CFC202 - Inspiration

Happy Friday crafty friends! I have a bittersweet post today, this is my last post for the CAS-ual Friday's Challenge blog. It has been a wonderful experience and Michele Gross the wonderful owner of CAS-ual Friday's stamps has been amazing! I really want to thank her and our blog coordinator Alanna Moses.

This week the theme for the challenge is an inspiration picture. I was inspired by the colors popping in the sky. So, I decided to make my flowers fall from the sky.

I used the beautiful new Peaceful Garden stamp set in a rainbow of colors! Stamped each color three times and finished by adding the leaves from the same set. I chose my sentiment from the Truth Is stamp set and trimmed my Neena 80lbs panel to 5.25 x 4. I foam mounted my panel to the card base and added some PPP Sparkling Clear Sequins and Nuvo Jewel Drops.

Thanks so much for taking the time and go check out the challenge!

CFC201 - Boys of Summer!

Happy Friday! That also means it's time for another fun CAS-ual Friday's Challenge! The challenge is all about Boys of Summer!

I was inspired by summery masculine colors and the clean and simple Bold Wishes stamp set by CAS-ual Friday's for my project today. Most of the birthday's in my family are in July and August, this will be perfect for one of my nephews!

I started by making my centre point so that I could first align my sentiment. I then worked on either side of is with my stamp and then the top and bottom. I am always worried when I do a card like this that the alignment will be skewed but this worked out well! I then trimmed my panel to 5.25 x 4, foam mounted it on my Neena card base and added some clear droplets. Clean and very simple, quick card to put together!

CFC186 - Anything but a Card!

Happy Friday crafty friends! I love Friday's especially when it's time for a new CAS-ual Friday's Challenge!
This week it's anything but a Card!

I decided on a tag for my project featuring the beautiful Mistletoe from the Mistletoe and Holly stamp set! I just love this image. I felt like trying my new Windsor and Newton Gouache (inspired by the new Holiday Online Card Class). The joy of Gouache is that is paints beautifully on dark card stock!

I chose a navy blue to make a nice masculine tag. I gold embossed my Mistletoe and sentiment also from CAS-ual Friday's on the base of my tag. I used two different red colors for the bow, a mix of greens for the leaves and I finished by adding Liquid Pearls on my berries.  I was going to make a shaker tag but I felt that it would take away from the Mistletoe so I just added some Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins.

A simple project but I love the depth of the Gouache :) To finish off the tag I added some red and white twine.

CFC185 - Think Pink!

Happy Friday crafty friends! Time for another fun challenge over at the CAS-ual Friday's Challenge blog This week we are thinking pink! As most of you know, October is breast cancer awareness month so the blog is going pink!

For my project I used the beautiful Full on Floral stamp for my background, I stamped it on Lawn Fawn Ballet Slippers Paper with the It's a Girl Pink ink by Catherine Pooler.  I then added a bit of Picked Raspberry Distress Ink to the sides for added dimension.  I then took a few sentiments from the fantastic Calling all Sistahs stamp set and stamped them on my label and tag. I put my card together and topped it off with some gold Liquid Pearls on the flowers!

CFC184 - Sketch Challenge

Happy Friday crafty friends! Does anyone have any World Card Making Day plans? I plan on locking myself into my craft room with the dogs and playing to my hearts content! But that's tomorrow, today we have a new challenge over at the CAS-ual Fridays Challenge!

This week we are featuring a Sketch Challenge!

I flipped the sketch to make a horizontal card so that I could feature one of the fantastic Puffy Heart Love sentiments! I paired it with one of the ballerina's from Tutu

I started by blending my background line with a mix of Picked Raspberry and Abandoned Coral Distress Inks on Bristol paper (one of my favourite mixes).  I sprayed the area with my Distress Sprayer for texture and I waited for the panel to dry and then proceeded to stamp my images with Versafine Onyx Black Ink.

I added some of my Nuvo Drops to the flowers on the ballerina. To finish off the card, I added some Fun-Fetti hearts also by CAS-ual Friday and some of my favourite sparkling clear sequins!

CFC180 - Friendship

Happy Friday crafty peeps! Time for another CAS-ual Friday's Challenge! The theme this time around is Friendship :)

I was so excited to have received my new CAS-ual Friday's stamps in-time for this challenge!

I decided on the new Tutu set for this project in rainbow order nonetheless :) I broke out my Distress Oxides for this one and do they stamp like a dream! I used my Misti to properly line up my ballerina's. Once my stamping was complete I decided to use some black enamel accents to make the flowers pop.

I then decided to use this fantastic sentiment from the Special Delivery stamp set and also added the hearts from the new Puffy Heart Love set.

I then added some black cardstock to accent the panel, put my card together and the of course, finished with some Pretty Pink Posh sparkling clear sequins!

CFC179 - Dies Only, No Stamps!

Happy Friday crafty friends! Time for another CAS-ual Fridays Challenge over at the Challenge Blog!  I am currently away on summer vacation so my blog has been quiet over the last little while! Feels good to take a few minutes and give the blog some care!

Rainbows always make me happy, so I picked a few of my favourite coloured card stock and used the Thanks die from the CAS-ual Friday's Smiling Fri-Dies set. I die cut my paper with fun foam and StickIt on the back for dimension and to make placement easier on the background.  I used coordinating Distress Inks to give my card stock some depth and then placed my die cuts.

I felt it needed a little something more so I die cut a few of the 4-petal Fri-dies to add in a few places with coordinating sequins.  I then added some Nuvo Drops also in rainbow order.  As simple as that!

Christmas in July

Happy Friday crafty friends! Friday = a new CAS-ual Fridays Challenge! This week it is Christmas in July! Almost feels like winter here, has not been the best summer weather so far...

I love Prismacolor pencils on Kraft! So I chose this fantastic mistletoe stamp from the CAS-ual Friday Mistletoe and Holly stamp set. I started by embossing my sentiment from the same stamp set with Ranger red glitter embossing powder. I then stamped my mistletoe with Versafine Onyx black ink repeatadly to create my background. To blend my colored pencils I used Gamsol, I love the effect it gives to the image.  I then used white liquid perfect pearls to make the berries pop, put my card together and topped it off with some red Pretty Pink Posh shiny sequins.

CFC177 - Tic Tac Toe

Happy Friday crafty friends and Happy 150 to Canada! It is a long weekend here in Canada, July 1 is not only Canada Day but this years marks 150 years for this great country!

Time for another fun Challenge over at the CAS-ual Friday's Challenge Blog! The challenge is all about tic tac toe!

I chose 1 layer card, tag and add a rainbow! Who doesn't love a rainbow! I started by gold embossing my sentiments from the CAS-ual Friday's Shenanigans stamp set (love the scale and the font of that set)! I then used a series of distress inks (on Bristol paper) and made my rainbow! Sprayed the tag with water to give that distress look.  Very happy with the way it turned out!

Go on over to the blog, tic tac toe offers a lot of variety for this challenge!

CAS-ual Friday's Challenge - CFC174

Happy Friday everyone! I have been neglecting my blog and crafty time lately. My work is a little cray-cray!!! lol.

But it is time for anther CAS-ual Friday's Challenge! This one is all about the sketch!

I had such fun making this one, I mean all crafters love rainbow right???  I used one of my favourite sets Twinkle! Along with the accompanying Stars Fri-Dies in a rainbow variety of paper.  I added some ink to deepen each colour and stamped the corresponding star stamp on top.

The sentient is also from the Twinkle set and was embossed with white on black. Didn't add any other embellies! I was so happy with the way it turned out!

CFC173 - Pick Six

Happy Friday all but more importantly Happy 6th birthday to the CAS-ual Friday's challenge blog! In honour of the Challenge birthday CFC173 is all about picking six!

I has such fun making this project! I decided on six flowers and I saw a tutorial by Nichol Spohr on using heart dies to build your own flowers! So I decided I wanted to try that for my card.  I used the heart die from the Shuffle Fri-dies and die cut my hearts from a rainbow array of papers.I then used my scoring board to score the hearts in the middle.

I pulled out my Distress Inks in shades slightly darker then my paper and added some shading to all the folded hearts.  I put my "flowers" together and topped each off with a gold heart that I die cut using the Fun-Fetti heart dies.

I took out a Neena Solar White panel and stamped the Happy Birthday with the beautiful sentiment from the new So Pretty stamp set.

I finished off the card with some Pretty Pink Posh gold sequins. I ended up with six flowers, six topper hearts and six sequins!

CFC171 - Rainbows :)

Happy Friday crafty friends! Time for another fun CAS-ual Friday's Challenge! We are all about rainbows this week!

My project features some of the new amazing products released last week and you can find them in the
CAS-ual Friday's shop

I absolutely wanted to play with the new Modern Petals border stamp set. I pulled out a rainbow of pigment inks and my Misti, I chose pigment inks because they are very vibrant and easy to wipe off on the parts of the stamp that I didn't want inked.  To be able to have to room for a rainbow of colours I only inked up half of the stamp.

I then wanted a bold black sentiment so I chose the Smiling Fri-Die, I backed my black card stock with StickIt adhesive and some fun foam for more dimension. I paired the Smile sentiment with the sweet friend from the Special Delivery stamp set and white embossed it on black card stock. Finally I coloured in the little hearts with a red Copic glitter pen (can't remember what they are actually called...)

I took some gold thread (it was actually my Grandmother's and there is still plenty of it left!) put my card together and finished it off with some gold Pretty Pink Posh sequins and added Glossy Accents to the Smile die cut!

I had the pleasure of meeting Michele the owner and designer of CAS-ual Friday's during a business trip to Denver last week. She is a wonderful classy lady, love her product and I am happy I was able to put a face to the brand!

CFC170 - No Dies Allowed!

Happy Friday crafty friends! Not only is it time for another CAS-ual Friday's Challenge but I get to travel to Denver for work today and I will be meeting the owner of this wonderful stamp company!!!

The challenge is "no dies allowed"-- I have to tell you I never realized how much I used my dies until this project!

I used the Pretty Posies stamp set (they really are pretty posies) and stamped them with Distress Ink in  Old Paper because I wanted to use my Prismacolor pencils and try some no-line colouring.  Again, if you follow my blog you will have seen that I am trying to use colours that I don't use on a regular basis to try and stretch my palette a little.  I decided to go with blues and purples and I am happy with the way the flowers and leaves turned out.  My sentiment is from the CAS-ual Friday's Wallfower stamp set and I added a mix of sequins in the same colours.  I then added lavender coloured card stock as a mat in the back and angled the entire top panel to a card base and cut the excess off.

CFC169 - Off the Edge

Fri-Yay everyone!!! Woot, woot! And that means time for another CAS-ual Friday's Challenge!  This week we are all off the edge!!

I have been in a rainbow kind of a mood lately! Longing for signs of warm weather I guess.  I die cut multiple CAS-ual Friday's 4-petal Fri-dies in different colored card stocks and I inked the edges in inks that were slightly deeper in color.  I then arranged my 4-petal wreath in rainbow order and added matching gems to the centres. I wanted a black and white sentiment for a graphic element and went with the For You from the Bravo stamp set! And my sentiment and some of my flowers are off the edge.  I toped it off with some Pretty Pink Posh sequins!

CFC168 - One Layer Wonder

Happy Friyay! So happy it's the end of the week :) Added bonus warm temperatures at the end of February! Snow is melting and the mood is good!

Time for a CAS-ual Fridays Challenge! This week is all about one layer cards. I have always struggled with one layer! But I am happy with the way it turned out probably because it is rainbow colours!

For this one I used the CAS-ual Friday WTF and Shenanigans stamp sets.  I used a variety of inks both die and pigment.  Some SSS, Hero Arts and Mama Elephant.  For the big Happy Birthday sentiment I used my favorite black Versafine Onyx.  I find it gives the best and a crisp impression.  I finished it all off with a mix of sequins (not sure if that hinders the "one layer" theory but I figure it's an embellishment)

CFC167 - Pink, Red and White!

It's Fri-Yay! That also means it's time for another challenge over at the CAS-ual Fridays Challenge Blog! Valentine's Day is next week so what better then a Pink, Red and White theme :)

I wanted to use one of my new favorite techniques for this card, craft foam, StickIt and specialty paper!

I started by die cutting my Neena Solar White card panel and stamping my sentiments from the Shenanigans stamps set in pink and red pigment inks. I then die cut multiples in pink glitter paper and red shiny card stock with a die from the CAS-ual Fridays Funky Round Tag Fri-Dies set.  The die is the same as the images from the Exclamations stamp set which I also used.

I laid out my dies to see where best to stamp the accompanying images in the same inks as the sentiment.  Once I was happy with the stamping, I placed my die cuts and cut the excess off the sides.

I added some craft foam to the back of the entire panel for more dimension and secured the panel to the card base and added a few sequins.
