CFC202 - Inspiration

Happy Friday crafty friends! I have a bittersweet post today, this is my last post for the CAS-ual Friday's Challenge blog. It has been a wonderful experience and Michele Gross the wonderful owner of CAS-ual Friday's stamps has been amazing! I really want to thank her and our blog coordinator Alanna Moses.

This week the theme for the challenge is an inspiration picture. I was inspired by the colors popping in the sky. So, I decided to make my flowers fall from the sky.

I used the beautiful new Peaceful Garden stamp set in a rainbow of colors! Stamped each color three times and finished by adding the leaves from the same set. I chose my sentiment from the Truth Is stamp set and trimmed my Neena 80lbs panel to 5.25 x 4. I foam mounted my panel to the card base and added some PPP Sparkling Clear Sequins and Nuvo Jewel Drops.

Thanks so much for taking the time and go check out the challenge!

CAS-UAL Fridays CFC176 - Color Challenge

Happy Friday crafty friends! It's time for another challenge over at the CAS-ual Fridays Challenge Blog! It's a color challenge!

I struggle with color challenges because I get in my comfort zone with colors I use frequently. This is always a good challenge for me!

I love these images from the Exclamations stamp set. I used Mama Elephant pigment inks and stamped my images on some Neena Solar white 80lbs card stock.

I then used fun foam and StickIt adhesive to make a dimensional "smile sentiment" from the Smiling Fri-dies in light grey card stock. I then applied a little Hickory Smoke Distress Ink on the top of my die cut piece to give a little ombré effect and topped it off with glossy accents.

I added some Nuvo Jewel Drops and some Pretty Pink Posh sequins and placed my panel on top of a light grey card base!

Join us at the CAS-ual Fridays Challenge blog for the chance to win $25 worth of CAS-ual Fridays Stamps and, drum roll please... Michelle with double the prize if you use CAS-ual Fridays stamps!

Thanks so much for taking the time!

Waffle Flower Crafts Beach Scene

Happy Thursday! I love the new Waffle Flowers crafts summer release!  I couldn't resist playing with the bear and some of the elements from the Stay Cool set :)

I am counting down the days to our summer vacation! This scene so puts me right there!

I stamped my bear, his drink and the cute bird on a floater then coloured them in with my Copics.  I fussy cut those three images and then used some Lawn Fawn border dies to create my background panel, my sandy beach (where I stamped and masked my beach towel) and my waves.  I used Distress Inks to colour all of those elements.  I then removed the mask from the beach towel and Copic coloured it as well.

I then pulled out the new Lawn Fawn palm tree dies with some coconuts :) I die cut the images in coloured card stock and added shading also with various Distress Inks.

I put my little scene together added a mix of Glossy Accents and Nuvo Jewel Drops to the scene.  This card makes me happy!

Thanks for taking the time!

Lawnfawnatics Challenge #4

Happy Thursday! I have been so busy at the office, many changes have increased my workload and unfortunately I have been a little absent from my crafty time!

I had time to play to unwind and I made this card to enter into the Lawnfawnatics Challenge #4 - Black/White and Bright.

For brights I thought what better then the Fab Flowers stamps and dies by Lawn Fawn! I started by stamping those with some bright die inks then pulled out my favourite black and white stripped pattern paper.  I then decided to die cut a half circle and lay my flowers around the side.

I white heat embossed my sentiment on Lawn Fawn Black card stock and added some of the pattern paper and some pink as well.  Finished it off with some Pretty Pink Posh clear drops and some Nuvo Drops in the centre of the flowers.

Thanks so much for taking the time!

MFT Koala!

Happy Friday eve! I realized that I haven't shared a critter card in a while! I fell in love with the new MFT Koala stamp set so I though this was the perfect critter to use!

I started by creating a mask out of Inkadinkadoo masking paper and a circle die. I used the negative space and applied a mix of Distress Inks in Wilted Violet, Picked Raspberry and Abandoned Coral. Once that was done, I die cut the panel with my Avery Elle Wonky Stitched Rectangle.

I then used my Misti to stamp my images which I then colored with my Copic markers.  I die cut a circle using Lawn Fawn green card stock and stitched circle die. I then used one of Lawn Fawn's Grassy border dies for the grass.

The sentiment banner is also one of the new Lawn Fawn products and paired it with an MFT sentiment from the same Koala stamp set.  Finished off my card with Pretty Pink Posh Lavender, Pink and orange sequins and Nuvo Jewel drops. Just a note, the googly eyes are by Doodlebug and I needed to use them because I smudged the black gell pen that I used to darken the eyes... Yes, that's me! Lol

Thanks so much for taking the time!

Kraft and colored pencils!

Happy Monday! Kim with you this morning and I am sharing an anniversary card today made with one of my favorite mixes - colored pencils on Kraft card stock! These are all products you can find in BR shop!

I started with a piece of Kraft card stock and stamped my flowers and leaves from Winnie & Walter's In Bloom - Addie's Garden (I am obsessed with this set lately) set with Kraft colored ink and I colored them with my Prismacolor pencils.

I guess with Easter around the corner, my color palette became what it is! When it came time to add a sentiment (this is an anniversary card for my parents :)) I, again, turned to my current obsession, the Lawn Fawn Happy, Happy, Happy Lawn Cuts and stamps.  I stamped the anniversary sentiment on a piece of Perfectly Plaid Rainbow paper and die cut the Happy out of lavender card stock and stamped the "happy" on top in Versafine Onyx Black.

I then felt that the left side looked slightly empty so I pulled out my Avery Elle Butterflies set and stamped one of them on Kraft paper and colored it in shades of purple and lavender.  I fussy cut it to pop it up on the base panel (again, I didn't buy the dies and it's a set I use often...) and I added some dot detail. To finish everything off I added some Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Sequins and some Nuvo Jewel Drops in Lavender, Pink and Yellow.

Thanks so much for taking the time! If you are interested in any of these products they all have direct links to the shop and if anything is backordered just select the notify me option. Vanessa stocks very quickly!

Have a great week and I will see you Easter Monday!

Easter Tulips

Happy Wednesday! I am so behind in my Easter projects, the day job has been so busy lately!

I needed spring colours big time, the snow is almost gone but that means heavy rains to clean it away! I know the sun is just around the corner but I have had enough of grey days!

I started by stamping multiples of the tulip image from Winnie and Walter's In Bloom - Addie's Garden and Copic colouring them with different pastel/Easter colours.  I then decided to try the Laura Bassen "Smooshing" technique on Tim Holtz watercolor card stock for the background piece. I used Shaded Lilac, Squeezed Lemonade and a mix of Spun Sugar and Picked Raspberry (mixed to lighten the pink tone) Distress Inks.

I then fussy cut my tulips and decided to die cut some older MFT stems in Lawn Fawn celery card stock and added some Mowed Lawn Distress Inks for shading.  I put all of my flowers and stems on the base and decided to use my new favourite Happy die by Lawn Fawn from their Happy, happy, happy set in black card stock with fun foam for dimension.

I decided to embossed the Easter sentiment also by Lawn Fawn in some Lavender embossing powder. I felt it was a little faint so I outlined the letters with my white gell pen and added dotted detail to my black sentiment to make it pop as well.

Finished it all off with some sparkling clear sequins by Pretty Pink Posh and a mix of Nuvo Jewel Drops.

Thanks for taking the time!

Monday Rainbow MFT Hugs!

Happy Monday, Kim with you here this morning sharing a rainbow themed card featuring MFT product from the Butterfly Reflections Ink store!!!

It was such cold weekend I decided to hibernate a little a find some well deserved quiet time in my craft room!

I absolutely wanted to use the Furever Friends stamp and die sets by My Favorite Things, there is just something about the MFT images that I love. After colouring my images with my Copic markers, I decided I wanted an anchor for them and what better than the My Favorite Things Die-Namics Big Hugs die! I decided to die cut it from the new Lawn Fawn Perfectly Plaid Rainbow 6x6 papers, I am so going to need to order more of this paper pack!

I then decided to die cut the bottom of my base panel using the My Favorite Things Die-namics Stitched Scallop Basic Edges 2 and repeated it with some more of the same Lawn Fawn pattern paper. I put the card together and added some Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins (new to the BR shop!) and a variety of the Nuvo Jewel Drops.

And for today's post, I decided to offer a few different views of my project!

Have a great week!
Kim
