Simon Says: Anything Goes featuring Simon's brand exclusives!

Happy Wednesday crafty friends that means it's time for a new Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge!

This week Simon Says: Anything Goes! The design team is featuring Simon Says Stamp Exclusive brand products, it isn't a requirement to use them but if you have them we would love to see them!

Come join in on the fun, you have the chance of winning a $50 gift card to the fantastic Simon Says Stamp store!

I just had to use this gorgeous Sketched Flower by Simon Says Stamp. I am in LOVE with that stamp set.  I used my Misti Stamping Tool to stamp my flower and colored in the flowers with my Faber Castel Polychromos (another love of mine!) This was such a relaxing process and I simply adore those pencils.

Once I was done coloring I put my Neena Desert Storm piece back in my Misti and stamped my flower again with Versamerk ink and embossed my gold powder. I love the effect of gold embossing powder on Kraft. I then die cut my panel using the Mama Elephant Cloud Nine frame die.  I chose a sentiment from the MFT Woodland Creatures set and stamped it on a Lawn Fawn Banner die cut from Black Licorice cardstock.

Once that was complete I used foam tape for my sentiment banner and then glued my panel to a card base.  To finish off the card I added some Pretty Pink Posh gold sequins in both 4 and 6 mm.

I added some gel pen detail to my background and that was it. I am super happy with the way it turned out and this one is in the mail to a dear friend.

Winter Rose on Kraft!

Happy Monday crafty friends! I hope you had a great weekend with some time for crafting :)

As I mentioned in my last post, I ordered some Windsor and Newton Gouache following a tutorial by Dawn from WPlus9 during the Online Card Class, Making Merry.  I really did not need a new colouring medium, lol! But the fact that it paints so beautifully on dark card stock made me have to try it! You really should check out the Online Card Classes they are fantastic.

I decided to try the Winter Rose Bouquet by WPlus9 on Kraft card stock, the last project I had completed with these was a much smaller image. I enjoyed using the gouache much more on an image of this size.  I am pretty happy with the way it turned out for a second attempt with the gouache.  I purchased the starter 10 color pack and mixed the colors to get better variations.

I didn't want the sentiment to detract from the painted flowers so I opted for the new MFT Joy die with some green mirrored card stock also by MFT I believe. I also added some gold detail to the flower centres with my Gellyroller pen.

Thanks so much for taking the time and have a great week!

Christmas in July

Happy Friday crafty friends! Friday = a new CAS-ual Fridays Challenge! This week it is Christmas in July! Almost feels like winter here, has not been the best summer weather so far...

I love Prismacolor pencils on Kraft! So I chose this fantastic mistletoe stamp from the CAS-ual Friday Mistletoe and Holly stamp set. I started by embossing my sentiment from the same stamp set with Ranger red glitter embossing powder. I then stamped my mistletoe with Versafine Onyx black ink repeatadly to create my background. To blend my colored pencils I used Gamsol, I love the effect it gives to the image.  I then used white liquid perfect pearls to make the berries pop, put my card together and topped it off with some red Pretty Pink Posh shiny sequins.

Neat and Tangled Valentine's Day Tag!

Happy Monday! Kim with you this morning and I can't believe Valentine's Day is around the corner, 2017 is going by fast! My project today features the wonderful Neat and Tangled My Favorite Nut stamp set and dies :)

I thought the size and dimensions of the acorn with the squirrels was perfect to make my husbands Valentine's Day gift tag! I am in love with this set and the tag dimension is perfect. I colored the images with my Copics and used more caramel colours for the bottom and traditional browns for the top. I decided on warm greys for the squirrels to make them stand out.  I then did some surgery for the sentiment because I felt the "you are my nut" represented the recipient well! Lol! I embossed the sentiment in white. I then felt the tag needed some hearts, so I used a mix of Lawn Fawn heart dies to finish off the tag!

I used my We R Memory Keepers hole punch and then made the box out of Kraft card stock using my gift box punch board (also by We R Memory Keepers). Then attached the tag with Lawn Fawn Peppermint Twine and natural twine.

I think he will get a kick out of this! Have a great week!

Last minute Christmas projects with CAS-ual Fridays Stamps

This is the time when many crafters are in the process of completing last minute holiday projects!  I am certainly not the exception!

I am sharing a tag today that I made for my husband, I usually like to mass produce tags and have them on-hand for any last minute gifts. But, I figured that he should have a special "one and only" tag and the Mistletoe and Holly set by CAS-ual Fridays was perfect!!

I stamped the mistletoe in MFT Black Hybrid Ink and used my trusty Prismacolor Pencils to colour in the image.  The white berries looked ok with the pencil but I added liquid pearl drops to make them a little more dimensional.  I then stamped my sentiment with VersaMark Ink and used Red Glitter embossing powder by Ranger I believe. Put my tag together added some festive ribbon and bells and, of course, Sparkling Clear Sequins by Pretty Pink Posh!

I will be back this week with a few more holiday projects before Christmas!

Thanks for taking the time!

Time for another Cas-ual Friday's Challenge :)

Happy Friday all! One more week of work for me then I am lucky enough to have a two-week break with family and friends. I can't wait to recharge my batteries for 2017!

I always love a new challenge over at CAS-ual Friday's :) My project this week features the fantastic Funny Flakes dies.  I am simply in-love with these dies, the design of the snowflakes is amazing! This is my second project this week featuring them and I will have more between now and Christmas!

The challenge this week is CFC163 - Christmas and Hanukkah

I made seven of these tags in a variety of colours, I just couldn't stop! Lol I have a picture lower in this post that shows the seven tags.  I used a variety of glitter paper and shiny cardstock for my snowflake dies and I decided to use Kraft to really showcase the design of those dies.  The sentiment is from the fantastic CAS-ual Friday's Snowy Sayings set and I embossed all of the sentiments in white. I put a variety of sequins in the centre of the snowflakes, some twine and voila!

Stamping Bella

I am seriously in love with Prismacolor on Kraft! This stamp is by Stamping Bella, I have always loved these bellas and the design of them has changed slightly over the years - they have more detail now.

This card is for a teenage girl, so I felt that the teal/pool color was the "trendiest" choice... Although I adore the red/pool mix for Christmas.  The sentiment is from CAS-ual Friday's and I die cut it from MFT glitter paper (my favourite glitter paper).

Here is a close-up of the Bella. I finished the card off with a mix of sequins and embellishments.

CFC160 - Kraft

Time for a new challenge over at Casual Fridays :) What a better challenge then a Fall type color challenge! This time you must feature Orange, Brown and Kraft! I struggle with orange, so this was a fun project for me to get me out of my comfort zone!!

I do however, love Kraft paper! For this one I kept my flowers and leaves from the Pretty Posies stamp set pretty plain by stamping them with Chocolate Fudge MFT ink. Although the details on those beautiful flowers are not plain, I just love them! I then stamped the smallest butterfly from the Casual Fridays Butterbows stamp set with MFT Tangy Orange ink. I was worried about the Hybrid ink on Kraft but I love the way the orange really shows nicely! I used the Thanks die from the Smiling Fri-die set and die cut it on Orange and Brown paper and mounted the sentiment on some fun foam for dimension. I put the card together then stamped the Many sentiment from the Thanks stamp set. I finished it all off with Pretty Pink posh sequins.

Altenew - Kraft w/Prismacolor pencils

A quick post today to share a card I made using Altenew stamps on Kraft Paper with my Prismacolor Pencils.

This is one of my favourite combinations for flowers.  There is something about Prismacolour Pencils and Kraft paper that make me happy! I am not usually a "Yellow or Orange" kind of person but with fall here I felt this mix was just right.  I used MFT Kraft coloured hybrid ink and the Altenew Beautiful Day stamp set. I also usually use gamsol with my Prismacolors but I picked up the blender that is manufactured by Prismacolor (go figure I bought the big momma 150 set and they don't provide the blender... but that would be my only comment about my Prismacolor pencils :) The die cut frame is by Avery Elle and if you follow my blog, you know that it is pretty much my favourite.  The sentiment is also from the same Altenew stamp set and I stamped that in Versafine Onyx Black Ink. I finished off the card with a mix of Pretty Pink Posh sequins.

CFC154 - Time to Color!

It's time to color over at the CAS-ual Fridays Challenge!!! I love to color, my favourite mediums are Copics, Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens and Prismacolor Pencils! I used my Prismacolor on Kraft for this one and I love the way it turned out!

I adore the Pretty Posies stamp set! I thought using the flowers and outlining them in white would really feature the beautiful design of the flowers and leaves.  The sentiment is from Calling All Sistahs, this, I must say, is one of the reasons I love CAS-ual Fridays stamps. There is an underlining "support your ladies" theme for all of Michelle's sets of which I am a big fan.  Most of the cards I make for my best girlfriends have CAS-ual Friday's sentiments. Let's face it we all need encouragement in one way or another at certain points in our lives. I stamped the sentiment in Versafine Onyx Black ink and outlined it freehand in white pencil to emphasize it. This card will go in the mail to a friend who lives far away but is facing a difficult decision.
