Christmas Tags with Mama Elephant Holiday Bitties

Happy Friday! Sharing some quick sweet tags featuring new and older Mama Elephant products!

I love making Christmas tags! So many sweet options to personalize your gift packages.  Today, I am sharing these featuring all Mama Elephant stamps and dies.

I have been wanting to play with the Holiday Bitties stamp set so last weekend I was on a tag mission and I finally stamped some of these cute images.

I started by die cutting my Neena 110lbs with a tag from the Mama Elephant Framed Tags Union Squares, the set is really fantastic it has a square scalloped die and some accessories including this two part tag which can die cut a stitched opening panel on the top of the tag. And I also die cut the full tag only for the backing.

I then stamped all of the images I selected from the Holiday Bitties set and stamped them out and colored with my Copics. I added some white gel pen detail, some glossy accents and some Nuvo White Blizzard glitter drops on a few of the elements.

For the tag toppers I used a set from Mama Elephant called Winter Taggins that includes other tag dies and this fantastic foliage for the tops of the tags.

To finish off I used a mix of Lawn Trimmings and twine from my stash!

Simon Says: Thanks/Thanksgiving

It's Wednesday crafty friends and that means it's time for a new Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge!

This week Simon Says: Thanks/Thanksgiving! The design team is featuring fantastic Altenew products, it isn't a requirement to use them but if you have them we would love to see them!

Come join in on the fun, you have the chance of winning a $50 gift card to the fantastic Simon Says Stamp store!

Canadian Thanksgiving is in October so for my card this week I opted to underline the importance of Remembrance Day which, we celebrate on November 11 annually.  For those of you that may be unaware, most Commonwealth countries (and certain others) celebrate this very important day and the Poppy is the symbol for honouring those who have died in conflict. This year marks the 100th anniversary as WWI ended at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month in 1918.

There is a famous poem and incidentally my favourite poem by Lieutenant-Colonel John McCrae who was a Canadian physician (he served in WWI) called In Flanders Fields which is where he indicates the symbolism of the Poppy.

So I thought the Altenew Painted Poppy set would be perfect for my project today.  I stamped out my poppies with Distress Antique Linen Ink so that I could practice my no-line watercoloring with the new Altenew water-colours (LOVE these paints). I haven't practiced this in a while but I am happy with the way the poppies turned out.

Once they were dry, I decided to use watered down Distress Paint in Picket Fence, Black Soot and Antique Bronze and flicked some paint splotches on my card panel (which is Tim Holtz watercolor paper)

Once that was all dry, I chose this perfect sentiment from the Simon Says Stamp Exclusive Thanks and Leaves set (from the November Card Kit which there are a few still available I linked the gorgeous kit below and I also linked the stamp set as a stand alone) I used my magic powder bag and embossed the Thank You with bronze embossing powder and embossed the secondary sentiment with white on black cardstock.

To finish my card I added some Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins and some White Blizzard Nuvo Glitter drops to the centres.

Christmas Tags featuring Sunny Studio products!

Happy Monday! I am having some fun getting some holiday tags together. Today I have a set that I made using from some super fun Sunny Studio products.

These mittens are just too sweet and their tag set (they have a second set of square tags available as well) has some fantastic accessories.

I started by die cutting both some Neena Solar White for the green and blue tags and some Lawn Fawn Vanilla Malt for the red and pink tag with one of the basic tags from the Build-a-Tag 1 Snippets Dies by Sunny Studio.  I also die cut the topper and bottom of the tag with some fantastic Sunny Studio pattern paper.

I then die-cut my mittens from some different Lawn Fawn cardstock and added some distress inks to them for some shading.  I also die cut the accessories for the mittens in some glitter cardstock and some mirror cardstock in complementary colors. I put everything together and decided to add a sentiment from the Simon Says Stamp Tiny Words Christmas set on a small Mama Elephant tag die.

I finished everything off with some Lawn Trimmings. All of the products used are listed and linked below. Affiliate links are used at no extra cost to you!

Penguin wishes!

Happy Friday crafty friends! We have a rainy weekend in store for us in Montréal so I have decided to hibernate to my craft room! Woot! Who's with me?

I am in love with the new MFT Sweet Holiday Penguins stamp set! These images are so sweet, I will be making a series of Christmas cards using these for sure! I started by die-cutting my Neena 80lbs card stock using the larger of the Avery Elle Wonky Stitched rectangle die.  I then stamped my cutie penguin with Lawn Fawn Jet Black ink so that I could color with my Copic markers (all colors listed and linked below).

I then used my stamp positioner (to re-stamp if needed) to stamp my sentiment from the Hand-Lettered Holiday Greetings also by My Favorite Things using Lawn Fawn Lobster ink.

I felt the card was missing something so I added the berries and foliage also from the Hand-Lettered Holiday Greetings stamp set by MFT with the Lobster ink and Hero Arts Fresh Lawn ink. I added some snow flakes and sequins from the Hero Arts Snow and Berries pack and finished off the card with some white gel pen detail, glossy accents and Nuvo White Blizzard drops.

25 Days of Christmas Tags!

Happy Thursday crafty friends and welcome to day one of the 25 Days of Christmas Tags event hosted by Tracey McNeeley aka In My Creative Opinion ! This is the 8th year that Tracey has hosted this event and Simon Says Stamp is thrilled to get the ball rolling on Day 1!

By joining in with the event YOU could win a $50 gift card to Simon Says Stamp! How awesome is that! ;-)

I chose the beautiful poinsettia from the Simon Says Stamp Winter Flowers set. I love this series of flowers by Simon Says Stamp, the dot detail on them is such fun.  I first stamped my poinsettia in Copic friendly ink with my stamp postioner and colored it with my favorite christmas reds. I then created a mask and partially cut it out to stamp my leaves. I used my second stamp positioner to stamp the leaves once again in the black ink and colored them in.

Once that was done I re-stamped the pointsettia with Versamark Ink and used gold embossing powder. I followed the same steps for the leaves.

I then die cut my tag and again with Tonic specialty paper. I used the same Tonic paper and embossed my sentiment from the Tiny Word Christmas set in white. I used foam tape to place the strip on the tag. I used a some Lawn Trimmings in Peppermint and some ribbon from my stash for the topper.

Simon Says: Anything Goes featuring Simon's brand exclusives!

Happy Wednesday crafty friends that means it's time for a new Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge!

This week Simon Says: Anything Goes! The design team is featuring Simon Says Stamp Exclusive brand products, it isn't a requirement to use them but if you have them we would love to see them!

Come join in on the fun, you have the chance of winning a $50 gift card to the fantastic Simon Says Stamp store!

I just had to use this gorgeous Sketched Flower by Simon Says Stamp. I am in LOVE with that stamp set.  I used my Misti Stamping Tool to stamp my flower and colored in the flowers with my Faber Castel Polychromos (another love of mine!) This was such a relaxing process and I simply adore those pencils.

Once I was done coloring I put my Neena Desert Storm piece back in my Misti and stamped my flower again with Versamerk ink and embossed my gold powder. I love the effect of gold embossing powder on Kraft. I then die cut my panel using the Mama Elephant Cloud Nine frame die.  I chose a sentiment from the MFT Woodland Creatures set and stamped it on a Lawn Fawn Banner die cut from Black Licorice cardstock.

Once that was complete I used foam tape for my sentiment banner and then glued my panel to a card base.  To finish off the card I added some Pretty Pink Posh gold sequins in both 4 and 6 mm.

I added some gel pen detail to my background and that was it. I am super happy with the way it turned out and this one is in the mail to a dear friend.

Bling it out!

Happy Monday! I have not participated in a challenge is such a long time! When I saw the current Lawnfawnatics Challenge was Bling it Out I just had to play.

I picked-up these Lawn Fawn Stitched Ornament dies last year and I never had a chance to play with them. I thought this would be a fun challenge to finally break them out. I die cut six ornaments (for the front and back) from Lawn Fawn Vanilla Malt cardstock.

I then die cut the fronts with the medium and large stitched "x" die from the same ornament set.I also used the new Lawn Fawn Glitter cardstock and die cut the diamond shape banner and the hearts banner and the toppers. Once those were glued to the tags I stamped my sentiment from the Reveal Wheel Christmas sentiments set in coordinating glitter embossing powders

To finish off the tag and to add some more "bling" I used some diamond dust on the tops and bottoms and finished them all off with Pretty Pink Posh Jewels in coordinating colors.
