Hugs Gorgeous!

Happy Tuesday crafty friends! It's the 15th and that means it's time for a new A Blog Named Hero Challenge! This months it's Crafter's Choice or Anything Goes, yay!
I chose the beautiful Hero Arts Layering Flamingo as my feature stamp on this card, I just love the lines of this flamingo :)  I started by stamping the body of the flamingo on Neena 80lbs cardstock and die cut it before stamping the legs. I find it offers a more exact placement for the legs.

Once that was complete, I chose the Bold Sunburst large cling stamp for my background and turned it upside down to get the best possible stamping. I inked it up with some Fog ink and stamped my panel upside down and put pressure over it with typing paper.

I die cut the panel with the Hero Arts Rounded rectangle dies and placed my flamingo on top to stamp the puddle and leaves. I added some colored pencils on the leaves and puddle for added dimension and then glued my flamingo.

I die cut my hugs sentiment from a deep pink mirror cardstock and embossed the gorgeous sentiment also from the layering flamingo set in white on black cardstock and added a few candy hearts to the panel!

A Blog Named Hero - Monochromatic

Happy Saturday crafty friends! It's the 15th of the Month that means it's time for a new challenge over at A Blog Named Hero!

This month we are going Monochromatic! I chose grey and silver for my project this month.

I started with my grey cardstock and decided on the beautiful Magnolia stamp by Hero Arts. I die cut my panel with the fantastic Rounded Rectangle dies and eyeballed my placement. I used Soft Granite Shadow Ink to stamp my flower (in hindsight, I should have used the Charcoal ink only because the ink dries lighter - you see I know this but I still pulled a blond moment and used the light ink lol).

Once that was complete I chose the Hand Drawn Messages, which I love and stamped my hugs with Versmark Ink and then silver embossing powder. I then stamped the sending with the Soft Granite Ink and embossed the hearts in the same Silver from the Hello Stamp and Cut set.

I foam mounted my panel to my card base and I was done. This was a really quick card to put together! Come join in on the fun over at A Blog Named Hero!

Thanks for taking the time!

Simon Says: Anything Goes featuring Stampendous!

Happy Wednesday crafty friends that means it's time for a new Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge!

This week Simon Says: Anything Goes! The design team is featuring Stampendous products, you don't have to use them but if you have them we would love to see them!

Come join in on the fun, you have the chance of winning a $50 gift card to the fantastic Simon Says Stamp store!

For my project this week, I could not resist the Stampendous Sloth Cling stamp set. I am in love with Sloths and Otters, I can't get enough of them! I also (probably due to green being my favorite color) love a good jungle theme!

I started by trimming my Neena 80lbs card panel to 4 x 5.25 and stamping my sloth using my stamp positioning tool. Once he was stamped on my panel, I looked through my stash for "filler" leaves and/or vines. I decided to go with he Mama Elephant Swinging Borders and the Hello Bluebird Jungle Littles to fill in my greenery.

Once the stamping was complete, I colored all of my images with my Copic markers. I decided once again, to add some clouds (yes, after coloring all of my images) with my trusty MFT Stencil Cloud and Salty Ocean Distress Ink. Once that was complete I decided the panel was missing a little something so I took my Simon Says Stamp Craft Frame Dies from the This is the Life release and die cut my panel with the thin frame die. I also used the same die to die cut some Tonic gold mirror cardstock (entirely inspired my Nichol Spohr).

I placed all of my frames on my card base and pieced them together. To finish off I used my Birch Press Hugs die with black glitter paper and a Lawn Fawn accompanying sentiment from the Hang In there stamp set. I then added some black and white gel pen detail to my Sloth!
