Fla la la la la la la mingo!

Happy Monday! For the first time in my professional life I have decided to take a well-deserved week off to myself in November! Yes and I am so happy. I signed-up for the new on-line card class and I will be able to participate in real time! I have some real crafty plans for the week!

I can't even with these MFT Festive Flamingos! I mean seriously adorable! I had such fun with this one and it was my maiden voyage with the new Festive Berries Oxide Ink (LOVE THAT COLOR)!

I started by blending my background with Festive Berries, Abandoned Coral and Tattered Rose Distress Oxide Inks. I added some water with my Distress Sprayer for added effect. I then colored these beautiful Festive Flamingos with my Copics and used the accompanying dies.

I chose this beautiful Simon Says Stamp Exclusive Holly die with some Tim Holtz woodgrain cardstock, I love the added texture.  I adhered the background panel with foam tape for added dimension and then added some Christmas Red and Holly Stickles to the frame for added color.

I used foam tape for my Flamingos, and added some glossy accents, white blizzard and white Nuvo drops to the flamingos and the background.

I finished by embossing my sentiment with Rose Gold embossing powder on Tonic Scarlet Organza specialty paper and used an MFT banner die.

I do love the way it turned out! All products are listed and linked below affiliate links are used at no extra cost to you!

Thanks for taking the time!

Hero Arts - Naughty & Nice

Happy hump day crafty friends! Had such fun with this tri-fold card featuring the new Hero Arts Naughty and Nice Elves.

I started with a piece of watercolour (smooth) card stock so that I could cut it 5.5 x 12 to make a tri-fold card base. I then stamped my snow with clear embossing ink by Simon Says Stamp and added my white embossing powder. I used my Salty Ocean Distress Ink for the sky. To make my snow drifts I used a mix of stencils with some Tumbled Glass Distress Ink. I used the lighter ink because I didn't buy the matching dies and I wanted to use my Copics.

I then stamped all my images from both the Naughty Elves and the Nice Elves sets on different snow drifts.  I then coloured them in and added some white Gellyroller detail, Star Dust Stickles and Red Nuvo drops on Rudolph's nose.

For the sentiment, I chose another Hero Arts set (I believe it is the Wonderful Stamp and Cut set). I die cut the Wonderful from some fun foam and red mirrored card stock by Tonic and white embossed the accompanying sentiments on black Lawn Fawn card stock.  I really love the way it turned out and I plan to use these wonderful elves on gift tags but I am ordering the dies! Lol.

Thanks for taking the time!

Avery Elle - Frosty Friends!

Happy Friday crafty friends! Weekend of work meetings ahead but I still get excited when it's Friday!  My project share today is another one from my wonderful World Card Making Day - Long Weekend that I so enjoyed!

It features the fantastic Avery Elle Frosty Friends set, I love the vintage feel of this set!  I started with an A2 size piece of Bristol paper masked off a "snow hill" to blend my sky (Kristina Werner inspired this background totally, she shared a project last week based on a sketch and I just loved it).  I used Picked Raspberry, Wilted Violet, Blueprint Sketch and a bit of Black Soot Distress Inks. As soon as I completed my blending I added some sparkling clear Ranger embossing powder over the entire sky. I repeated it twice and it's a shame you can't see well with the picture, it makes the sky look frosted and freezing! I then added some of my white Gellyroller pen to act as stars.

I stamped my images and decided to go with red and purple Copics, the sky inspired the addition of the purple. I colored my images and used the coordinating die cuts and added some more Gellyroller to the gloves and hat ribbon.  I then stamped the sentiment from the Avery Elle Snowflakes set with some new WOW purple sparkling embossing powder. Love the stuff it is so shimmery when you see it up close.

Once I placed my images on the card base, I added some grey shading to the bottom of the snowman and sign. Finished off with some Star Dust Stickles on the snow and the North Pole sign and some Pretty Pink Posh Clear droplets.

Thanks for taking the time!
