25 Days of Christmas Tags!

Happy Thursday crafty friends and welcome to day one of the 25 Days of Christmas Tags event hosted by Tracey McNeeley aka In My Creative Opinion ! This is the 8th year that Tracey has hosted this event and Simon Says Stamp is thrilled to get the ball rolling on Day 1!

Each day up to November 25th there will be a different company sponsoring with fabulous crafty giveaways and prizes to be won PLUS the company design teams will be joining in with lots of gorgeous Christmas Tags for our inspiration!

By joining in with the event YOU could win a $50 gift card to Simon Says Stamp! How awesome is that! ;-)

I chose the beautiful poinsettia from the Simon Says Stamp Winter Flowers set. I love this series of flowers by Simon Says Stamp, the dot detail on them is such fun.  I first stamped my poinsettia in Copic friendly ink with my stamp postioner and colored it with my favorite christmas reds. I then created a mask and partially cut it out to stamp my leaves. I used my second stamp positioner to stamp the leaves once again in the black ink and colored them in.

Once that was done I re-stamped the pointsettia with Versamark Ink and used gold embossing powder. I followed the same steps for the leaves.

I then die cut my tag and again with Tonic specialty paper. I used the same Tonic paper and embossed my sentiment from the Tiny Word Christmas set in white. I used foam tape to place the strip on the tag. I used a some Lawn Trimmings in Peppermint and some ribbon from my stash for the topper.

Studio Katia Poinsettia

Happy Monday crafty friends! What a strange weather pattern on the eastern seaboard! We are getting unprecedented wind and rain today, fall has finally arrived.

I made my first purchase from a Canadian company called Studio Katia, I recently discovered this company through Amy R and her YouTube channel. So happy I did, the products are wonderful and I do love supporting fellow Canadians!

This is a special card as it is my favourite aunts Christmas card for this year, she loves red and poinsettia's.  This is called the Merry Poinsettia stamp set by Studio Katia.  I started by stamping my images with my Misti on Bristol card stock with embossing ink and set them with gold embossing powder to use my Zig Clean Colour Real Brush Markers.  I wanted a one-layer but as I went in to add darker colour for contrast the side of my hand smeared some of the red all over the panel! lol

So I fussy cut the poinsettia's and used a Neena 80lbs piece to glue them on.  I then added some Liquid Pearls on the poinsettia and the berries. Put that to the side to dry so that I wouldn't get my wrist in there again!

My aunt is unilingual francophone so I die cut the Joyeuses FĂȘtes from Tonic gold mirror card stock with fun foam and StickIt. Once everything was dry, I placed my sentiment on the card and added some Christmas mix sequins by Pretty Pink Posh.

Thanks for taking the time!
