Celebrate with MFT and Doodlebug

Happy Monday crafty friends! I was away for work and back yesterday and I needed to unwind so I pulled out my MFT Bold Blossom stamp set and decided to play!

My inspiration for this project was the gorgeous Dooblebug pattern paper! Polka dots are my absolute favorite and this paper had my little heart go pitter patter.

I started by stamping my MFT flowers with a mix of Catherine Pooler inks that matched the colors of the pattern paper and die cut them with the coordinating dies.

I decided that a matching gold sentiment would be so pretty with the gold dots so I die cut the MFT Celebrate from gold Tonic Mirror card stock and some fun foam for dimension. I decided to use one of the MFT scalloped border dies for my panel.

I glued my pattern paper on the card base. I then assembled the flowers and sentiment on the top panel. I placed it on the card base with foam tape for added dimension and I topped everything off with some Pretty Pink Posh gold sequins!

Thanks for taking the time all the products are listed and linked below.

Fall Tone on Tone Birthday card

Happy Friday crafty friends! Any crafting plans for the weekend? I am hoping to lock myself into my craft room at least for a bit :)

Today's card was inspired by a tutorial May Park provided for the Online Card Classes "Making Merry" class.  I am never able to follow the classes "live" due to work, so I catch it when I can and this project really inspired me for this tone on tone birthday card.

I started by picking the Lawn Fawn Raspberry card stock for my panel and card base. I simply love Lawn Fawn card stock, by far my favourite and this colour makes me smile!  I then decided to pull out some old Paper Smooches stamps that I had in my stash for the leafy/floral background.  For the ink colour I chose the Hero Arts Raspberry Jam dye ink. I placed my stamps using my Misti stamped one side then flipped my panel and stamped the second side.

From one of the same stamp sets I took the "berries" or three dots and stamped them using clear embossing ink and added gold embossing powder.  I then die cut the MFT Celebrate die with gold mirror paper (with fun foam and StickIt for dimension). I stamped the Happy Birthday sentiment from the Mama Elephant set that was a free gift with purchase during their 5-year birthday sale in VersaFine Onyx Black Ink. Popped the strip up with some foam tape.

I finished the project with a scattering of gold Pretty Pink Posh sequins.
Thanks for taking the time and have a great weekend!

World Card Making Day!

Happy Saturday crafty friends! I love world card Making Day! Works out well that it's the long Thanksgiving weekend here in Canada and that the weather is grey and soon to be rainy! I never really need an excuse to hide and play in my craft room but today is a full day of crafting then turkey:)

I am following the fun on-line celebration today one of my morning projects is inspired by the first My Favorite Things challenge ROYGBIV - Rainbows!

My inspiration came from the MFT Celebrate die (which I just picked up this week). I die cut it from Neena with fun foam and had fun with my Distress Inks to create my rainbow.  I then felt these adorable Bitty Bears would pair perfectly :)  The stitched scallop border die is also from MFT as is the diagonal background stamp I used with clear embossing for the black card stock accent panel.

Not only are those bears too cute, they are very quick to color with my Copics. I used the matching dies and put my card together. I finished off my project with Sparkling Clear Sequins!

Going back to check on more challenges! MFT will have four total today I believe! Happy card making!

Thanks for taking the time!

Avery Elle Gummy Bear!

The challenge this month over at AEIheartU is Friendship! I just fell in love with the Avery Elle Beary Sweet Wishes set, who doesn't love a good gummy bear!

I started with Tim Holtz watercolor paper and die cut the panel with the Avery Elle Wonky Stitched rectangle die. I then die cut the centre with an oval die.  I white embossed (Zing powder) the Sweet from the Avery Elle Celebrate set repeatedly, once the powder was set I used Distress Inks (Twisted Citron, Cracked Pistachio and Peacock Feathers) I then sprayed the background with my Distress Sprayer. While that dried I embossed the oval with my new We R Memory Keepers next level embossing folder (love it). I stamped my gummy bear with MFT hybrid black ink and Copic coloured him with BG 000, BG10, BG11 and BG13 and used glossy accents.  For the sentiment I used the Hi and Friend from the Ellie stamp set (also Avery Elle) and the Sweet once more from Celebrate. The lime embossing powder is by Ranger. I put everything together and finished with PPP sequins.

Thanks for taking the time and Happy Sunday :)
