Simon Says: Midsummer Blues!

Hello crafty friends! It's Wednesday and that means it's time for a new Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge!

But First...

Time for the annual Simon Says Stamp Kid’s Summer Vacation Challenge where we host a special challenge dedicated to our young designers!

Anything Goes With Sparkle and/or Shine

It is time for all you crafters to let your children loose in your crafty corners for a few hours. Just close your eyes and set them free to explore their creativity. Adults are allowed to help just a little bit if necessary, but we really want the children to ‘DO IT’ themselves as much as possible.

The Design Team all love this challenge and are ready and waiting to pop over to your blog to see your creations!

This challenge is open to all children aged between 2 and 16 inclusive

We have not 1, not 2 but  3 surprise parcels of crafty goodies, hand picked by Simon. All winners are chosen at random, Good Luck to all!

Now for this weeks Wednesday challenge!

This week Simon Says: Midsummer Blues! We are featuring always Memory Box products it isn't a requirement to use them but if you have them we would love to see them!

Come join in on the fun, you have the chance of winning a $25 gift card to the fantastic Simon Says Stamp store!

I made two cards for this weeks theme, I had this vision for my mermaid card and I ordered all of the elements but this pandemic has created havoc at Canada Post! My package arrived under the wire on Monday so I dove in and I am super happy with the result!

I adore the Simon Says Stamp Be a Mermaid set and I thought pairing it with the super fun Memory Box Bubble Circle dies wold be perfect.  I started by stamping and colouring my mermaid tail using Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers and used the accompanying dies.

I die cut my bubble circle from multiple cardstock and fun foam. I used the insert and used my waves stencil with Distress Inks.

I embossed my background panel using a waves embossing folder from my stash.  I glued all of my elements to the panel and added my sentiments and sequins.

To finish off, I added White Blizzard Nuvo Glitter Drops to the tail. I love the effect.

For this card, I started by selective ink blending with my Tim Holtz Stencil using Peacock Feathers and Salty Ocean Distress Inks. I die cut my frame from the Iconic Frame Trio Dies from fun foam and glitter cardstock and glued them together.

I die cut my butterfly from Moonstone cardstock (solid butterfly) and my glitter paper for the decorative butterfly (older discontinued Memory Box die)  I glued them together then added all of the elements to the panel.

My sentiment is from the Simon Says Stamp Amazing stamp set and embossed it using Fine White powder. I added it to the frame and to finish off, some Sparkling Clear Sequins.

Simon Says: For a Special Lady!

Hello crafty friends! It's Wednesday and that means it's time for a new Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge!

This week Simon Says: For a Special Lady! The design team is featuring Altenew products!  It isn't a requirement to use them but if you have them we would love to see them!

Come join in on the fun, you have the chance of winning a $50 gift card to the fantastic Simon Says Stamp store!

I wanted to use a color palette that I don't use often. Purple is a color that I have always struggled with but it's a color that my Mom has re-discovered, lol. So I decided to escape my comfort zone and went with a mix of purple and turquoise for this card.

I stamped and colored my flower and butterfly first with the BG family of Copics (colors listed below) and fussy cut both images as I do not have the accompanying dies.  I put those aside and started ink blending my panel using the Altenew Halftone Stencil and some Lavender ink.

I decided to stamp the leaves from the Altenew Wallpaper Art set with a darker purple-ish ink and I really liked the way it turned out! I die cut the panel with the frame from the Mama Elephant Cloud Nine dies and glued it to my card base.

I used foam tape for the flower and a mix of a small foam tape piece on the Butterfly wings and glue on the base for added dimension.

I used a sentiment also from the Avery Elle Butterfly set and stamped it on a Simon Says Stamp Brand Exclusive tag die cut from Lavender cardstock I added it with a mix of foam tape and glue to the card panel and added some twine from my stash.

To finish off the card I added some Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins and some white gel pen detail to the flower!

Simon Says: Happy Birthday!

Hello crafty friends! It's Wednesday and that means it's time for a new Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge!

This week Simon Says: Happy Birthday! The design team is featuring always fabulous Simon Says Stamp brand Exclusives and we are celebrating Simon Says Stamp's 10th birthday, woot!  It isn't a requirement to use them but if you have them we would love to see them!

Come join in on the fun, you have the chance of winning a $50 gift card to the fantastic Simon Says Stamp store!

I had such fun with this card, I used Simon and the Birthday numbers for my card today! I masked my number 1 so that I could offset my 0.  I then stamped my birthday hat and masked it to then stamp Simon! I coloured all of my images with my Copic markers.

I took my Altenew stencil with Delicata gold ink and blended that on the background. I then added my hearts and stamped them with Lawn Fawn Lobster ink.

I stamped a series of sentiments from the Number set in the background and gold embossed my happy birthday on Lawn Fawn Black Licorice cardstock.

I decided to add the little winky face in the centre of the 10 and finished off with some white gel pen detail! Happy Birthday Simon Says Stamp!!!

Simon Says: Anything Goes featuring: Concord and 9th

Hello crafty friends! It's Wednesday and that means it's time for a new Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge!

This week Simon Says: Anything Goes! The design team is featuring fabulous Concord & 9th products!  It isn't a requirement to use them but if you have them we would love to see them!

I decided to go with my all-time favorite Concord & 9th stamp and die set - Dahlia Turnabout. There is just something about this set that makes me happy and when I take it out I always end-up making multiple cards with it.

I love the color palette on this one, spring happy colors! I used the Dahlia die and inlayed some Lawn Fawn glitter cardstock.

I embossed my sentiment with Simon Says Stamp antique gold powder and put the panel on the card base with a mix of the same glitter paper and some Tonic harvest gold.

I decided to die cut the Concord & 9th butterfly and glued just the body to the panel and finished it off with Tonic pearl drops.

I did the same for this card, only changed out the colors and the Tonic drops!

Mother's Day Flowers with MFT

Happy Tuesday! Hard to go back to work following a four-day weekend! I am sharing a Mother's Day card featuring this beautiful Fresh Cut Flowers cling stamp by My Favorite Things.

I had my Tombow markers out from my last card share and decided to color this gorgeous stamp with some no-line watercoloring and my Dove blender pen.

Once that was complete, I die cut the panel using MFTs Basic Stitch Lines on the sides and cut the panel down.  I added some MFT black and white stripes paper to the lefthand side. I used foam tape to place the colored panel on top.

The sentiments are a mix of Clearly Besotted and Sunny Studio, I liked the mix in fonts.  To finish off the card, I added some clear droplets.

Simon Says Stamp Blossoms and Butterflies!

Happy Thursday crafty friends! Today marks a new Simon Says Stamp Exclusive Release: Blossoms and Butterflies!

I am in love with the Butterflies from the Comfort and Prayers stamp set! They are GORGEOUS!!!  I started by stamping the largest butterfly on Bristol Smooth Cardstock with my Gina K. Amalgam ink for some no-line coloring using my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers (all colors used are listed below). I fussy cut my butterfly and put it to the side to work on my background panel.

I chose the Sugar Plum Avery Elle Watercolor to paint lines on my Tim holtz Watercolor Paper.  I just used a wide damp brush and added my lines. I used one coat to keep the pastel feel of the purple.

I then chose the Simon Says Stamp Hello Beautiful Gorgeous dies from a previous release and die cut them twice, once from Simon Says Stamp glitter paper and once again with black cardstock. I used my Connect glue and offset the black slightly.

I placed my sentiments and my butterfly on the panel using foam tape for the butterfly wings to give some added dimension.

To finish off the card I added some Pretty Pink Posh Winter Sparkle Mix sequins and some Nuvo Jewel drops to the wings of the butterfly and the card panel.

Thanks so much for taking the time go to Simon Says Stamp to see the entire release!

Thankful for you!

Happy Friday! Having such fun playing with my Simon Says Stamp January card kit! My project today features the super fun skater die that is in the kit (FYI - there are still a few kits left and today is the last day to be able to purchase one, I linked to the kit below)

I was inspired by the pattern paper that is also in the kit by Echo Park. I just fell in love with the natural paper and white snowflakes. I decided to use some Tim Holtz woodgrain cardstock and die cut that using the Simon Says Stamp Repeating Circles die so that my pattern paper could peek through. Once that was done I decided to paper piece my skater (haven't done that in years!)

I took some Neena desert storm and a piece of matching pattern paper from my stash and put my skater together. Once that as complete, I decided she needed a face - I am not a drawer... This was daunting to me but I think she turned out okay!  I then added some white gel pen details and one of the super fun pom poms from the kit!

I die cut my Thankful sentiment from Simon Says Stamp Glitter cardstock and some Tonic gold and I embossed my secondary sentiment with the Simon Says Stamp Antique Gold embossing powder on Lawn Fawn Chocolate Bar paper.

I put everything together and decided to add supplementary snowflakes, I die cut some Lawn Fawn snowflakes from White Glitter cardstock and placed them on the card. To finish off, if you love jewels these Pretty Pink Posh Espresso jewels are a MUST for your collection. They are stunning!
