Simon Says: Food and/or Drink

Happy Wednesday crafty friends that means it's time for a new Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge!

This week Simon Says: Food and/or Drink! The design team is featuring Neat & Tangled products, you don't have to use them but if you have them we would love to see them!

Come join in on the fun, you have the chance of winning a $50 gift card to the fantastic Simon Says Stamp store!

I decided to use the adorable Baking For Christmas set by Neat & Tangled for two reasons 1) it is too cute and 2) I have't done a critter scene in a while. I started by stamping my images on a piece of Neena 80lbs cardsctock and colored the critters and other elements with my Copic markers and die cut them with the accompanying dies.

I took another piece of Neena 80lbs cardstock and stamped the tree in the background from an Avery Elle stamp set and colored it in. I went over the panel with my MFT small stencil cloud and some Salty Ocean Distress Ink. Once that was complete I die cut the panel with my Mama Elephant Cloud Nine die as well as some Lawn Fawn Cilantro cardstock.

I then used my Lawn Fawn grassy borders and cut the bottom and the top of the panel to layer my grass. I place my images and decided the bear needed a place to be anchored so I used a tree stump from a Lawn Fawn set.

I place all of my images on the panel and started gluing them with a  mix of foam tape and tape runner to offer different dimension.

I stamped the sentiment from the same Neat & Tangled set on a Pretty Pink Posh label die and placed it on the card with foam tape. I finished off the card with some Studio Katia Iridescent Bubbles.

Feeling like spring!

Happy Wednesday crafty friends! Weather has been strangly spring-like here in Montreal. We don't usually get away with that in February, but i'll take it! lol!

I am enjoying playing with flowers and different coloring mediums lately in spring/summer colors.

This one features some newer Simon Says Stamp exclusive products, I just love their new floral frame dies. So many possibilities. For this project I used Distress Oxides for the background (Bristol card stock) in Picked Raspberry and Abandoned Coral (one of my favorite mixes) and i sprayed water drops with my Distress Sprayer.

I die cut my SSS Rose Flower Frame from Neena Solar White 80 lbs card stock and die cut it again with an MFT square die.  I decided to turn it into a shaker card so I added acetate to the flower frame. The sequins mix is by Neat and Tangled and the colors complement the background beautifully.

I put the shaker together and added a simple hello die from the SSS Hello Beautiful Gorgeous die set. I put the entire panel on a Neena 110 lbs. card base. I love the happy colors!

Thanks for taking the time!

Looking forward to spring!

Happy Monday crafty friends! Spent a weekend with weird winter weather patterns so I was inspired to break out one of my favorite floral stamp sets to cheer me up!

This W Plus 9 Kind Soul stamp set makes my heart happy :) I took out my Tombow markers that I haven't touched in years and let me tell you I was so happy that I did! I only used two colors on each of the flowers and the leaves.

I started by stamping the bouquet on a large piece of Bristol card stock only meaning to color the flowers. I added a wash to all of the leaves and flowers and blended out with my water brush. Once everything was dried I went back in with a darker color only adding a bit to the areas that would have the most shading and blended out once more with the water brush (which I used to have more control on the amount of water on the image).

Once I was done coloring, I decided to turn it into a one layer card. Using watercolor as opposed to Copics makes this so easy as there is no seeping of color on the back of the panel. I scored my card at 4.25 and creased it with my bone folder.

I die cut the awesome, Awesome from Neat and Tangled in black card stock and glued it on the card front and then stamped the You Are from Avery Elle just above. To finish off the project, I added a sprinkling of Studio Katia diamond gems.

Thanks so much for taking the time!

Simon Says Stamp Fall Flickr Challenge #82!

Happy Monday crafty friends! Hope you enjoyed your weekend, I sure did - didn't have to work so I did find some crafty me time!

I made this one for the current Simon Says Stamp Flickr Challenge #82! All about fall!

I had such fun using the exclusive to Simon Says Stamp Neat & Tangled Hello Pumpkin set! I started by die cutting my base panel from a Lawn Fawn Inside Out Stitched Scalloped rectangle die and placed my images so that I could stamp the leaves in the sky and the caramel apple on the base. I stamped and cut masks for the images that were directly stamped on the card base and used my Distress Oxide in Salty Ocean for the sky (I masked off my ground first). I then switched the mask and used a mix of Antique Linen and Gathered Twigs Distress Inks for the ground. I then sprayed the sky only with my Distress Sprayer for texture.

I stamped my images from the Hello Pumpkin set and used my Copics to color them in bold fall colours (I do love fall) and used the accompanying dies.  I decided on the Simon Says Stamp Painted Hello die for my sentiment in Black card stock along with the Sweet Friend from the Forever Friends stamp set.

I put my card together and added some of the Studio Katia sequins (I love this mix).  Thanks for taking the time!

Awesome Rainbow!

Happy Monday crafty friends! Kim with you this morning and I am sharing another rainbow inspired project! Weather is so beautiful and that is inspiring me with color! Lots of color! All of the products used are available on the Butterfly Reflections Ink shop!

I started by die-cutting the Concord and 9th Floral and Flutter flower die with several colors of card stock. I added shading with Distress Inks to the edges of the petals. I then cut my Neena 80lbs card front to a little narrower than the 4.25 width and die cut the edges with the Lawn Fawn Stitched Border Dies.

I then felt the card needed a black sentiment for it to really pop so I chose the Neat & Tangled Awesome die and I accompanied that with an Avery Elle "You Are" sentiment from the Simply Said Hugs set (with some craft surgery to mix and match the words).

I put the card together and had to add my favorite Pretty Pink Posh Crystal Clear sequins and a mix of Nuvo Crystal and Jewel drops in the centres of the flowers!

Thanks for taking the time, have a great week! If any of these products are out of stock simply select the "notify me" option Vanessa stocks really quickly!

Simon Says Stamp Flickr Challenge - Think Spring!

I have been so busy at work lately and with my other commitments that I have not had a chance to participate in a challenge!  I love participating in challenges so this week since the theme over at the Simon Says Stamp Flickr Challenge is Think Spring I had to play :)

These are colours that I never use!!! I am trying to get out of my comfort zone lately and trying new things.  I used the Simon Says Stamp Exclusive Sketch Ranunculus stamp set with my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers - this set lends itself beautifully to a water based product.  I die cut the Simon Says Stamp Exclusive Painted Hello die from black card stock and white embossed the "Friend" sentiment. I then added some Neat and Tangled sequins in the same colours!

Thanks for taking the time!

Avery Elle Double Birthday!

Happy Monday! Kim with you this morning sharing two projects featuring products from Butterfly Reflections Ink for my twin nieces who have a birthday this week!

These two projects feature images from the new Avery Elle Carousel stamps and dies! I chose the horse and the bear and coloured them with Copics. I then used my Nuovo Glitter paste inTanzanite Lavender and Peridot Green and made my own stencils out of dies. I then embossed my sentiments also from the Carousel set by Avery Elle.  I put my cards together and added the small action wobblers to both carousel images (I love me some action wobblers). I decided to make gift bags/boxes for their gifts, I love the Lawn Fawn dies for projects like these! So I used the Scalloped Treat Box die. I then paired the boxes with some of the newer Neat & Tangled Love Note dies in matching colours.

I hope the girls will enjoy these for their birthday! have a great week!

Avery Elle Butterflies

Happy Monday! Have you seen all the fabulous sneaks from CHA? Oh my, I spent the weekend wishing I had been there!  I can't wait for all the launches :)

My project today features the beautiful Avery Elle Butterflies!

I love butterflies but this set... oh my! I cut my base panel with the Avery Elle Wonky Stiches Rectangle from some Lawn Fawn Guava Cardstock (Oh this color, I just love it).  I used my Misti to stamp my butterflies with VersaMark Ink and used gold embossing powder on them.  I really like the way they turned out!  I then die cut the Neat and Tangled "awesome," awesome die from both black cardstock (background) and gold foil paper for the top.  The "You Are" is from the Love Puffin stamp set also by Avery Elle and I stamped and embossed that in the same gold as the butterflies. I love being able to use stamp sets in different ways :)

I put the top panel together and added some dots with my white and gold gell pens for added detail. I then sprinkled some Tailored Expressions sequins and some small pearls. I felt that a white card base didn't fit the design so I added VersaMark around the card edges and used gold embossing. I much prefer the way it turned out!  This will go to an awesome friend, who, unfortunately lives way too far away!

Have a great week! Bonne semaine :)
