Spiderman!

Happy Wednesday crafty friends! They are announcing a massive storm over the weekend for Montreal - call me crazy but I love weekend storms I can hibernate in the craft room! LOL

My local scrapbook store received a series of Marvel comics dies and the Harry Potter series. I purchased a few to try them and I plan on getting more!

I started with Spiderman and Iron Man - I had to have these dies, they are perfect for my husband and nephews! I was so happy with the way this turned out, my husband's birthday is next week and he will be so happy with this! I die cut the Spiderman from both MFT Cherry Crisp and the Lawn Fawn Blue Jay card stocks. I simply had to snip a few lines and was easily able to paper piece the image. I added some highlight with my C3 Copic Sketch and some Nuvo White for the eyes (which I outlined with a black gel pen)

I used Bristol paper for my background with a mix of Salty Ocean, Faded Jeans, Wilted Violet and Black Soot Distress Oxide inks. I then used my Distress Sprayer for the sky.  My buildings dies are by Paper Smooches and the Happy Birthday is a new one I picked up from Simon Says Stamp. I die cut the sentiment from some new Tonic white Glitter paper (love all the Tonic specialty papers, they rock). All in all a very easy project!

Thanks so much for taking the time!

Fall Tone on Tone Birthday card

Happy Friday crafty friends! Any crafting plans for the weekend? I am hoping to lock myself into my craft room at least for a bit :)

Today's card was inspired by a tutorial May Park provided for the Online Card Classes "Making Merry" class.  I am never able to follow the classes "live" due to work, so I catch it when I can and this project really inspired me for this tone on tone birthday card.

I started by picking the Lawn Fawn Raspberry card stock for my panel and card base. I simply love Lawn Fawn card stock, by far my favourite and this colour makes me smile!  I then decided to pull out some old Paper Smooches stamps that I had in my stash for the leafy/floral background.  For the ink colour I chose the Hero Arts Raspberry Jam dye ink. I placed my stamps using my Misti stamped one side then flipped my panel and stamped the second side.

From one of the same stamp sets I took the "berries" or three dots and stamped them using clear embossing ink and added gold embossing powder.  I then die cut the MFT Celebrate die with gold mirror paper (with fun foam and StickIt for dimension). I stamped the Happy Birthday sentiment from the Mama Elephant set that was a free gift with purchase during their 5-year birthday sale in VersaFine Onyx Black Ink. Popped the strip up with some foam tape.

I finished the project with a scattering of gold Pretty Pink Posh sequins.
Thanks for taking the time and have a great weekend!

Making multiples of one design

Happy Sunday! I am working on a series of Holiday cards for a company that uses my cards as their Holiday Greetings to customers! I recently ordered the Misti Stamp Tool by My Sweet Petunia and I don't know what I did before! I like to make a set of five for each design and using this makes my life so much simpler!

For this one I used a series of snowflakes and the greeting from the PS Fresh Snow stamp set that was released a few years ago, I love the design of these snowflakes. I used Ranger glitter embossing powder for the snowflakes and sentiment added a few white dots with my Sakura White Gellyroller. The diagonal lines on the card base were created with an MFT stencil and MFT Wild Cherry Hybrid ink (my favourite red for Christmas). Finished them off with a sparkling of PPP sequins!

Thanks for taking the time!
