint cans are from the Lawn Fawn Chirpy, Chirp, Chirp set the sentiment is from the Lawn Fawn Color my World set and, of course, Fairy Friends! I used two of the Lawn Fawn Puffy Cloud Borders - the medium and the smaller of the three with both a piece of Neena and Vellum. The watercolor paper was die cut with the largest Lawn Fawn Stitched Rectangle dies. I finished it of with Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins.

Sweet Baby Girl!

Made this one for a sweet new baby girl! Why are baby cards so fun to make :)

My background panels (Neena and Vellum) were both cut with my large Avery Elle Wonky Stitched die. I used a small striped background stamp on my Neena Panel with the Mama Elephant Piggy Bank Pigment Ink.  I also used the smaller Wonky Stitched die (same set) for my feature panel, I then stamped the Hero Arts Brushed Frame wood stamp in Simon Says Stamp Fog ink. I then filled the top left corner with some stars from Waffle Flower Bowtiful stamp set (cluster of small stars) and a few Lawn Fawn Stars also in the same fog ink. The cute bunny bear is from Mama Elephant Honey Bunny set and I Copic coloured her. Topped everything of with PPP sequins, Lawn Fawn Twine and the pink heart is also from Honey Bunny stamped in Piggy Bank ink.

Thanks for taking the time!
