Hero Arts Summer 2018 Catalogue Blog Hop!

Isn't the new Peony (CM259) stamp set gorgeous! I had such fun coloring this with my polychromos pencils! I realize peonies are not usually turquoise lol but I loved the color mix! I didn't want to add too much to the Kraft panel so I used the Happy Stamp and Cut with Neena Solar White and added a little Peacock Feathers Distress Ink for a little ombré effect. Then finished this card with the Hero Arts Ocean Sequins.

I really loved the polychromos on Kraft so I did the same for the Blossoms from Coloring Bold Prints (CG735) 6 x 6 Background Stamp. I silver embossed the stamp on kraft paper and chose a few flowers to color and decided on three to create my visual triangle. I rarely use purple so I decided to live on the edge, lol! I love the way it turned out. I decided on the Wonderful Stamp and Cut for the sentiment.

This one also features the Blossoms for Coloring Bold Prints but I used white embossing powder and a mix of Distress Inks for my rainbow! I again, wanted simple for the sentiment because the rainbow is the feature so I chose the Hello Stamp and Cut and black card stock. I added some Nuvo Crystal drops and some Hero Arts Gems to finish off the card.

For my last project, I used the Peony once again with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers for some quick coloring and then embossed the sentiments found in the set on black card stock.

CAS-ual Friday's Sketch Challenge

Happy Fri-Yay crafty friends! That also means time for a new CAS-ual Friday's Challenge! This week we are focusing on a sketch.

I have been crazy busy lately and my craft room was a serious mess! So, you will have noticed if you follow my blog that my color scheme this week has been pretty much the same... All of my supplies with these colors were readily available on my desk, therefore I opted to use some of the same colors. LOL.  

I started by die cutting my card stock with the Stars Fri-Dies. Once I had the placement that I liked with the stars I added my sentiment from the Bold Wishes stamp set. I decided to color in the "4" using my Copic glitter markers. I them attacked my stars with a mix of foam tape and glue. Once that was complete I added some Pretty Pink Posh gems.

For the Boys featuring Lawn Fawn!

Happy hump day! That also means time for a new Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge! This week we are all about the boys featuring Lawn Fawn!

The inspiration for this card was my new Nuvo mousse. I had never tried it and just picked up my first colors. I took my Simon Says Stamp Falling Stars Stencil and used a mix of Aquamarine and Spring Green mousse. Love the stuff I must say! I put my Neena 80 lbs panel aside to dry and decided on the fantastic Critters Ever After set by Lawn Fawn for my feature images.

I love the whimsical feel of this stamp set, I colored in the images with my Copics and added some Diamond Stickles to parts of the dragon and Nuvo Crystal Glaze to the castle windows and door knobs.

For my sentiment I chose to use the new Lawn Fawn Happy Birthday Line die with some teal glitter paper. Once my mousse was dry, I placed the sentiment and then the images on the card base. 

I wanted to add a few more stars so I used the small star cluster dies from the Lawn Fawn Stitched Stars dies that were in the latest release in matching colored card stock.

Neat and Tangled!

Happy Monday! Beautiful day here in Montréal :) My project today is a little different in terms of color than my usual posts but I felt that the graphic feel of the Neat and Tangled I used needed a punch of color.

I picked Inlaid Squares Cover Plate die up last week and I simply love it! Oh the possibilities :) I decided to pull out a mix of card stocks (all the products are listed and linked below) and die cut each pieces with the cover plate.

With this mix, I had enough to make four cards alternating the card stock. I did some die cut inlay with my Nuvo glue. I also die cut the Neat and Tangled Awesome die (which I have had for a while and use it regularly) with black card stock and the outline with vellum.

That's is, a quick and simple card that packs a punch.

Hello Beautiful!

Happy Fri-yay! Hope you have all had a great week! Are you ready for International Scrapbook Day :) I will be doing some make and takes during the National Scrapbook Weekend event here in Montréal!

Like many of you crafters, I have a lot of different coloring mediums so when the Faber Castell Polychromos became hugely popular I said to myself you don't need them you have your Prismacolor pencils... And I held strong for about two months, then I caved. Lol. I have to say, I am super happy that I did. The quality of those pencils is fantastic.

For my project today I decided to use the newer Even More Spring Flowers from Simon Says Stamp. I stamped my flowers on kraft card stock with Distress Antique Linen Ink to attempt some no-line coloring.  I so enjoyed this process, it was so relaxing. I started with a white highlight on all the blooms and leaves and then went in with three different shades of each color family.

I used the coordinating dies for the flowers. I then pulled out this Altenew Cover Plate die that I am simply in-love with.  It is called Watercolor Stripes and die cut that from black Lawn Fawn card stock. I placed the cover plate die cut on my card base and placed my flowers with foam tape.

I then die cut the Simon Says Stamp Hello Beautiful dies with Tonic gold card stock and placed both sentiments on my project. To finish off I added some Pretty Pink Posh gold sequins and black Tonic Nuvo Drops on the smaller flowers.

Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge Animal Magic - featuring Gina K products!

Happy Wednesday! I am super excited to announce and share my first post for the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge as a new DT member! :) I was over the moon when I received the news and I still am!

The challenge this week is Animal Kingdom featuring Gina K. products, we are showcasing Gina K Products this week. You don’t have to use them to join in but if you have some we would love to see them used. The list of supplies is listed at the bottom of my post and they can all be purchased at Simon Says Stamp :) I used a mix of Gina K stamps and along with some new Mama Elephant products for my project this week.  I started by stamping my vines and my Gina K sentiment with Lawn Fawn Jet Black Ink in my Misti, once that was complete I placed my sweet monkeys from the Mama Elephant Monkey Agenda set and stamped them in the same black ink for Copic coloring.

My Copic colors are listed at the end of this post and this was actually a quick card as the images are sweet and small :) Once that was complete I used my mini MFT Cloud Stencil with Salty Ocean Distress Oxide Ink. I wanted a little splash of color so I die cut some CAS-ual Friday Funfetti hearts from Fun Foam and StickIt adhesive. I also die cut the same hearts from Tonic Flat Red Mirror card stock and placed them on top of the fun foam.

I put my panel on my card base and then added another fun sentiment from the Gina K. Happy Mail set on the envelope in the Gina K. Red Velvet ink.  I love using the "Not a Bill" sentiment when I mail a handmade card.  All of my products can be found in the Simon Says Stamp Store and they are all listed below!

MFT Bold Blossoms

Happy Monday! Last day of April and I am hoping it really brings May flowers! I am in love with the MFT Bold Blossoms stamp set from their last release.

I die cut a Neena Solar White 80lbs panel with my Wonky Stitched Rectangle die to use as my base panel and pulled out my Catherine Pooler Inks.  The quality of these inks made this card so easy and it took about 25 minutes.  I stamped my flowers and I overlapped them, didn't bother to mask anything.  

I wanted rainbow order (or as much as possible) so I started with the largest bloom and just went in a circular motion until I had the right coverage for the large MFT Hugs die. Once that was complete, I die cut the Hugs into the panel and I also die cut some black fun foam to give the sentiment dimension and a hint of shadow.

I white heat embossed the sending you sentiment from an older MFT set on black card stock and glued it to my "hugs". I finished the project by adding some Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear sequins.
