Party Like a Flock Star!

Happy Friday crafty friends! My post today features the fantastic new Toucan Do It stamps and dies by My Favorite Things. I mean seriously leg-warmers? Too sweet!

I started with my base panel and some Salty Ocean Distress Oxide Ink in the middle of the panel in an oval formation with my ink blending tool. I then sprayed the area with my Distress sprayer for texture and since it is a Neena 80lbs panel the effect is faint.

I then used the new Heffy Doodle Unbeleafable stencil and selectively blended certain leaves from the full stencil on the sides and top and bottom with a mix of Cracked Pistachio and Lucky Clover Distress Oxide Inks.

I stamped my leaves from the Toucan Do It stamp set with the same Cracked Pistachio and Lucky Clover Oxide Inks with the "rock and roll" technique to avoid harsh lines (Distress Oxide Inks stamp like a dream!)

I stamped my bird with Lawn Fawn Jet Black Ink (my go-to Copic friendly ink). I started with the rainbow feathers and the bandana. I then colored the bird and beak. I used the accompanying Die-Namics. I used Nuvo white embossing powder and Lawn Fawn Black cardstock for the sentiment.

I flat glued the leaves to the panel and used foam tape for the bird and the sentiment stripes. I added white Gellyroller accents to the eye, nose and bandana once that was dry I went over the beak and eye with Nuvo Crystal Glaze. I also added some pink Stickles to the bandana and the leg warmers.

I finished everything off with some Sparkling Clear sequins by Pretty Pink Posh. All of the products used are listed and linked below!

Thanks for taking the time have a great weekend! It's a long weekend here in Canada to celebrate Canada Day!

Simon Says: Anything Goes featuring Wplus9

Happy hump day crafty friends! That means it's time for a new Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge!

This week Simon Says: Anything Goes!!! The design team is featuring Wplus9 products! You don't have to use them but we would love to see them if you do!

Come join in on the fun you have a change to win a $50 gift voucher to the Simon Says Stamp store!

For this week's project, I just had to use the beautiful Modern Anemones stamp set by Wplus9. I simply love these flowers (well I love all the Wplus9 flowers!)  I started by stamping my flowers on Neena 80lbs cardstock using my stamp platform in Lawn Fawn Jet Black Ink to use my Copic markers. I used the "flicking" motion to color these florals and the leaf. I then put my panel back in my stamp positioner and re-stamped with Versamark ink and used my gold embossing powder (I do this often and the black ink never shows through the embossing powder)

Once that was done I took another piece of Neena 80lbs cardstock and one of my MFT Stitched Scallop border dies and die cut the panel. I then used Versafine Onyx black ink to stamp the sentiment also from the Modern Anemones stamp set. To add a little something, something I added a piece of my favorite black and white striped paper by MFT to the left of the panel.

I foam mounted the white panel to the card base and then added my flowers and leaves to the panel. I finished off the card by adding my favorite Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear sequins.

Summer Flowers!

Happy Sunday crafty friends! Kim with you this morning sharing a summer inspired flower card!

Like many of you I am sure, I adore summer. The beach, the sun, the smell of freshly cut grass and the beauty of gorgeous summer flowers!

I really wanted to use the the Blossoms for Coloring set (CM255), I love the modern clean lines of these blossoms. I decided to color them with my Copic markers in rainbow colors. I used the accompanying dies. I then took my panel and die cut it with he Hero Arts Rounded Rectangle dies.

I decided the panel needed a little color so I used my Every Which Way stencil selectively coloring certain spots with my Soft Pool Ink and my ink blending tool. I then lined up my sentiment from the Hand Drawn Everyday Messages and stamped it with my Hero Arts Black Die Ink.

I used a mix of foam tape and glue to place my flowers and leaves on the panel and cut the excess off the sides. I finished it all off with various embellishments!

CFC202 - Inspiration

Happy Friday crafty friends! I have a bittersweet post today, this is my last post for the CAS-ual Friday's Challenge blog. It has been a wonderful experience and Michele Gross the wonderful owner of CAS-ual Friday's stamps has been amazing! I really want to thank her and our blog coordinator Alanna Moses.

This week the theme for the challenge is an inspiration picture. I was inspired by the colors popping in the sky. So, I decided to make my flowers fall from the sky.

I used the beautiful new Peaceful Garden stamp set in a rainbow of colors! Stamped each color three times and finished by adding the leaves from the same set. I chose my sentiment from the Truth Is stamp set and trimmed my Neena 80lbs panel to 5.25 x 4. I foam mounted my panel to the card base and added some PPP Sparkling Clear Sequins and Nuvo Jewel Drops.

Thanks so much for taking the time and go check out the challenge!

Simon Says Stamp - Good Vibes!

The newest Simon Stamp Stamp - Good Vibes exclusive release is live! I love the Simon's exclusive releases!

I got to play with the fabulous Beachy Waves Background stamp!

I made two cards with the background stamp, one is watercolor and the second is emboss resist.

For my first card, I simply used my Tombow markers and colored directly on the background stamp using my Stamp positioner so that I could double stamp if needed. Once colored in, I sprayed my stamp with my Distress Sprayer and stamped on my watercolor paper.  I repeated this twice to intensify the color. I then stamped my fish from the Simon Says Stamp Best Fishes set and colored them with my copics in similar colors. I used the accompanying dies and foam mounted them on my card in the "waves" and added some Studio Katia iridescent drops to finish my 1st project.

For my second project I used Versamark ink and some glitter embossing powder. I then used a rainbow of Distress Oxide Inks and blended them on my panel. I die cut the Simon Says Stamp Bikini die from black card stock along with the Simon Says Stamp Sending die. I placed all of my elements on the card and finished the project with Lucy's Little Things Gems.

Thanks for taking the time go check the new release you will love it!

Simon Says: Bright and Cheerful

Happy Wednesday! That also means it's time for another fun challenge over at the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge blog!

This week Simon Says: Bright and Cheerful! The design team is featuring Hero Arts products, you don't have to but we would love to see them!

Simon Says Stamp graciously offers a $50 gift voucher to their store for one lucky winner.

When I saw the theme of this challenge I just had to use my new Hero Arts Beach Please stamp set with that sweet dog!

I started by stamping my images and coloring them with my Copic markers and used the accompanying dies with my Sizzix Sidekick. I then die cut a piece of Neena solar white card stock using the Mama Elephant stitched die.  I created masks and I started with by blending my sand using Antique Linen and Gathered Twigs Distress Oxide Inks.

I then used a piece of PostIt tape to mask my water and used Salty Ocean Distress Oxide Ink. I then added my sun in the corner with Squeezed Lemonade and a circular blending tool making it easy to shape it. I masked off my water and used the MFT Stencil Cloud with Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide Ink and sprayed the entire panel with my Distress sprayer for texture. I added dabs of Picket Fences Distress Paint to mimic the surf coming in. I placed my panel to the side to let it dry.

I then die cut my Simon Says Stamp Sending die with black card stock and stamped and gold embossed the Sunshine sentiment from the Hero Arts Beach set. I placed all of my images on the panel and finished it off with some Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling clear sequins!

Summertime Fun!

Happy Fri-Yay Crafty friends! Today is the 15th of the month and that means it's time for a fun new challenge over at A Blog Named Hero

What's better than some Summertime Fun! I am such a summer girl, I look forward to these few months of sun, fun and a vacation in there to boot!

I chose the color palette because these beautiful colors make me think of summer sunsets! I started by white embossing my Sunburst Bold Prints  by Hero Arts (CG732) in white embossing powder and used Distress Oxides in Picked Raspberry, Abandoned Coral and Squeezed Lemonade for my background and then sprayed with my Distress Sprayer.

I then stamped my images from the Hero Arts Beach stamp set (CL978) and colored them with my Copics in matching colors to my background. I fussy cut the popsicles (don't have the dies... always get the dies!) I then decided to cut a piece of black card stock into a banner to feature my images. I white embossed my sentiment on the bottom of the banner and placed my popsicles on top with foam tape. I felt it was missing something so I added white detail around the perimeter of the banner (oldie but a goodie learned by Kristina Werner year ago).

To finish off, I added some Nuvo Crystal drops and some sequins. All of the products used are listed and linked below.

Thanks for taking the time!

Simon Says: Frame It

Happy Wednesday! That means it's time for a new Simon Says Wednesday Challenge

This week Simon Says: Frame It!

The design team is featuring Memory Box products, you don't have to use them but if you have them we would love to see them!

I am having a hard time finding my mojo this week. This is the second card I made for this challenge. Ever have those weeks? I started by die-cutting a rainbow of Memory Box Stitched Circle dies for my project. I then decided to use this Doodle Bug polka dot rainbow pattern paper to die cut my  Memory Box Darla butterfly.

I also die cut the upper left butterfly wing with the biggest of the circle dies to "frame it" in the pink circle. I felt the polka dot paper was a little lost so I decided to back it and offset it with a black butterfly. I took a piece of Tim Holtz woodgrain card stock and placed my circles and biggest butterfly on the panel.

I then die cut the Simon Says Stamp Hello die and some smaller older Memory Box butterflies to scatter on the card. To finish my project I added some Pretty Pink Posh Gold Sequins in 4 and 6 mm.

Altenew Layering Flower

Happy Tuesday crafty friends! I have been struggling with my crafty mojo! Work and life have been too crazy lately. I thought one of the beautiful Altenew layering flowers might help to jump start my card mojo.

I never use purple, I don't know why but I decided to try and go out of my comfort zone for this one. I used the Altenew Purple Crisp inks with the beautiful Hope stamp set. I find this one is a lot easier to line-up then some of the other layering type sets and I love the big and bold flower.

Once I die cut my flower with the coordinating dies I looked through my stash and decided to use this Avery Elle Horizontal Stripes Frame die with Lawn Fawn Black Licorice card stock to frame the flower. I then grabbed some Simon Says Stamp Lavender card stock and embossed it with one of my 3D We R Memory Keepers embossing folders. I glued the black die cut panel on top of the lavender one.

Once that was done I decided to die cut the beautiful Simon Says Stamp Leaves Cluster die out of vellum to add behind my flower and leaves. I then used the Altenew Thanks script die with some silver mat mirror card stock by Tonic.

To finish off the project I added a scattering of Pretty Pink Posh Wisteria Blossom sequins.

Thanks for taking the time all of the products used are linked and lister below!
