Simon Says: Black, White and One Other Color!

Hello crafty friends! It's Wednesday and that means it's time for a new Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge!

This week Simon Says: Black, White and One Other Color! The design team is featuring fantastic Avery Elle products :), it isn't a requirement to use them but if you have them we would love to see them!

Come join in on the fun, you have the chance of winning a $50 gift card to the fantastic Simon Says Stamp store!

I decided to use my favorite Avery Elle flowers for this project - the Hand Drawn Florals. I stamped my flower and leaf (using my stamp positioner) with Lawn Fawn Jet Black Ink to color with my Copic Markers.  I went with a turquoise theme for my card and used the BG49, BG 13, BG11 and BG10 and light grey from my leaf to give a "white" effect using N2 and No .

Once that was complete, I left my flower and leaf in my stamping tool and stamped them again using embossing ink and added Ranger Black Sparkle embossing powder to make the black really pop on the flower.

I then took out my new Card-Sized Confetti stencils by MFT and used Peacock Feathers Distress Ink. With the first stencil, I went with a very light hand and a heavier hand with the second stencil for a fun ombré effect.

Once that was dried, I stamped my Hugs and Friend both from the Sentimental stamp set with Versafine Onyx Black Ink and used the same Ranger embossing powder.

I put my panel on a Neena 110lbs card base and used my Crop-a-dile to crop two of the corners. I wanted to round them because the bottom of my flower was slightly rounded.

I finished my card off using Pretty Pink Posh Aquamarine Jewels.

Simon Says: Use More Than One Stamp!

Happy Wednesday! And that means it's time for another fun Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge!

This week Simon Says: Use More Than One Stamp!

The design team is featuring Honeybee products this week and I couldn't resist Penny the Platypus!

I started by stamping my images on Neena Solar White 80lbs card stock and pulled out my trusty Copic markers. I used my favorite critter combination for Penny E79, E49, E44, E43 and E41. For the flower and gift I used RV25, RV21, YR04 and YR00. My color palette was decided by some fun confetti I picked-up last week.

I then chose coordinating Simon Says glitter paper and some Lawn Fawn Fake Tan for the balloons and the Honeybee sentiment from the Hooray dies set. I then decided on the fun Avery Elle Polka cover plate lined with black card stock. I really like the effect and it makes Penny pop off the card!

I placed all of my elements on the panel and finished by adding that fun confetti and Nuvo crystal glaze on her beak. All of my supplies are listed and linked below!

Thanks for taking the time!

Avery Elle Party Pals

Happy hump day crafty friends! For those of you that follow my blog, you will undoubtedly know how much I love a good critter. So when I saw this Party Pals set by Avery Elle, I had to have it!

My best childhood friend has a birthday this week and I have a standing tradition that I make one card from my husband and I and one card from the family pets (strange, but true). So on this one, I decided to feature the cats from the set and turn them into my cat Tigrou (grey tabby) and her cat Cooper (orange tabby).

To start, I knew I wanted to add some of the new Lawn Fawn 6x6 Really Rainbow Petite paper, I love this paper pad I am on my second already... So, that made my color choices easy enough!  My friends favorite color is purple, so that also had to be a major element.

I stamped my images using my Misti with Lawn Fawn jet black Ink and colored the Happy sentiment also from the Party Pals set in rainbow order and used three of the same colors for the balloons in the same set. I then colored my little guys (all Copics for these images) in tabby fashion.

I used the co-ordinating dies and then took my piece of Neena Solar White and die cut the border with a Lawn Fawn stitched border die (cut off the excess of the A2 size panel). I then used a small piece of the rainbow card stock and glued that to the card base. I then glued fun foam on the back of the white panel and placed it on my card base.  I glued all of my elements only to have forgotten to stamp the black birthday sentiment. Thankfully I had used a full piece of fun foam therefore making the stamping a lot smoother.  I used 3m foam tape for the images and added some rainbow gems by Lucy's little things.

Thanks for taking the time!

Avery Elle Birthday for a dear friend!

Happy Monday crafty friends! I am loving all the new releases so far this year! Avery Elle is not an exception. When I picked-up this stamp set I couldn't wait to get inky.

This card is extra special because it was made for a very dear friend who has a birthday tomorrow!

I started by stamping my flowers and leaves from the new Hand Drawn Florals by Avery Elle using my Misti. I used my Copic markers with the flicking technique to offer white highlights on the flowers and leaves. Once I finished my colouring I placed my paper back in the Misti and stamped with VersaMark clear ink so that I could gold emboss my images. I then used the accompanying dies.

I paired the Altenew Watercolor Stripes Background Die with a black card stock backer, I felt it offered a nice graphic element to the card.  I used my gold embossing powder for the sentiment from the fantastic AE Loads of Wishes set.

I put my card together and added some Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins.

Thanks so much for taking the time!

Hero Arts Naughty and Nice gift tags

Happy Monday! T -4 days in counting before a much needed break for family and friends! I so look forward to the Christmas holidays every year :)

I am so sure many crafters are completing last minute projects as am I.  I made a series of tags using the fun Hero Arts Naughty and Nice Elves sets (I simply love these two sets) and the tree I used for the inner background (two of the tags) is from an older Hero Arts set Winter Time Fun.

Hero Arts was my introduction into card-making all those years ago and I still adore their products.

The shaker tag die is by Avery Elle and I used it for five tags. I mixed the tree and the North Pole sign for the backgrounds and the snow and elves are on the outside of the tags.

I coloured the Elves with Copic markers and used the accompanying dies. For the transparency, I used StazOn White for the snowflakes and the sentiment. The blue tag backgrounds were coloured in with a variety of blue Copic markers as I used Copic friendly inks for the inside images. There is also a variety of shaker materials on the inside of each to compliment the colours of the Elves.

Thanks so much for taking the time!

Carlyle Holiday Card 2017

Happy Monday crafty friends! I have been a little off the grid lately due to my large annual holiday card order.  Carlyle Construction (based in Montreal) orders bulk cards from me annually for their customers (I am very thankful to have them :). This year we decided on one model which is a shaker card. I have been busy filling this order and I am glad to say I am done! Yay!

It is a shaker card so they were a little longer than my usual but so worth it, I am so happy with the way they turned out! There is a massive mix of companies for this project.  I will simply list the products and companies used for these cards.

Paper: Lawn Fawn Narwal, MFT Silver Glitter Paper
Die-namics by MFT Frame
Lawn Fawn Snow Stamp (inside base card)
English sentiment by Avery Elle
French Sentiment by Lime Citron
Snow on transparency by Avery Elle
Inks: Hero Arts Unicorn White (Inside)
StazOn White on the Transperancy.
Sequins Pretty Pink Posh and a few specialty sequins mixed in.

I think that covers all of the products used!
Thanks for taking the time!

Avery Elle - Frosty Friends!

Happy Friday crafty friends! Weekend of work meetings ahead but I still get excited when it's Friday!  My project share today is another one from my wonderful World Card Making Day - Long Weekend that I so enjoyed!

It features the fantastic Avery Elle Frosty Friends set, I love the vintage feel of this set!  I started with an A2 size piece of Bristol paper masked off a "snow hill" to blend my sky (Kristina Werner inspired this background totally, she shared a project last week based on a sketch and I just loved it).  I used Picked Raspberry, Wilted Violet, Blueprint Sketch and a bit of Black Soot Distress Inks. As soon as I completed my blending I added some sparkling clear Ranger embossing powder over the entire sky. I repeated it twice and it's a shame you can't see well with the picture, it makes the sky look frosted and freezing! I then added some of my white Gellyroller pen to act as stars.

I stamped my images and decided to go with red and purple Copics, the sky inspired the addition of the purple. I colored my images and used the coordinating die cuts and added some more Gellyroller to the gloves and hat ribbon.  I then stamped the sentiment from the Avery Elle Snowflakes set with some new WOW purple sparkling embossing powder. Love the stuff it is so shimmery when you see it up close.

Once I placed my images on the card base, I added some grey shading to the bottom of the snowman and sign. Finished off with some Star Dust Stickles on the snow and the North Pole sign and some Pretty Pink Posh Clear droplets.

Thanks for taking the time!

Wplus9 Modern Anemones

Happy Monday crafty friends! I finally had a nice relaxing weekend that did not include working for my day job! So I allowed myself some much needed downtime in my craft room.

I don't know about you but I am hanging on to the last of summer as much as I can so I was inspired by the Wplus9 Modern Anemones set.

I stamped a bunch of the images from the Modern Anemones set on Neena Solar White 80 lbs card stock so that I could use my Copic Sketch markers.  I researched anemones on-line and decided to go with pink.  I then die cut a panel using my favourite Avery Elle Wonky Stitched Rectangle die.  I placed my flowers and then decided to die cut my Awesome sentiment from Neena along with StickIt and Fun Foam for added dimension.  I used some Distress Ink in Picked Raspberry in an ombré effect and then stamped the You Are from Avery Elle on top.

I finished of my project with some Pretty Pink Posh clear droplets.

Thanks for taking the time and have a great week!

Summer Birthday!

I have so been off the grid over my vacation, my husband went back to work yesterday therefore I now have more time for my craft room over the last of my vacation!

I had such fun making this project, it's a tri-fold birthday "ocean" card.

I started by cutting my Bristol card stock to 5.5 x 12 I then used a mix of Distress Inks on the entire background. On top I used a Hero Arts waves stencil with the same Distress Inks mix I then sprayed the entire piece with my Distress sprayer for texture.  I die cut my ocean floor to 12 inches and used a Lawn Fawn Stitched border die for the top. I also used Distress Inks for the impression of sand. I then scored everything at 4inches and then glued my ocean bottom on the base.

For the sharks and fishes I used a mix of Avery Elle's Hello Chum and Lawn Fawn's Duh-Nuh. The colored fish are from Lawn Fawn and the black are by AE in the Hello Chum set.

I colored all my images with various Copic Sketch markers. The sentiments are from Hello Chum and are embossed in some of my new WOW Glitter embossing powders, this one is Teal. I finished off the project with glossy accents and a sprinkling of sequins!

The space in the middle panel will be for my message.

Thanks so much for taking the time, I will have more projects up this week!

New Baby Onesie Card!

Happy Friday crafty friends! Doing a happy dance because I have no office commitments this weekend!

I saw this great tutorial on Pinterest to make a baby onesie card. I just had to try it! Perfect timing, lots of births in my little world this year.

I had such fun making this card and once you have your measurements, it is so easy to do!  I started with my new Lawn Fawn Ballet Slippers card stock cut to an A2 size card (4.25 x 5.5). Then it's simply a question of using either a round punch or die (I used my Lawn Fawn dies, both the stitched circles and scalloped circles).

I then measured the sides and cut them with my Tim Holtz scissors and added a bight of Picked Raspberry Distress Ink on the edges.  I thought the We R Memory Keepers Next Level embossing folders with the puffy hearts would be sweet so I embossed the card base. I then cut the scalloped edges and the heart die with some Lawn Fawn Rainbow Plaid paper.

I added a hot pink circle to frame the heart and the congratulations sentiment is by Avery Elle.  On the inside I cut a white "onesie" to write my message. Simple and fun project!

Thanks for taking the time!

Awesome Rainbow!

Happy Monday crafty friends! Kim with you this morning and I am sharing another rainbow inspired project! Weather is so beautiful and that is inspiring me with color! Lots of color! All of the products used are available on the Butterfly Reflections Ink shop!

I started by die-cutting the Concord and 9th Floral and Flutter flower die with several colors of card stock. I added shading with Distress Inks to the edges of the petals. I then cut my Neena 80lbs card front to a little narrower than the 4.25 width and die cut the edges with the Lawn Fawn Stitched Border Dies.

I then felt the card needed a black sentiment for it to really pop so I chose the Neat & Tangled Awesome die and I accompanied that with an Avery Elle "You Are" sentiment from the Simply Said Hugs set (with some craft surgery to mix and match the words).

I put the card together and had to add my favorite Pretty Pink Posh Crystal Clear sequins and a mix of Nuvo Crystal and Jewel drops in the centres of the flowers!

Thanks for taking the time, have a great week! If any of these products are out of stock simply select the "notify me" option Vanessa stocks really quickly!

Avery Elle Double Birthday!

Happy Monday! Kim with you this morning sharing two projects featuring products from Butterfly Reflections Ink for my twin nieces who have a birthday this week!

These two projects feature images from the new Avery Elle Carousel stamps and dies! I chose the horse and the bear and coloured them with Copics. I then used my Nuovo Glitter paste inTanzanite Lavender and Peridot Green and made my own stencils out of dies. I then embossed my sentiments also from the Carousel set by Avery Elle.  I put my cards together and added the small action wobblers to both carousel images (I love me some action wobblers). I decided to make gift bags/boxes for their gifts, I love the Lawn Fawn dies for projects like these! So I used the Scalloped Treat Box die. I then paired the boxes with some of the newer Neat & Tangled Love Note dies in matching colours.

I hope the girls will enjoy these for their birthday! have a great week!

MFT Otters!!!

Happy Monday all! Kim here with you this morning for Butterfly Reflections Ink featuring the wonderful MFT Otters!

I love otters, I keep telling my husband that if we lived in a warmer climate I would want one in the pool all year long! No can do in Montreal...

This one will double as a Valentine's Day card for one of my best friends, who loves otters too :)
This guy below was my inspiration from a Google search:

Look at that dude! Lol

For my card I started with a Neena Solar White card base and embossed it with a Tim Holtz/Sizzix embossing folder. I then die cut my frames (Poppy Scribble Trio Frames) out of Kraft and Neena. The Kraft for the actual frame and the Neena to stamp my otters.  I Copic coloured my otters and tried to get the same colours as my inspiration photo (E42, E43, E44 and E47 for the body, E30, E31 for the nose surround and R22, R46, R37 and R59 for the heart). I made my own waves using B00, B02 and B04) I then used Tumbled Glass Distress Ink for the sky. I put my frames together and then used Stick It adhesive with craft foam and my red shiny card stock then die cut it with the Avery Elle Simply Said Hugs Elle-ments. I then embossed my "Otter" sentiment from the same MFT Otter set with white embossing powder and cut my black card stock to size.

I put the last elements on the card and added some Neat and Tangled sequins from the Peppermint Stick Sequin Mix and I also die cut the hearts from the same foam/shiny paper with Lawn Fawn hearts.

Hope you all have a wonderful week!

Avery Elle Butterflies

Happy Monday! Have you seen all the fabulous sneaks from CHA? Oh my, I spent the weekend wishing I had been there!  I can't wait for all the launches :)

My project today features the beautiful Avery Elle Butterflies!

I love butterflies but this set... oh my! I cut my base panel with the Avery Elle Wonky Stiches Rectangle from some Lawn Fawn Guava Cardstock (Oh this color, I just love it).  I used my Misti to stamp my butterflies with VersaMark Ink and used gold embossing powder on them.  I really like the way they turned out!  I then die cut the Neat and Tangled "awesome," awesome die from both black cardstock (background) and gold foil paper for the top.  The "You Are" is from the Love Puffin stamp set also by Avery Elle and I stamped and embossed that in the same gold as the butterflies. I love being able to use stamp sets in different ways :)

I put the top panel together and added some dots with my white and gold gell pens for added detail. I then sprinkled some Tailored Expressions sequins and some small pearls. I felt that a white card base didn't fit the design so I added VersaMark around the card edges and used gold embossing. I much prefer the way it turned out!  This will go to an awesome friend, who, unfortunately lives way too far away!

Have a great week! Bonne semaine :)

Winter flowers with Altenew!

Happy Monday! Kim with you this morning and I am sharing a thank you card featuring Altenew! I don't know about you, but when January and February are around I need flowers!

I rarely use blues and purples, but I felt the choices were fitting for a winter thank you.  I started with Bristol cardstock because I wanted to use my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers. I cut the base panel with Avery Elle Wonky Stiches Rectangle die - this is one of my favorite dies for base panels.  I lined up my stamps from Altenew's Beautiful Day to make sure I liked the placement before stamping the leaves, and small flowers in the background.  I stamped them using my Misti Stamp Tool with VersaMark Ink and then Silver embossed my images.  I then stamped my largest flower on another piece of Bristol also using VersaMark and silver embossing powder to cut it out and pop it up using foam tape.

I usually just use my Zig markers and blend them together, but I wanted a lighter watercolor feel for this project.  I started with my blues at the base of the big flower and worked the color out with my water brush. Once that dried, I began with the purple and I then did the background flowers and leaves.  I used 036(Light Blue), 031(Cobalt Blue), 083(Lilac), 080(Violet), 045(Panel Green) and 047(May Green). For the sentiment - from Altenew's Adore You - I used Versafine Black Onyx Ink (my favorite for sentiments). I cut a card base also from Bristol paper, I wanted the color to match and the weight of Bristol is great for a card base! The sequins are a mix of sequins from Taylored Expressions.

Have a great week! Thanks for taking the time :)

Quiet New Years Day with Avery Elle

Nice quiet New Years Sunday :) Spending the day with my husband and pets, quit nice really after the hustle and bustle of the last week! I am playing with some new sets that I ordered before Christmas. Must say it's fun to work on different projects.

I love Puffins, they are the sweetest birds, I was lucky enough to see some on a trip to Newfoundland.   thought sending love and hugs on New Years was appropriate!  I used Distress inks on Neena Solar White if you use a light hand the blending is beautiful! For the sand, I used a mix of Antique Linen, Gathered Twigs and Ground Espresso then added some white gel pen dots for texture. For my water, I used some PostIt tape and a mix of Salty Ocean and Mermaid Lagoon. My sky is a mix of Tumbled Glass, Shaded Lilac and Wilted Violet.  I then used the puffins, seagulls and rocks from Avery Elle's Love Puffin set and I coloured the puffins with Copics.  I also used the tree stump from Wood You? And finished it off with he Avery Elle Hugs die and the smaller sentiment is from the accompanying Simply Said Hugs stamp set and, of course, Pretty Pink Posh sequins.

Hope you all have a great New Years Day :)

Avery Elle Kitsch Christmas

I have been waiting so long for this stamp set! It was backordered everywhere to the point that I had the die set for six weeks before getting my little hands on it!  I apologies, I haven't posted in a while due to work (day job...jeez) and I have received holiday card orders for a company I deal with annually.  I should be positing regularly now :)

I am madly in love with the deer in this set and the retro looking sentiments! I coloured her with Copics, I will be using these a lot this year.  Aside from the Avery Elle deer and bow (Kitch Christmas) and sentiment the remaining products are Lawn Fawn (snow in the background, the birch trees and the snowy hill dies) and MFT red foil frame. I topped it off with (huge shocker!) Pretty Pink Posh sequins :)

Thanks for taking the time!

Avery Elle - Season's Greetings

Happy Monday all! Or Happy Halloween, we don't really do much for Halloween. We have two dogs that love to bark at the doorbell therefore making Halloween a little difficult for my husband and I. I have been away and busy for work over the last few weeks which is why I haven't posted much.  Over the weekend I got the chance to play in my studio and produce some holiday projects :)

I just love this greeting die by Avery Elle. There is something about the font and the scale, I ordered it at the end of the holiday season last year so it was one of the first that I grabbed to start my cards!  I used StickIt and fun foam with red mirrored cardstock (not sure what the real term is! lol). I also die cut the holly that accompanies the word die in green "mirrored" paper and the berries in red glitter paper.  I die cut my panel using one of the Lawn Fawn border dies and I embossed it with my favourite Next Level polka dot embossing folder. I put the card together and finished it off with Pretty Pink Posh sequins!

Thanks for taking the time!

Christmas Tags... Already!

So, please don't be upset with me for featuring Christmas tags already! Lol. I just could't resist playing with these new Avery Elle stamps!

Ugh, aren't the cat and dog too sweet! I am a huge animal lover and when buying stamps if they feature any kind of critter I am there! I Copic coloured my images from Dear Santa and Happy Howl-idays I then used sentiments from Dear Santa for both tags. I used MFT Hybrid Inks in Black, Wild Cherry and Gumdrop Green to match my Christmas colours. I also used images from Retro Ornaments, also by Avery Elle for the (I guess snowflakes) on the cat tag and I used SSS Maliblue Ink for the snowflakes on both. For accents I used Gellyroller pens in white, black and clear star.

Thanks for taking the time!

Welcome Baby with W Plus 9

I had such fun making this one, baby cards are too sweet for words! This one is for friends of ours that are expecting a little girl :)

I started with Canson Watercolor paper and die cut my base panel and pattern paper (Lawn Fawn) with an MFT die. I took the inside panel and used Distress Inks in Spun Sugar, Picked Raspberry and Abandoned Coral  in an "ombré" gradient. I used my distress sprayer then removed the excess water which gives that fun spotted effect.  I then die cut a second inner panel for the clouds (Lawn Fawn) and I used the leftover to stamp my giraffe and birds from the Wplus9 Party Animal stamp set.  To watercolor my images I used the Prima Tropicals set (new to me but I am addicted!).  I put the card together with a mix of PPP and Martha Stewart sequins. I die cut the sentiment banner from the same paper and used Picked Raspberry and the sentiment is from Avery Elle Story Book.

Thanks for taking the time!
