Penguin wishes!

Happy Friday crafty friends! We have a rainy weekend in store for us in Montréal so I have decided to hibernate to my craft room! Woot! Who's with me?

I am in love with the new MFT Sweet Holiday Penguins stamp set! These images are so sweet, I will be making a series of Christmas cards using these for sure! I started by die-cutting my Neena 80lbs card stock using the larger of the Avery Elle Wonky Stitched rectangle die.  I then stamped my cutie penguin with Lawn Fawn Jet Black ink so that I could color with my Copic markers (all colors listed and linked below).

I then used my stamp positioner (to re-stamp if needed) to stamp my sentiment from the Hand-Lettered Holiday Greetings also by My Favorite Things using Lawn Fawn Lobster ink.

I felt the card was missing something so I added the berries and foliage also from the Hand-Lettered Holiday Greetings stamp set by MFT with the Lobster ink and Hero Arts Fresh Lawn ink. I added some snow flakes and sequins from the Hero Arts Snow and Berries pack and finished off the card with some white gel pen detail, glossy accents and Nuvo White Blizzard drops.

Fall scene with MFT

Happy Monday crafty friends. I am sharing a fall inspired card today using some MFT products!

I started with the gorgeous Fall Friends stamp set and lots o' masking! I just adore the two squirrels in the set, they are just too cute!

I set up my scene first and then took out my stamping tool. I stamped all of the images on the forefront and stamped them again on full sticky PostIt notes and cut them out. I followed the same process until all of my images were stamped.

I colored everything with Copics markers. Once that was complete I took my Stencil Cloud also by MFT and some Stormy Sky Oxide ink. I inked over my background with a light hand making sure I didn't get any on my colored images. I did the same with the grass stencil and once that was complete I felt that I needed some more blades of grass so I added them in with my Copics.

For the sentiment, I used an Avery Elle thanks die with some gorgeous Tonic plum colored paper. I finished off the card with some white gel pen detail and some Fun-Fetti hearts by CAS-ual Fridays.

Thanks so much for taking the time! Have a great week!

Simon Says Stamp Friendly Frolic!

Happy Thursday! Today is new release day over at Simon Says Stamp - Friendly Frolic is now live!

I was luck enough to get to play with the new Sketch Lotus Flowers! This set has my heart not only because of the fabulous bouquet but the sentiments in this set are fantastic! I can see myself using this set ALL the time for important women in my life.

I received my set a few days prior to leaving on vacation so I was only able to play a little bit and made one card. I can't wait to get home so that I can create more with this set. I see these flowers on Kraft with my Polychromos and more!

I opted for rainbow colors with my Copics for this card, there are just enough flowers and greenery! I used the "flicking" technique which I love for flowers, it gives great highlights. Once I was done coloring, I die cut my panel with the Avery Elle Wonky Stitched Rectangles.  I place my panel in my stamp platform and aligned my sentiment and stamped it with Versafine Onyx Black Ink.

Once that was complete I added some Sparkling Clear Sequins and some White Gel pen detail. Go check out the new release, I am so sure you will love it!

Thanks for taking the time!

Happy Wednesday crafty friends! Today is my first official day of a month-long summer break! So excited and it's time for a new Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge!

Before we get to this weeks fun challenge have you seen the Summer Kids Challenge going on now! The theme is Anything Goes with Sparkle! Click the link above or the logo below for more details!

Encourage your younger loved ones to enter for a chance to win one of three grab bags! This challenge is such fun!

Come join in on the fun, you have the chance of winning a $50 gift card to the fantastic Simon Says Stamp store!

Now for this weeks challenge Simon Says: Use a Die or Punch! The design team is featuring Birch Press designs you don't have to use them but if you have them we would love to see them :)

For my project today I used the gorgeous Mandala Layer Stencil by Birch Press with some Altenew Sweet Dreams ink cubes and my round blending tools.  I love the colors in this ink set and I just love the effect it gave the stencil. Once that was complete, I die cut my panel using the largest Avery Elle Wonky Stitched Rectangle.

This was such a fast card to put together I decided to use this beautiful Birch Press Big Hugs Sugar Script die as my sentiment. For the background of the die I used Lawn Fawn Black Licorice card stock and Tonic Tropical Tide glitter paper for the top Hugs die.

Once that was added to the panel I opted for the "Friend" sentiment from a Simon Says Stamp Brand Exclusive Spring Flower Burst (I partially stamped that sentiment with Versamark ink). I then used my Nuvo White embossing powder and poped it up with foam tape as I did with the Hugs die. And that was it, super quick and I love the effect of this card!

All of the products are listed and linked bellow!

Altenew - Fabulous You!

Happy Friday crafty friends! I am in beautiful downtown Edmonton Alberta this weekend for work. Fall has arrived in Alberta, the sun is shinning and flowers are gone :(

But this beautiful new Altenew stamp set called Fabulous You from the Simon Says Stamp Stamptember exclusives inspired me to create last weekend.

This is another of their fantastic layering sets. I started by stamping the base of the flower with Lawn Fawn Jet Black ink (I know I wanted to add some Copic shading). I then stamped the second layer of the flower with Lawn Fawn Ballet Slippers Ink and the second layer of the leaves with Lawn Fawn Celery Stick Ink.

I then chose some Copics that were slightly darker to add some shading and I really like the way it turned out.  I then used my Misti to stamp my sentiment from the same stamp set with VersaMark in and then gold embossed it. I then finished off my project with some gold Pretty Pink Posh sequins.

Thanks for taking the time!

Simon Says Stamp Flickr Challenge!

I have not had much time over the last few months to craft, it is time for that to stop and my goal is to participate more in challenges this fall.  The new challenge over on the Simon Says Stamp Flickr page is dots and/or stripes. I had quite a bit of craft time last weekend so I made one for this challenge!

I decided on the fantastic Spring Flowers and More Spring Flowers for this project. I used the SSS Rose Gold Embossing Powder on some Bristol Cardstock and instead of colouring them traditionally, I decided to try ink blending with my Distress Inks. Bristol paper is ideal for this type of ink blending. I die cut my images with the corresponding dies.

I then took a piece of Neena Solar White 80 lbs and die cut it using my favourite Avery Elle Wonky Stitched Rectangle and a Lawn Fawn stitched oval. I added some black and white striped pattern paper and then placed my flowers around the opening.  Once my flowers were attached I decided to add a few of the dots from the Spring Flowers set and coloured them in with my black Gellyroller.

I felt like I need a bold sentiment so I die cut a strip of black card stock and white embossed one of my favourite sentiments by SSS from the older Flower Friend stamp set. I place my banner with foam tape and finished it off with some sequins from the SSS July card kit in the centre.

Thanks for taking the time!

Birthday selfies for a friend!

Happy Fri-yay! I am so happy, I took a long weekend I go back to the office only Tuesday! Lots of crafty time this weekend!

This card is a birthday card for a dear friend and when I saw that MFT set with the "believe in your selfie" sentiment I knew it was meant for her!

The "Bellas" in the selfies are by Stamping Bella, I do believe the two on the right are discontinued but the Audrey Hepburn bella may still be available. I Copic colored my images and die cut them from the Mama Elephant small polaroid die. I then die cut the white frame and the backing frame from Lawn Fawn cardstock (the new Rainbow Plaid paper pack). I lightly inked my plaid stencil on the background panel and then die cut it using my go-to Wonky Stitched Rectangle die by Avery Elle. I then stamped my sentiment in Versafine onyx black and Simon Says Stamp Doll Pink. I put the frames on the base panel and added a little washy tape to the top.

I added a few Lawn Fawn hearts and some sequins to finish off the card!

Thanks for taking the time!

Altenew Flowers

It's Friday!!! I have been fighting a cold for over a week, can't tell you enough how happy I am that it's the weekend!!

My project today features the beautiful Altenew Painted Flowers stamp set. I am simply in love with anything floral by Altenew and their inks with the layering sets are just perfect! The lighting in my craft room was interesting when I took the picture, I tried to adjust as best as I could so my apologies.

I am really focusing on spring colours, puts me in my happy place :)  All of the inks for the flowers are the Altenew cubes. I die cut the sentiment by Mama Elephant twice, once out of black and once out of gold shiny card stock and offset it when I glued it together for a shaded effect. I then gold embossed the birthday sentiment.  finished it off with Pretty Pink Posh gold sequins!

Simple card to make, like I mentioned the layering stamps and the inks from Altenew take the guesswork out of any project!

Have a great weekend and thanks for taking the time!
I'll be back on Monday :)

CASual Friday's - New Challenge 1 in 8!

Time for another challenge over at the CAS-ual Friday's Challenge blog!  October is breast cancer awareness month and for those of you who know CAS-ual Friday's and its' owner Michele Gross you will know that she is a breast cancer survivor!  She also released this wonderful line of stamps "Calling all Sistahs" to raise awareness and encourage women to have regular check-ups. October being breast cancer awareness month well, expect to see lots o' pink and that is just how it should be!

The challenge is 1 in 8 as the statistic is that 1 in 8 women will go through this in their lifetime. My 8 on this card is hope, because we should all have hope for health, for a cure and hope to put an end to all cancers.

I used the Hope Ribbon stamp set and the Fri-die along with the Hope Fri-die. I die cut seven black and one white Hope on which I used Picked Raspberry Distress Ink with an ombré effect. I used the same ink on the ribbon but the cardstock is a pale pink.

Join us at the CAS-ual Fridays Challenge blog for the chance to win $25 worth of CAS-ual Fridays Stamps and, drum roll please... Michelle with double the prize if you use CAS-ual Fridays stamps!

Thanks so much for taking the time!

Altenew - Kraft w/Prismacolor pencils

A quick post today to share a card I made using Altenew stamps on Kraft Paper with my Prismacolor Pencils.

This is one of my favourite combinations for flowers.  There is something about Prismacolour Pencils and Kraft paper that make me happy! I am not usually a "Yellow or Orange" kind of person but with fall here I felt this mix was just right.  I used MFT Kraft coloured hybrid ink and the Altenew Beautiful Day stamp set. I also usually use gamsol with my Prismacolors but I picked up the blender that is manufactured by Prismacolor (go figure I bought the big momma 150 set and they don't provide the blender... but that would be my only comment about my Prismacolor pencils :) The die cut frame is by Avery Elle and if you follow my blog, you know that it is pretty much my favourite.  The sentiment is also from the same Altenew stamp set and I stamped that in Versafine Onyx Black Ink. I finished off the card with a mix of Pretty Pink Posh sequins.

Thanks for taking the time!

Owls!

I found this stamp at my local scrapbook store - Scrapbook Centrale. It's by Prickley Pear a new company to me. I just feel in love with these sweet owls!

I stamped my image with Hot Fudge MFT hybrid ink and used an Altenew branch to extend it.  I cut masks out of full PostIts to mask the owls and leaves.  I used a mix of distress inks for the moon and the sky.  I then Copic coloured my owls and leaves and the shadows on the moon! The sentiment is by Lawn Fawn which I white embossed! The Wonky Frame is by Avery Elle.

Love this stamp!

Thanks for taking the time!

Simon Says Stamp!

I have been wanting this stamp set for a while!!! I was so excited when they introduced the matching dies which made it impossible for me not to order the set :)

The Simon Says Flickr Challenge is all about colouring this week! For those of you that have heard and/or participated in the Kathy Racoosin 30-day colouring challenge, Simon Says Stamp has set the challenge theme in honour of her fun 30-day challenge. I have yet to be able to participate actively because this day job of mine makes it difficult for me to have time everyday even if it is simply to colour an image! LOL

I used my Copics for the flowers and leaves, I love to colour and Copics, Zig Clean Colour and my Prismacolor pencils are my favourite and yes, in that order.  I used the Spring Flowers SSS stamp set and the sentiment is from the SSS Big Birthday Wishes. The panel and banner are both from Avery Elle. I topped everything off with PPP sequins!

Thanks for taking the time!

Penny Black Scented Beauty

I am on a Zig Clean Color Brush Marker binge lately!! Along with that, I am so obsessed with Penny Black flowers probably because it is finally feeling like summer :)

I am trying to practice no-line watercoloring... I usually just use my Zigs without water because they blend like a dream but I am trying to push myself to do other techniques!  I always use Strathmore Bristol paper with my Zigs, I just find it the best with those markers.  I die cut my panel (Avery Elle Wonky Stitched die) and used my Misti to place the Slapstick Cling stamp at the angle I wanted. I used Antique Linen Distress ink and stamped it twice to see the definition of the roses better.

This card is for my favourite aunt who is battling dementia her birthday is soon and she loves getting my cards in the mail, so this one is extra special to me. She is French Canadian so the sentiment is by a Quebec stamp company called Limecitron.

Thanks for taking the time!

Penny Black Fresh with Zig Clean Color Brush Pens

Here is a card using Penny Black's Fresh cling stamp and my Zig Clean Color Brush Pens.

I die cut my panel from Strathmore Bristol Cardstock, it is my favourite to use with the Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers.  The stamp is Penny Black's Fresh Slapstick Cling with Versamark and White embossing powder. I used two shades of Pink, Orange and Red for each flower and my water brush to smooth everything out.  The sentiment is from Hero Arts stamped in Versafine Black Onyx ink and finished it off with Pretty Pink Posh sparkling clear sequins!

Thanks for taking the time!

MFT Snuggle Bunnies!

I just picked up the My Favorite Things Snuggle Bunnies stamp set! So very happy that my local store received this set! I am just waiting for the dies that go with these SWEET images!

I started with a panel of Canson Watercolor paper and used a mix of Weathered Wood, Iced Spruce and just a hint of Stormy Sky Distress inks for my background.  I sprayed the panel with my Distress Sprayer which gave that stormy sky effect.  I then die cut another panel of the same cardstock for the hills and water.  Also used Distress for both, Antique Linen, Gathered Twigs and a bit of Ground Espresso for the "beach" and Tumbled Glass and a touch of Salty Ocean for the water.  I stamped my images from Snuggle Bunny with MFT Hybrid Kraft ink and used my Prismacolor pencils and Gambol to colour them in and added some black to emphasize part of the images then I fussy cut them.  I decided to mute the background a little by die cutting a vellum panel and I die cut some Lawn Fawn clouds. The sentiment was embossed in white and is by Mama Elephant.  The rocks and leaves are by Lawn Fawn.  A sprinkle of stars and sequins finish off the design.

Thanks for taking the time!

Penny Black Hello

I simply love Penny Black flowers, there is just something about them that makes me want to reach for them regularly.  Here is a new one that I picked-up over the weekend at my Scrapbook store, Scrapbook Centrale.

The bouquet is Penny Black's Elegance in Motion #40-440. I used my Misti to be able to double stamp my MFT Black Hybrid ink and to place the stamp on an angle.  I picked some Copic markers and used a "flicking" motion to be able to have the white space in the centre of the petals and leaves. The "Hello" die is by Simon Says Stamp, the Wonky Frame die is by Avery Elle (cut from Neena Solar White 80lb cardstock)  I then added some sequins...surprise! Don't know what I did before sequins!!

Thanks for taking the time!

Sending Hugs

Nice long Easter weekend! Enjoying some quiet time before a mega line-up of family suppers! I had some fun with my Zig Clean Color Brush Pens and Mama Elephant Freestyle Florals! I am in dire need of signs of spring!

I started with Strathmore Bristol paper. I die cut my panel using my favourite Wonky Stitched Frame die by Avery Elle. I used my Misti to stamp my florals on both the panel and masks. I masked the original front flower to stamp the other two then masked those to stamp the leaves. I coloured my images with my Zigs, I just love the blending these pens offer! To finish off the card I die cut a Simon Says Stamp "Sending" die (one of my favourites) and an SSS "hugs" stamp. I scattered some Pretty Pink Posh sequins and some Martha Stewart hearts.

Happy long weekend to all!

Thanks for taking the time,
Kim

Easter!

Happy Easter! I can't believe it is already time for Easter, maybe it's earlier than usual... I simply fell in love with this Penny Black Elegance slapstick cling Calla Lilly. I figured my parents' Easter Card should be made from a stamp called elegance!

I die cut my rectangle (Wonky Stitched Frame die by Avery Elle) from Bristol paper because I wanted to use my Zig Clean Brush Pens. I stamped the Calla with my Misti stamp tool for the angle, I then used some light grey Zig pens to define the white of the Calla Lily with my water pen. Added a little yellow in the centres and brown in the middle. I then coloured the stems and leaves and used a light mint green for the surround of the bouquet. The sentiment is an older one and I am not sure what company. I finished it off with a mix of Pretty Pink Posh sequins and Martha Stewart yellow flat hearts.

Thanks for taking the time!

Sweet Baby Girl!

Made this one for a sweet new baby girl! Why are baby cards so fun to make :)

My background panels (Neena and Vellum) were both cut with my large Avery Elle Wonky Stitched die. I used a small striped background stamp on my Neena Panel with the Mama Elephant Piggy Bank Pigment Ink.  I also used the smaller Wonky Stitched die (same set) for my feature panel, I then stamped the Hero Arts Brushed Frame wood stamp in Simon Says Stamp Fog ink. I then filled the top left corner with some stars from Waffle Flower Bowtiful stamp set (cluster of small stars) and a few Lawn Fawn Stars also in the same fog ink. The cute bunny bear is from Mama Elephant Honey Bunny set and I Copic coloured her. Topped everything of with PPP sequins, Lawn Fawn Twine and the pink heart is also from Honey Bunny stamped in Piggy Bank ink.

Thanks for taking the time!
