Simon Says Stamp Friendly Frolic!

Happy Thursday! Today is new release day over at Simon Says Stamp - Friendly Frolic is now live!

I was luck enough to get to play with the new Sketch Lotus Flowers! This set has my heart not only because of the fabulous bouquet but the sentiments in this set are fantastic! I can see myself using this set ALL the time for important women in my life.

I received my set a few days prior to leaving on vacation so I was only able to play a little bit and made one card. I can't wait to get home so that I can create more with this set. I see these flowers on Kraft with my Polychromos and more!

I opted for rainbow colors with my Copics for this card, there are just enough flowers and greenery! I used the "flicking" technique which I love for flowers, it gives great highlights. Once I was done coloring, I die cut my panel with the Avery Elle Wonky Stitched Rectangles.  I place my panel in my stamp platform and aligned my sentiment and stamped it with Versafine Onyx Black Ink.

Once that was complete I added some Sparkling Clear Sequins and some White Gel pen detail. Go check out the new release, I am so sure you will love it!

Thanks for taking the time!

For my project I chose the Dog Mouthfulls set by Art Impressions, I mean look at that face! I love this line by Art Impressions they come with different accessories and the matching dies. I decided on the gift as the pups accessory as this card will be for my Dad's 75th birthday from my dogs!

I started by stamping my images on Neena 80lbs cardstock so that I could Copic color the dog, gift, party hat and dog bone. I used the accompanying dies and fussy cut the puppy. I then die cut my background panel with the largest die from the Mama Elephant Cloud Nine die set. I decided to use the Tim Holts Brick stencil with a mix of Antique Linen and Gathered Twigs Distress Oxide Ink.

I masked off the brick near the bottom and used Black Soot and Hickory Smoke Distress Oxide Ink for the ground. I sprayed the panel with my Distress Sprayer and blotted the excess water. Once the panel was dry, I stamped my sentiment and added the "s" by hand well, because, I have two pups lol

I put my card together and used an action wobble for my dog! I added some Nuvo Crystal Glaze and some white gel pen detail and topped off my party hat with a pom pom from my stash!

Butterfly Birthday!

Happy Tuesday crafty friends! Kim with you this morning sharing a quick and easy Birthday card as the challenge this month is all about birthdays!

I decided to use the beautiful Butterfly Pair Stamp and Cut for my card today. I love the detail in these butterflies! I randomly stamped the two butterflies from this set on white cardstock.

I chose a rainbow array of Copic markers and colored them in order from top right down to the bottom left.

Once that was complete I die cut my panel with one of the Hero Arts Rounded Rectangle Dies and added some white gel pen detail on the centres and the wings of the butterflies.

I chose the fantastic Happy Stamp and cut for my sentiment and die cut it from black cardstock and fun foam. I felt the sentiment was lost with all the black so I chose this gold glitter paper and added that on top of the sentiment at an angle. I then white embossed the birthday from the Butterfly Pair set on black cardstock. I finished by adding some sequins. This card was quite simple and quick to put together.

Go check out the challengeyou still have time to enter!

MFT Beach Buds

Happy Sunday crafty friends! I am currently on vacation and therefore posting at odd times lol! Had some time this morning so I am sharing this one layer three panel card featuring MFT Stamps, Distress Oxide Inks and Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers.

I started by cutting my Bristol Smooth Cardstock to 5.5 x 12 and marked at 4 inches on the longest side.  I then stamped all of my images on the panel as well as on masking paper. I cut all of my masks and placed them on my fish. I masked the bottom of the ocean with PostIt tape and then used the Hero Arts Waves stencil with a mix of Salty Ocean, Peacock Feathers and Wilted Violet Distress Oxides. I removed the stencil and went over the panel again with the same inks but with a light hand to soften the background.

I used my Distress Sprayer to add some fun texture and it also added to the "water" feel.  I then removed the mask for the bottom and place it where the ocean meets the "floor" and used Gathered Twigs and Antique Linen Ditress Oxide Inks. Once the inking was all done I used my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers and colored all of my images.

Once all of that was complete I white embossed the fish bubbles and took away some of the color in the centres with my water brush. To make the look a little more dimensional I added Nuvo Crystal Glaze to the bubbles. I chose the MFT Hooray die with a mix of black cardstock and Simon Says Stamp Teal Glitter cardstock. I scored my lines at four inches with my Score-pal and folded it over. I finished off the project with some white gel pen detail.

Simon Says: Use a Die or Punch

Happy Wednesday crafty friends! Today is my first official day of a month-long summer break! So excited and it's time for a new Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge!

Now for this weeks challenge Simon Says: Use a Die or Punch! The design team is featuring Birch Press designs you don't have to use them but if you have them we would love to see them :)

For my project today I used the gorgeous Mandala Layer Stencil by Birch Press with some Altenew Sweet Dreams ink cubes and my round blending tools.  I love the colors in this ink set and I just love the effect it gave the stencil. Once that was complete, I die cut my panel using the largest Avery Elle Wonky Stitched Rectangle.

This was such a fast card to put together I decided to use this beautiful Birch Press Big Hugs Sugar Script die as my sentiment. For the background of the die I used Lawn Fawn Black Licorice card stock and Tonic Tropical Tide glitter paper for the top Hugs die.

Once that was added to the panel I opted for the "Friend" sentiment from a Simon Says Stamp Brand Exclusive Spring Flower Burst (I partially stamped that sentiment with Versamark ink). I then used my Nuvo White embossing powder and poped it up with foam tape as I did with the Hugs die. And that was it, super quick and I love the effect of this card!

A Blog Named Hero Birthday Cards Challenge!

Time for a new challenge over at A Blog Named Hero!!!
The theme is all about birthdays :) I don't know about you but I can never have enough birthday cards on-hand!

I am in love with the Hero Arts Magnolia stamp so, of course, that was my starting point! I stamped it on Kraft paper with MFT Kraft Hybrid Ink so that I could use my Polychormos pencils (another love of mine in my craft room) I hadn't planned on a color scheme I just picked a few of my favorites and I ended up with a magenta ish flower.

To add some dimension in the middle I used Dandelion Nuvo drops and a brown marker. I set my flower aside to dry and decided on the Rounded Rectangles by Hero Arts for my panel. I then masked off the sides with some PostIt tape and ink blended some Hero Arts Bubble Gum Ink as it matched my lighter pink on the flower.

For my sentiment, I used the Wonderful Stamp and Cut both the stamps and die.  I chose the Simon Says Stamp Magenta Glitter paper for my die and it worked beautifully with the darker flower color. I then foam mounded my panel on a Neena 110lbs card base and once the flower was completely dry I added to the lower right hand corner!

Thanks for taking the time!

Simon Says: Fun in the Sun

Happy Wednesday crafty friends! I have been MIA over the last week as I have been away for work! But I am back and my vacation starts next week! Can't wait!

It's time for a fun new Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge but first have you seen the Summer Kids Challenge going on now! The theme is Anything Goes with Sparkle! Click the link above or the logo below for more details!

Encourage your younger loved ones to enter for a chance to win one of three grab bags! This challenge is such fun!

Now for this week, Simon Says: Fun in the Sun! The design team is featuring Mama Elephant, you don't have to but we would sure love seeing them!

Come join in on the fun, you have the chance of winning a $50 gift card to the fantastic Simon Says Stamp store!

If any of you follow my blog you know that I am a huge pet person especially dogs! I love dogs especially my two goofs! So I chose to go with the Little Dog Agenda stamp set and all the fun "summer activity" dogs.

I started by stamping my puppies on Neena 80lbs cardstock with Lawn Fawn Jet Black Ink for Copic coloring. I chose the dogs with the beach ball, popcorn, beer (lol), activity flag or beach flag, and the skateboarder. I had to fussy cut them once I was done with the coloring (always buy the dies people! lol)

Once my images we complete and cut I die cut another piece of Neena 80lbs with the Mama Elephant Cloud Nine frame die (one of my favorite die sets). I created my own circle stencil by die-cutting a piece of acetate. I ink blended with Hero Arts Bubble Gum, Soft Apricot, Soft Vanilla, Green Apple, Soft Pool and Orchid inks for my rainbow circles. They are die and/or hybrid inks but they can be ink blended beautiful if you remove some of the excess before bringing the ink to the paper. If you are interested in trying this I highly recommend videos on YouTube by Laura Bassen. She rocks this technique!

I placed all of my puppies on the coordinating circles and chose the Mama Elephant Occasional Labels for my series of fun sentiments. I love this stamp set, it has every sentiment you may need and extra fun ones and I love the effect the stamped in black ink on white paper.

I finished off my card with some Nuvo Crystal Drops in rainbow colors and some Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear sequins. All of the products used are listed and linked below!

Simon Says: Red, White and/or Blue

Happy Wednesday crafty friends and Happy 4th of July to my American friends! It's time for a new Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge but first have you seen the Summer Kids Challenge going on now! The theme is Anything Goes with Sparkle! Click the link above or the logo below for more details!

Encourage your younger loved ones to enter for a chance to win one of three grab bags! This challenge is such fun!

Now for this weeks Simon Says: Red, White and/or Blue fitting for the date :)

Come join in on the fun, you have the chance of winning a $50 gift card to the fantastic Simon Says Stamp store!

These are colors that I do not often use, I love it when a challenge takes me way out of my comfort zone.

I started with my More Spring Flowers set and colored them with my Copics in reds and greys to mimic a white flower. I used the accompanying dies and decided on a navy background panel.

I wanted the background to have a little more life to is so I decided on the Simon Says Stamp Deco Diamonds 6x6 background stamp with some sparkle embossing powder. When I placed my flowers to the panel I decided I needed something to "ground" the flowers so I chose the Neat and Tangled Punchinella die and die cut a piece of Neena 80lbs cardstock. I really like the effect.

I put all of my elements together and opted for this great sentiment from the Simon Says Stamp Spring Flower Burst set. I die cut the stitched banner by Pretty Pink Posh from some Tonic scarlet matt speciality paper and I white embossed the sentiment. To finish off I added some Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear sequins in a mix of sizes.  All of the products are linked and listed below!
