Mama Elephant Rainbow Birds!

Happy Tuesday! Sharing a fun Mama Elephant rainbow inspired card today! We have been seeing a mix of freezing rain and snow here in Montréal and I was in dire need of a happy colourful project :)

This card was inspired by Julie Ebersole, she created a similar background last week and I simply could not resist. It just made me happy! I decided to pair mine with the fantastic newly released Mama Elephant Happy Birthday die and the cute birds from he Mama Elephant wreath stamp set from their last release.

I started by stamping my stripes using my stamp positioner in rainbow order on 3/4 of the panel. I realized that once I was done with my stamping that I was slightly off so I used my Honey Bee die to cut the panel giving the illusion that all is straight.

I die cut my Happy Birthday die from a Neena 80lbs, fun foam and Stick It sandwich for dimension and added it to the panel.  I then stamped and coloured my birds and flowers with Copics, used the accompanying dies and placed them on the panel.

To finish off I added a secondary sentiment on Black Licorice cardstock and some Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins!

Art Impressions - Hamster!

Happy Monday crafty friends! I watched a video by Sandy Allnock a few weeks ago featuring this sweet Art Impressions Hamster Mouthful Set and I couldn't resist ordering him!

Again, I am in love with critters of all kinds! My husband keeps saying we need to by a ranch so that I can adopt all the littles that my heart desires lol! So when I saw this set I needed to have it.  I love that is has a die cut for the hamsters hands to add all the fun elements that come with the set. You can have him eating pizza or holding a flower, cheese a letter or these birthday candles that I chose for my project.

This little dude had to be the focal point for my card so I kept everything else simple. I stamped him in Lawn Fawn Jet Black ink and colored him with Copics in the E41 - E47 family and added dot detail with the darkest of the colors. I then rainbow colored his hat and candles and used the accompanying dies.

For the sentiment, I used Distress Oxides and went over the Happy with rainbow colors. I then added one of the Mama Elephant occasional labels underneath. I then added some Pretty Pink Posh Jewels to finish off the project!

Thanks for taking the time!

CAS-ual Fridays Rainbows!

Happy Friday crafty friends! And it's time for the by-monthly CAS-ual Fridays Challenge! This week it's all about rainbows! This theme works for me, warmer temps, the snow is melting and it makes my heart happy like rainbows!

I picked-up some go the Taylored Expressions Inks and I decided that they were perfect for this background! I started by stamping my background using the wonderfully graphic CAS-ual Fridays Modern Petals border stamp with Catherine Pooler Midnight Ink. I decided to emboss the black with Hero Arts Sparkle Embossing Powder, you can't see it well in the picture but it leave such pretty effect. I also wanted to ensure that my black ink didn't run with the ink blending.

To blend my ink I started with Lollipop (gorgeous pink), then used Lemon Meringue and it gave me a beautiful orange when mixed with the pink, then added Cookie Monster and that gave me the green, blue green and finished with the Lollipop again which gave me the blue and the purple. It was seriously effortless and I love the effect.

I die cut my Scallop Tag from Vellum and white embossed my sentiment from Puffy Heart Love. I used clear dimensional squares (cut to size) on the back of the sentiment and popped up my tag on the panel and glued it to the card base. I used some Lawn Fawn Lawn Trimmings and Rainbow gems by Lucie's Little Things.

World Card Making Day!

Happy Saturday crafty friends! I love world card Making Day! Works out well that it's the long Thanksgiving weekend here in Canada and that the weather is grey and soon to be rainy! I never really need an excuse to hide and play in my craft room but today is a full day of crafting then turkey:)

I am following the fun on-line celebration today one of my morning projects is inspired by the first My Favorite Things challenge ROYGBIV - Rainbows!

My inspiration came from the MFT Celebrate die (which I just picked up this week). I die cut it from Neena with fun foam and had fun with my Distress Inks to create my rainbow.  I then felt these adorable Bitty Bears would pair perfectly :)  The stitched scallop border die is also from MFT as is the diagonal background stamp I used with clear embossing for the black card stock accent panel.

Not only are those bears too cute, they are very quick to color with my Copics. I used the matching dies and put my card together. I finished off my project with Sparkling Clear Sequins!

Going back to check on more challenges! MFT will have four total today I believe! Happy card making!

Thanks for taking the time!

CAS-ual Friday's Challenge - CFC174

Happy Friday everyone! I have been neglecting my blog and crafty time lately. My work is a little cray-cray!!! lol.

But it is time for anther CAS-ual Friday's Challenge! This one is all about the sketch!

I had such fun making this one, I mean all crafters love rainbow right???  I used one of my favourite sets Twinkle! Along with the accompanying Stars Fri-Dies in a rainbow variety of paper.  I added some ink to deepen each colour and stamped the corresponding star stamp on top.

The sentient is also from the Twinkle set and was embossed with white on black. Didn't add any other embellies! I was so happy with the way it turned out!
