CAS-ual Fridays - Forget your Trebles!

Happy Friday crafty friends! That means it's time for a new CAS-ual Fridays Challenge! The challenge is all about forgetting your trebles!

What's better than a rainbow to forget your trebles, lol.  I started with the CAS-ual Fridays Heart Note Fri-die and die cut it from several colors of card stock. I decided to die cut a border from my top panel with a fun angle so that I could add some rainbow paper in the same tones as the Heart Note in the back. This was a fun and simple card to put together.

Once I placed my Neena 80lbs top panel I lined up my notes and glued them to the white card stock. I then die cut the Smiling Fri-Die and a StickIt and Fun Foam sandwich along with a back piece of card stock and placed it on top of the notes.  I added Nuvo Crystal Glaze and once it was dry added some white gel pen for highlights. To top off my project, I added some of the new Studio Katia Iridescent Bubble to pick up the rainbow colors.

Pretty Pink Posh Hummingbirds

Happy Wednesday crafty friends! Like many of you, I have been so anxious to get my hands on the Pretty Pink Posh Hummingbirds stamp and die set! I had such fun with these, I am in serious need of spring inspiration and they sure did that for me!

I wasn't sure about my background (the heart cover plate die is by Hero Arts from last year and the cloud stencil is by MFT) at first so I added a vellum overlay to soften the hearts and cloud mix.  I stamped my birds with Lawn Fawn Jet Black ink to use my Copic markers in a mix of pastels in the BG, BV, R and Y families. I added some dot detail with the darkest Copic of that color family and some black gel pen on the eyes for definition.

I then die cut some MFT stitched clouds from both vellum and Neena 80lbs card stock and also die cut the Hero Arts Wonderful (Stamp and Cut set) from Tonic glitter card stock and a StickIt and fun foam sandwich for added dimension (I like to die cut my glitter and fun foam separately to make sure I get the best cut from my glitter paper).

I put all of my elements on the card base, once I was happy with the placement I added two white embossed sentiments from black card stock (also from the Hero Arts Stamp and Cut set) on the top and bottom of the wonderful.

I finished the project with a rainbow assortment of sequins by Studio Katia and gold die cut hearts from the CAS-ual Fridays Fun-Fetti. Most of the products used were purchased at the Butterfly Reflections Ink on-line shop.

Thanks for taking the time!

More Coffee Please!

Happy Friday crafty Friends! Time for another fun challenge over at the CAS-ual Friday's challenge blog!

The challenge is all about coffee! Have you seen Michelle's newest release - all coffee themed! I couldn't get enough of the new To Go Cup die! I decided on gift tags for my project, I mean it's the perfect size.

I decided on three different sentiments from the Hot Coffee set and I white embossed them on vellum to go over the Glitter "sleeve". Wouldn't a glitter sleeve be fun a Starbucks! Lol.

These sentiments are among my favorites. I mean the Sir Mix A lot Baby Got Back  play on words with the I like Big Cups and I Cannot Lie! Love it. I had such fun making these and most of the people in my life are coffee addicts!

To put them together, I die cut the top from pattern paper and the backs from white card stock. I sandwiched the twine in between and glued two tops back to back (shaded with grey Copic markers). I wrapped my vellum over the glitter and used foam tape to attach the glitter to the base. This was a quick and easy project and I love the way they turned out.

CAS-ual Friday's Challenge - All that Glitters!

Happy Friday crafty friends! Bracing for a snow storm here in Montreal, the last two weeks has either been sub-zero temps or snow - this is a winter like we haven't seen in a while. But on the bright side it is the first CAS-ual Friday's Challenge of the new year!

All that Glitters is the challenge this time around!

I wanted a masculine gift tag, my husband has a January birthday so this worked out great to use on his gift. I die cut my paper from the Scallop Tags Fri-Dies from both pattern paper and the grey background card stock.  I white embossed my sentiment from the Bold Wishes stamp set on the background.

I then die cut my shaker material from Glitter card stock using the Fun-Fetti Fri-Dies (love the Fun-Fetti, especially the hearts) I put my acetate on the front panel and put the tag together. I toped it off with some ribbon and twine.

CFC184 - Sketch Challenge

Happy Friday crafty friends! Does anyone have any World Card Making Day plans? I plan on locking myself into my craft room with the dogs and playing to my hearts content! But that's tomorrow, today we have a new challenge over at the CAS-ual Fridays Challenge!

This week we are featuring a Sketch Challenge!

I flipped the sketch to make a horizontal card so that I could feature one of the fantastic Puffy Heart Love sentiments! I paired it with one of the ballerina's from Tutu

I started by blending my background line with a mix of Picked Raspberry and Abandoned Coral Distress Inks on Bristol paper (one of my favourite mixes).  I sprayed the area with my Distress Sprayer for texture and I waited for the panel to dry and then proceeded to stamp my images with Versafine Onyx Black Ink.

I added some of my Nuvo Drops to the flowers on the ballerina. To finish off the card, I added some Fun-Fetti hearts also by CAS-ual Friday and some of my favourite sparkling clear sequins!

Rainbow Elphie Selfie

Happy Wednesday crafty friends! It is summer all over again here in Montreal and it makes me happy! So, to hopefully add a smile to your face on hump day here is a bright card featuring Lawn Fawn and MFT.

I love the Elphie Selfie set by Lawn Fawn from their spring release of this year.  I love me some Lawn Fawn critters and for some reason this is the first time I use this set!

I was having fun with this card so I figured why not make a whimsical fun rainbow scene.  The stencil is from My Favorite Things - Radiating Rays and I used a rainbow mix of Distress Inks on the background.  I then wanted to mute the colors, so I opted for a piece of vellum.

I then colored my images from Elphie Selfie with my Copics. I used the coordinating dies and stamped my greeting on the vellum with VersaMark ink and white embossed it.  Then thought, well, If I am going whimsical lets just add some Lawn Fawn Puffy Cloud borders on the top and bottom.

I then put my card together and finished it off with some hearts from the CAS-ual Friday's Fun-Fetti!

Thanks for taking the time!

CFC179 - Dies Only, No Stamps!

Happy Friday crafty friends! Time for another CAS-ual Fridays Challenge over at the Challenge Blog!  I am currently away on summer vacation so my blog has been quiet over the last little while! Feels good to take a few minutes and give the blog some care!

Rainbows always make me happy, so I picked a few of my favourite coloured card stock and used the Thanks die from the CAS-ual Friday's Smiling Fri-Dies set. I die cut my paper with fun foam and StickIt on the back for dimension and to make placement easier on the background.  I used coordinating Distress Inks to give my card stock some depth and then placed my die cuts.

I felt it needed a little something more so I die cut a few of the 4-petal Fri-dies to add in a few places with coordinating sequins.  I then added some Nuvo Drops also in rainbow order.  As simple as that!

Christmas in July

Happy Friday crafty friends! Friday = a new CAS-ual Fridays Challenge! This week it is Christmas in July! Almost feels like winter here, has not been the best summer weather so far...

I love Prismacolor pencils on Kraft! So I chose this fantastic mistletoe stamp from the CAS-ual Friday Mistletoe and Holly stamp set. I started by embossing my sentiment from the same stamp set with Ranger red glitter embossing powder. I then stamped my mistletoe with Versafine Onyx black ink repeatadly to create my background. To blend my colored pencils I used Gamsol, I love the effect it gives to the image.  I then used white liquid perfect pearls to make the berries pop, put my card together and topped it off with some red Pretty Pink Posh shiny sequins.

CAS-UAL Fridays CFC176 - Color Challenge

Happy Friday crafty friends! It's time for another challenge over at the CAS-ual Fridays Challenge Blog! It's a color challenge!

I struggle with color challenges because I get in my comfort zone with colors I use frequently. This is always a good challenge for me!

I love these images from the Exclamations stamp set. I used Mama Elephant pigment inks and stamped my images on some Neena Solar white 80lbs card stock.

I then used fun foam and StickIt adhesive to make a dimensional "smile sentiment" from the Smiling Fri-dies in light grey card stock. I then applied a little Hickory Smoke Distress Ink on the top of my die cut piece to give a little ombré effect and topped it off with glossy accents.

I added some Nuvo Jewel Drops and some Pretty Pink Posh sequins and placed my panel on top of a light grey card base!

CFC175: Pattern Paper!

Happy almost weekend crafty friends! Time for another Challenge over at the CAS-ual Friday's Challenge Blog!

This challenge is a challenge for me - Use your Pattern Papers!  I have so many but for some reason rarely get around to incorporating them into a project!

Firstly, I apologize for the lighting of my picture... Weather in Montreal has been grey, only grey! I really need to invest in a light box!

I decided to use the Ruffled Ribbon Fri-Die as my focal point for this card.  If you aren't familiar with Michelle's Calling all Sistah's line of products go take a serious look. She donates a portion of the proceeds to breast cancer research.

I pulled out some of my older favourite pink pattern paper to die cut the ribbon. I then used a sentiment from the Hope Ribbon set and stamped it using my Misti on both the white background and on the ribbon in Versafine Onyx Black ink. I then die cute the Hope Fri-Die with black card stock backed with fun foam and StickIt adhesive.  I then embossed the frame and put my card together. As always, added some Pretty Pink Posh sequins and some pink Nuvo Crystal Drops.

CFC173 - Pick Six

Happy Friday all but more importantly Happy 6th birthday to the CAS-ual Friday's challenge blog! In honour of the Challenge birthday CFC173 is all about picking six!

I has such fun making this project! I decided on six flowers and I saw a tutorial by Nichol Spohr on using heart dies to build your own flowers! So I decided I wanted to try that for my card.  I used the heart die from the Shuffle Fri-dies and die cut my hearts from a rainbow array of papers.I then used my scoring board to score the hearts in the middle.

I pulled out my Distress Inks in shades slightly darker then my paper and added some shading to all the folded hearts.  I put my "flowers" together and topped each off with a gold heart that I die cut using the Fun-Fetti heart dies.

I took out a Neena Solar White panel and stamped the Happy Birthday with the beautiful sentiment from the new So Pretty stamp set.

I finished off the card with some Pretty Pink Posh gold sequins. I ended up with six flowers, six topper hearts and six sequins!

CFC169 - Off the Edge

Fri-Yay everyone!!! Woot, woot! And that means time for another CAS-ual Friday's Challenge!  This week we are all off the edge!!

I have been in a rainbow kind of a mood lately! Longing for signs of warm weather I guess.  I die cut multiple CAS-ual Friday's 4-petal Fri-dies in different colored card stocks and I inked the edges in inks that were slightly deeper in color.  I then arranged my 4-petal wreath in rainbow order and added matching gems to the centres. I wanted a black and white sentiment for a graphic element and went with the For You from the Bravo stamp set! And my sentiment and some of my flowers are off the edge.  I toped it off with some Pretty Pink Posh sequins!

CFC168 - One Layer Wonder

Happy Friyay! So happy it's the end of the week :) Added bonus warm temperatures at the end of February! Snow is melting and the mood is good!

Time for a CAS-ual Fridays Challenge! This week is all about one layer cards. I have always struggled with one layer! But I am happy with the way it turned out probably because it is rainbow colours!

For this one I used the CAS-ual Friday WTF and Shenanigans stamp sets.  I used a variety of inks both die and pigment.  Some SSS, Hero Arts and Mama Elephant.  For the big Happy Birthday sentiment I used my favorite black Versafine Onyx.  I find it gives the best and a crisp impression.  I finished it all off with a mix of sequins (not sure if that hinders the "one layer" theory but I figure it's an embellishment)

CFC167 - Pink, Red and White!

It's Fri-Yay! That also means it's time for another challenge over at the CAS-ual Fridays Challenge Blog! Valentine's Day is next week so what better then a Pink, Red and White theme :)

I wanted to use one of my new favorite techniques for this card, craft foam, StickIt and specialty paper!

I started by die cutting my Neena Solar White card panel and stamping my sentiments from the Shenanigans stamps set in pink and red pigment inks. I then die cut multiples in pink glitter paper and red shiny card stock with a die from the CAS-ual Fridays Funky Round Tag Fri-Dies set.  The die is the same as the images from the Exclamations stamp set which I also used.

I laid out my dies to see where best to stamp the accompanying images in the same inks as the sentiment.  Once I was happy with the stamping, I placed my die cuts and cut the excess off the sides.

I added some craft foam to the back of the entire panel for more dimension and secured the panel to the card base and added a few sequins.

CFC166 - Music to my Ears!

Time for another fantastic challenge over at the CAS-ual Fridays Challenge Blog!

The challenge is all about Music to my Ears! For those of you familiar with the CAS-ual Fridays stamps and Fri-Dies collections, you will know that the music inspired product is simply wonderful!

I started with a Neena Solar White panel and used a mix of Spun Sugar, Picked Raspberry, Candied Apple and Wilted Violet Distress Inks.  It takes patience on Neena Card stock but the results I find are worth it!  I then used a sentiment (You are the song in my Heart) from the Love Notes stamp set and used the same Distress Inks to get a tone on tone impression all over the background. I die cut my panel with a circle die and the Double Note Fri-Die from gold glitter paper with foam on the back for dimension.  I then die cut a circle frame and used gold embossing powder for the opening.  I turned the circle into a shaker, before putting the card together I felt it needed a little more so I added VersaMark Ink along the edges of the Distress panel and used the same gold embossing powder.  I put the card together and added my Vellum sentiment (also embossed in gold) from the same Love Notes stamp set and put the card together. I, of course, topped it off with a variety of sequins!

Everything Turns to Gold!

Time for another CAS-ual Fridays Challenge!!! This week, the challenge turns gold for CFC165!

I actually used watercolour paper for the texture and more yellow-toned colour. I like the warmth it added with the gold instead of pure white.

I used the Truth Is set for the flowers and the sentiment is from MWAH. I used my Misti for stamp placement and to be able to stamp multiple times with my VersaMark Ink. I felt this was a good idea due to the texture on my watercolour paper.  I added fine gold embossing powder to both the flowers and sentiment.  I added a little Copic shading to the blooms using Y26 and Y28.  For those of you familiar with Copics and the Y28, it has an actual gold tone/shimmer (best way I can describe it). I used the more deep yellow Y26 to blend slightly. I like the way it turned out! I then die cut a gold glitter frame and offset the watercolour top panel for the glitter to show through slightly.

I then die cut some hearts from the CAS-ual Friday's Fun-Fetti Fri-Dies and placed them with some sequins to finish off the card!

CAS-ual Fridays Celebration!

Time for another challenge over at the CAS-ual Fridays Challenge blog! We are Celebrating for this Challenge!

I love using grey and white for a card, I find the color combination classy.  I decided to make a shaker, after all New Years is around the corner and what better then confetti to celebrate! I used StazOn Opaque Cotton White with my Misti for the "Bravo" stamp and the "Exclamations" stamps on the inside panel.  I was able to stamp multiple time thanks to the Misti to get a crisp white sentiment.  For my shaker I used the Fun-Fetti Fri-dies in silver, silver glitter and turquoise glitter papers and added some Lucy's little things Winter Mint sequins.

I wish all of you a very Happy 2017!!!
